Funny Story, I somehow ended up with the Kaxe that you are using in this video(purchased it from a guy on facebook) and hit my first ever tournament ace with it this last weekend!
Scott, you already had the best Forehand video on UA-cam, by far. But now you go and make an even better one! Huge shout out to you, from NZ. Great to see an RPM shirt on you. Love my Atomic Rurus. :)
No to mention, you seem like one heck of an incredible person! I thank the good Lord every time I see one of your vids. Thank you for teaching us how to maximize the greatest game in the history of sports! Peace
Thanks for the great video Scott! I think it's one of the best sidearm tutorials out there :) There are 3 points i would add to make it even more comprehensive: 1. Reachback: The arm doesn't have to be straight. 90° bend in the elbow is fine and good. 2. Grip: The 2nd finger joint of index and middle finger generate more power if bent (slightly is enough). 3. Footwork: Left right left (RHFH) is the easiest for timing, right right left (aka "Sexton hop") is very good as well. Keep up the great videos, love them!
Thanks Scott this has improved my forehand immensely. I went from being a back hand only player to becoming confident and consistent with my forehand within a short amount of time. Great vid
I completely gave up on my forehand shot but thought I’d give his advice a try. Completely different from how I learned in the beginning. He speaks TRUTH. I was throwing it over 315 day one after watching this video. Can’t wait to see how it goes with more practice.
Well, I'm definitely going to try this. Reading the article and watching the video, it makes sense to me that what your saying is correct. I'll probably stop hurting my shoulder throwing side arm too then.
This was very helpful brother, thanks! I've been pinching a nerve in the elbow lately due to the "elbow tuck fallacy". I also love how at 8:23 you allowed for either young-earth and old-earth creation (or evolution) :)
Just played 2 rounds and this technique is without a doubt gonna replace my Sexton hop, i got further drives with less arm strain. Kenetic chain and hip shoulder separation brings so much power
Developed tendonitis for the first time and my backhand is near impossible right now. Never could drive with a sidearm, just used it for scrambles. Anyway, the way I was doing it (elbow close to the body) hurts just as bad as my backhand right now. Read your article in Disc Golfer and gave it a try and no pain. Still a little wild, but it's giving me some hope for the start of the 2020 season as I need to give my backhand a couple months of rest. Thanks!
Scott, I really appreciate the breakdown. As a primarily backhand player attempting to work on my terrible forehand I find height control to be one of the hardest things to learn. Do you have any tips in this area? A lot of the holes in my area that require a forehand are uphill and I find that I slam a lot of shots into the hill or stall out hard trying to get the disc higher.
i`ve tried this many times/periods, but today i finally got it! I found out after 50 throws today that you have to be really loose in your arm! I was strong arming it all the time. Does that sound correct Scott?
I get arm pain if i start the throw by using the arm like throwing a ball even if im planted correct with weight shift. I noticed tho if i instead using my off elbow to start the rotation off my upper body it works better.Like drive that elbow back like someone stood behind you and u wanted to hit in the face. Do you do that aswell or does the rotation come from the plant itself?
both nate sexton and alex russell claim they get more distance doing baseball hop in their runup. I don't use it, but my sidearm is maxing out at about 380 ft. I'm only 5'4". straightening your arm that much on reachback seems unnecessary.
Blindly stick to what he says and follow .. it will work 100% .. I have rotary cup shoulder problem and I can’t throw side arm and through his session he made me throw 200 ft in just 4 trial throws …
the only part Scott Stokely is wrong about is that a two finger spread open is not wrong as I see pro players when using slower discs for them using this method on forehand so they can throw slower and still have control of the disc otherwise they would have to on approach shots/short midrange have a no control slow speed shot. The rest is right having see my dad use that for his forehand shots.
Can't say I really like the wording on everything even if I understand where it's all coming from. The explanation about how the lower body works is straight up bad. He only talks about the lower body facing forward and he demonstrates the motion by staying very tall. All you have to do is go look at his own throws and see that even he doesn't do it like that. When he actually throws his hips are rotating sideways and the upper body is leaning forward. Even his foot rotates a bit to give room to the motion. He does all that because that's what you have to do if you want power into a throw. You load the hips and the whole body up. Emphasizing how your lower body is supposed to be forward all the time is simply incorrect and will lead to unnecessary confusion. To be clear I'm not contesting his credentials as a teacher or as a thrower. I just think that by trying to make things seem really simple his explanation has become severely inadequate in this one aspect.
Not that I didn't know this already, but your awesome Scott,, I'm glad kinda that you didn't mention angle because it might mess people up...big time, that will come later

Love how often Scott has a Kastaplast disc in his videos. Also, great tips! Well delivered.

I've watched a hundred of these and my sidearm is so messed up. This vid might be the ticket. Thanks.
Awesome. Watched this a few times, didn’t realize you also had Guinness records. I love their beers, but don’t hold any drinking records. Lol 🤪

I am looking forward to your 1 day training in Ann Arbor in July. Watching your vids to prep now.

Thanks for the video and private lesson last month.
So good to see you back man. Happy New Year.

Your best video yet. Thanks
Brilliant as always.

Great tip for sidearm thanks
Great tips! I am excited to get out and work on improving my side arm tomorrow.
Scott, do u ever come down to Texas?
I'm trying to be everywhere this year. It's looking like early May for Texas. My clinic and seminar schedule is on scottstokely.net
Thanks Scott! I try thinking about it like skipping a rock. Correct, yes?
Volume way too low
Blindly stick to what he says and follow .. it will work 100% .. I have rotary cup shoulder problem and I can’t throw side arm and through his session he made me throw 200 ft in just 4 trial throws …
Where do we reach out about lessons?
LET'S KASTAPLAST! Kaxe Z, Falk, Grym X, get after it
Bring back the blue hair
KASTAPLAST ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!!!!
rpm shirt with a kastaplast disc
Hey bud! You need to upgrade your mic! You are pretty quiet in this video. Keep up the great instructional vids!!!

You are wrong. Works for lids in ultimate, but I can hit chains from 150 all day with a control fh, but I require 2 on the rim.
@@MakersTeleMark every player has differnt preferences. And for a shot as small as 150. Top pros are just gonna hold it how its comfortable

Krpi love the feedback. It helps me improve my teaching

My problem presently is accuracy and that's just me adjustment, it can't be taught
Thanks Scott!
