How do I know if it is the retractor or the clutch? Is there a way to tell if the transmission assembly is the issue? How hard is it to push the transmission lever? How strong is the spring? I do not have a broken wire on the retractor. I could not find a video on this subject.
Unfortunately you don't unless you have a camera at the bottom to see if the retractor engages. Other than that, you must replace the retractor to see if it fixes your issue. If it doesn't, then it's most likely the clutch(transmission).

Is there a video for this same washer but for drain pump?
Can I access the drain pump from here to try and see if something is stuck in there and causing the washer to not rinse or spin?
hi craig...I have an issuewith this said washer...can you help?? When in wash,drain or spin,you are hearing like it is washing or spinning but the tub is not moving???

i have a frigidaire top load that as soon as it trys to do a spin the agitator turns and tangles the clothes then starts to spin and is off balance so it stops what part should i be looking to fix

I have this same washer and it agitates and fills up properly but when it reaches rinse and spin it doesn’t do anything.
I would like some help. I heard maybe to check the drain pump to see if something is stuck but I don’t know how to access it. Do you guys have videos for this or maybe fixes for these symptoms?

Our Model FFTW4120SW1 Frigidaire top loading washer is making a grinding noise that can wake the dead, we took the agitator out and tried it, noise still there but not as bad. Does this model washing machine have bearings? If so, where? Do you by change have any more vids with this washer> TYIA

It's making a noise but nothing is spinning
@@DUURAG_ I had one today doing the same thing. I'm suspecting that the transmission locked up because it's not the clutch.
Mine two. Now im between clutch or thise piece
I swapped mine out as shown and it still won't spin any other idea u suggest

Mine agitates but won't spin and I replaced the shifter and still have the same issue. What else can it be

@@BruceWayne-bk6ne having the same issue on mine now. Either of you figure out the fix? The transmission clutch seems to be working but thinking it’s a coupler to the spin gear.
