Hi, I am Caleb by name, from Benin City. I am new in poultry farming and came across your video. I must confess it has been enlighten and helpful. Thanks for this video
Hello , really nice to see your video for the very first time I am from Ghana and would love to get into Poultry farming … is there any way I can reach you ? Prolly buy some fowls from you and get some more insight?
Thank you for watching . Please note that so many things can cause the production of the birds to be low , it could be breed, age, disease, or the birds are just resting . I may not be able to mention a medication here so it doesnt mislead others . Please send me an email, poultrywithmodupe@gmail.com so i can advice accordingly.

@@Pawpa208I usually buy my birds at Point of Lay (16 weeks or 14 weeks) . Let me know if you want an estimate of 2000 point of lay birds till when they start laying eggs .
Great content, I really enjoyed your insightful lesson on layer poultry farming. I have a question... What are the economic and environmental factors that impact the profitability of layer poultry farming, and how can they be optimized?
Hello and thank you for watching . Some Economic factors will include : price of purchased pullet, feed price, cost of labor and medicine, miscellaneous costs, length of production cycle, mortality rate, egg sale price and laying percentage e.t.c Environmental factors will Include Temperature, humidity, sunlight , rain amongst others . The farmer can optimize profitability by ensuring purchase of high quality pullets(point of lay birds) , experienced labour, using quality feeds , reduce miscellaneous costs while not compromising quality. The farmer has to ensure the pen is not facing the rising of the sun, ensure the pen airy, and the floors are dry at all times. These will in turn make the birds comfortable to produce optimally and in turn lead to profitability. I should do a video about this topic. Thank you for the idea.
Am watching u from Manchester uk i share your philosophy girl am working on my poultry project now in ogun state pls do have any idea to house 5000 layers in battery cage ,the size of the structure in lengths and widths pls thanks
While I am not certain about the size for a 5000 layer capacity. Our Pen 2 is a 4000 capacity pen . The size is 100 m in length and 50 m in width. It is a 3 lane pen . I'd share the link Thanks for watching
I had to look through my books to see what percentage we were at 22 weeks with our last set of birds , we were also doing about 6 and 8 % . They are currently 26 weeks and are producing at 60%. I advice that you give them time , they are still growing . Let's watch their production at 24 weeks, it would have greatly improved. Thanks for always watching ma'am
Hello, The resources needed will be determined by the scale of the farm you want to start. The amount someone that wants to start 1000 capacity layer farming will be different from a 10,000 or 500 layer capacity. Thanks for watching.
Hi great job you are doing. Pls how much (approximately) do I need to do a poultry business from chick to egg laying stage using the battery cage system. Thanks
We feed twice a day . Preferably at 6.35 am and 2pm Some would advice that if it is too sunny or hot , then push the afternoon feed time till later than 2pm Thank you for watching
how do you determine the numer of employees that are needed(including determining salary before the start of production) on the farm? how many do i need on a 1500 capacity farm(with battery cages)? And do their roles have to be specialized like accounting, pen house manager, etc or is it preferable to hire cross skilled people to work multiple aspects of the farm at the same time?
I manage the farm , I have farm attendants whose work is majorly to feed the birds , pick eggs . They are not skilled or previously experienced in the role . You may need to employ an experience farm manager to manage the farm. The size of the farm also determines the skills to employ. Thanks for watching
Thank you for subscribing . It's great that you have started construction already. Raising birds from day old can be tricky however it is rewarding with so many advantages so far you have experienced hands on ground . Wishing you all the best in the business . I am rooting for you .
My chickens are at 27 weeks and laying but the number is not increasing in number am getting 20 eggs out of 350 hens ,,,what can I do to increase the laying???
This is quite concerning as the birds should have at least gotten to 50% or 60% production at 27 weeks instead of the 5% they are currently producing. Were they sick at any time? Did you purchase the birds at Point of Lay or did you brood? Have you dewormed them recently? What is the quantity and quantity of the feed? You may need to talk to a Veterinarian

The "how much" will depend on the capacity of the farm, I mean the number of birds you want to raise on the farm.
Thanks for your response. I mean rearing 1000 chicks till when they start producing eggs using the battery cage system. Thanks
