On 20th March 2023, Indian Army has handed over 159 vehicles & equipment, indigenously developed under the Make In India initiative for UN Peacekeeping mission. These vehicles will be used by United Nations Interim Force for Abyei. The vehicles consist of Kalyani M4, Tatra & Stallion, Tata Safari SUV, Ambulance & BMP-2.

The Indian Army has ordered more M4 vehicles considering the ongoing tension with China in Eastern Ladakh. Some of these vehicles are also being integrated with the Israeli Spike anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) to neutralize the Chinese tanks.
Besides the ATGM, the Army is also looking at the possibility of increasing the calibre of the 7.62 mm gun on board to a 20 mm one with an automatic turret.
More Kalyani M4 with ATGM
As per the latest reports from the Print, the Indian Army has ordered more M4 vehicles considering the ongoing tension with China in Eastern Ladakh.
We already seen two videos of Kalyani M4 deliveries. Total 60 of these vehicles has been delivered to Indian Army, including a batch of 30 for the UN Peacekeeping Force.
Kalyani M4 Armoured Defence Vehicle
The Kalyani M4 is a multi-purpose armoured vehicle that is used for transporting troops at high altitudes in harsh climatic regions affected by landmines and Improvised Explosive Devices. It is built in partnership with a South African defence equipment manufacturer - Paramount Group.
Bharat Forge has been able to carry out indigenisation of nearly 95 percent with only 5 per cent being imported from outside. Its Pune based plant has current capacity to build 40 vehicles per year and will be ramped up to 100 soon.
Capacity & Protection
The Kalyani M4 is designed predominantly as an extraction and occupant protection vehicle. It offers high speed and quick manoeuvrability. It has maximum payload carrying capacity of 2.3 tonnes and can carry up to 8 personnel.
The M4 features some of the highest protection levels in its class. It provides STANAG 4569 Level 3 protection for engine and crew compartment which can resist penetration from 7.62×51mm armor-piercing round at 30 meters with muzzle velocity of 930 m/s and an 8 kg anti-tank mine-type explosive mass.
The entire body is rated at STANAG 4569 Level 4a and 4b which can withstand a 50kg blast of TNT from the sides and fire from a 14.5×114mm machine gun with armor-piercing rounds at 200 meters with muzzle velocity of 911 m/s.
It can also withstand a 10 kg anti-tank mine-type explosive mass. The viewports are made of glass hardened enough to withstand sniper and anti-materiel rifle fire.
M4 features a monocoque type hull. In this type of hull design, the chassis integrates with the complete body as one part. It is a French term that means ‘single shell’ or ‘single hull.’
Performance
With all the armour, the M4 itself weighs 16 tonnes. It has an impressive 43-degree approach and 44-degrees departure angle with a water wading depth of 900 mm which makes it ideal for tough terrain or fording rivers. The world’s best off roaders can manage up to 35 degrees approach and 28 degrees descent.
The Kalyani M4 is powered by turbocharged 6-pot diesel motor which is rated to deliver 465hp and a whopping 1627 Nm of torque. It uses a CVT automatic transmission. But it also features a low-range gearbox to work with the 4×4 system to help scale difficult steep inclines. The M4 maxes out at 140 kph and its fuel tank is large enough to help it cover a range of 800 km.

Indian Army first need to acquire Kalyani M4 Armoured Vehicles in very good numbers for Deployment at LAC and LoC before thinking of deploying them in UN Missions. Indian Army really have Poor Mentality. They only acquired 60 Kalyani M4 for deployment at LAC 😡😡
😂how naive
@@ex-muslimraj8652 Tu Phir Aa Gaya Gaandu
You do know those Indian troops under UN are in active combat zones compared to guys in LAC where there's no war going on right now? So you want guys in a non-warzone get priority of equipment over guys in warzone??
@@dragonstormdipro1013 Both Indian Army and Indian Air Force have Shit Mentality that is why we are Lagging behind China in every areas of Warfare and Lagging behind Pakistan in few Areas of Warfare like Information Warfare, Cyber Warfare, Truck Mounted Howitzers, Armed Drones, AWACS and few others. UN don't want to give UNSC Seat to India and Criticise India on Kashmir Issue then why we need to invest in UN Missions. Even those African Countries whom we are helping under UN support China. I even heard that UN failing to pay Salaries of our Soldiers. So why the hell we are giving too much Priority to Useless UN Missions?? We first need to work on our National Security. Poor Mentality Indian Army think Armoured Vehicles in UN is more important than Deployment of Armoured Vehicles against Enemy Countries.
@Prophet-thePedophile You Forgot that Indian Army started inducting various types of New Armoured Vehicles and Drones after Galwan Conflict otherwise they were never interested in acquiring New Generation Armoured Vehicles and Drones. This is the Poor Mentality of our Legendary Army.
May Kalyani grows in leaps && bounds. God bless India
Jaya India!
Why? What kind of weird move is this? why should they send such machines to UN machines when our own soldiers suffer with old outdated equipments. If army doesn't need new equipments maybe CAPF can use it against militants or Naxals !!
Good question. 👍
Bro jo dikhta h wo bikta h... And also army want to see it's durability and reliability in battle zone or say in real war scenario... And by watching it performance they will design their strategies for it
@@mr.singhai9987 wah baketi wah, UN missions are mostly police style mission s, no real fire arm engagement, matlab kuch bhi backchodi defend karoge ab.

One question m4 is license manufacturing product or it has all ip right with kalyani group for export them
Kalyani M4 is licensed produced South African Mbombe4
India should deploy this for our use first.
This is awesome but i would recommend only give 10 vehicle to UN and rest of 30 to indian army because...
If we give tata mrcv to UN , no problem at all but this kalyani is high tech, our india needs it more importantly than UN.
Plus we should not give this to UNSC for your information, as per countries like Britian, usa, canada are hosting Khalistan and harrasment protest towards india and attacking our embassy and temples , meanwhile their government support it and doesn't take action towards it.
Plus UN also made us shame by this khalasa delusional country formation they hosted to make fun of india.
If we support UN, they are not supporting much as we do. And not ready to give UNSC seat to india as well.. then what's the use ? UN is becoming a joke nowadays isn't bro.
Yes
To be honest just like Bharat has joined BRICS to form a counter to G7, should also make the G77 stronger, and build up regional organizations like ASEAN as alternative to UN.
@@datoolz0
Yes we should make our own committee as a alternative to UN
@@eternal1967 Just as Bharat pulled out of SAARC it no longer makes sense to be part of World Bank/IMF. Bharat has its own NDB bank. Why keep useless orgs?
why bmp 2 is stil produce come on guys 😏
Why to send our vehicles.. On UN mission... we need to strength our own borders
I think it makes sense for Kalyani to make a takeover bid for Paramount Group. Bring the technology inhouse, if Kalyani doesn't have it just buy it! South Africa should also consider buying Bharati equipment too, it is reasonably priced and good quality. A lot of what SA needs can be purchased from Bharat, it is past time to pursue sales to other BRICS countries.
It has bought almost all the tech in-house
@@IndianDefenseAnalysis does kalyani have ipr on these?? M4 and other Paramount products????
This BS use these vehicles here in india send them in UN missions . Lolz 🤣🤣🤣
This is unnecessary expenses for UN which doesn't give any respect to India.
Just , why ?
Pls someone enlighten me .. who’s paying for these vehicles deployed in UN missions ? Also will other peace keepers from other countries also use this or only IA personnel in UN missions ?
Will these m4 come back to our 🇮🇳 army when needed. Our 🇮🇳 army should acquire over 200 of these machines. Pls answer.
Indian army should buy thousands of them
Why u waste it for UN ,give this for indian soldiers in j&k and ladakh.😡😡
This will also be good Marketing since other nations also participate in un missions
Beautiful Beast!! 👍♥️🇮🇳
Just waste of money. Send these vehicles to our police force who still use old Maruti gypsy
Police is corrupt can't be trusted
Jai Hind Jai Bharat Ma💪🏻🇮🇳
Are we likely to place another order for Kalyani M4 for Indian Army?
Yes
Modi h toh mumkin haii ....modi boht development karadiya h sacch me ...India ko .....love u modi
Waste koi UNSC seat me permanent seat nahi milne waali.sab haan bolenge but seat denge nahi. India is wasting time in money in UN missions.
It sounds more like a war, rather than a peace keeping mission..🤣😂
All the yip yap aside these vehicles are absolute beauties
BMP2? Russian weapon for US?
I want one!
Swaha!

Hmmmm.
Kalyani Zabardast...🔥
What why? We shouldn't bother about un peacekeeping force.
They are delivered to Indian troops serving for UN ... To be true they are in hot zone as compared to soldiers in LAC or LOC ... And yup Indian army should buy these beast in thpusands
