This was a great video. The details about temperature, airflow, and technique were invaluable. Now I can stop the "meltdowns" when I micro solder.

I'm going to send lots of people your way Micro. The amount of people that melt & kill those and other connectors is mind boggling. That's why I gave up & decline them. 🖖👍
Your a Legend!! in your own time, you deserve way more! Subs. That connector pull, re-place was superb!! A little Guns N' Roses - Patiences & Micro mage viewing saves them.

I haven't had to deal with one of these connectors yet. I don't really work on iPhones or iPads. Thanks for the information!

Great job! I have a couple of donor boards I need to practice on as well. I just haven't been brave enough to attempt it yet.

Nice thing about donors, zero pressure. Don't psyche yourself out on them, not a customer device so there is no concerns.

Really good video, really enjoyed watching this. Taking those fpc connectors off and still being able to reuse them afterwards is harder than it looks, it’s so easy to burn them or warp them. Great video and great demo👍

Very impressive and informative. What distance do you keep your hotair? Thank you for the table re heat and airflow.

Hard to say, I'm pretty close most of the time when using a small nozzle. Close enough that I have to take care not to make contact and melt the connector with the nozzle.
