Tanaji who hailed from Umrathe near Mahad, Konkan, was busy making preparations for his son, Rayaba's wedding when he was summoned by Shivaji for a meeting. Tanaji put the wedding plans on hold and immediately left for the meeting. On hearing Shivaji's plan to recapture Kondhana fort near Pune from the Mughals, Tanaji took charge of the campaign and started his preparations.

It was one of the starting events of maratha mughal war which lasted for around 27 years and ended with the death of mughal emperor aurangzeb. After the death of aurangzeb maratha conquered delhi, agra nd bhopal which was the heart of the mughal empire. Atlast marathas defeated mughals nd that's why mughal empire shrank to its lowest. 3rd battle of panipat was fought around 100 years after this when maratha became the biggest empire of the indian subcontinent.
But Afghans have badly defeated maratha empire in 3rd battle of Panipat
@@dangerzone8570 Yes. Ofcourse because afghans were much powerful at that time with a larger millitary and more alliances. Also marathas were betrayed by their alliances at the time of war. This caused a catastrophic defeat of marathas but also it costed abdali so much that afyer defeating marathas he was not able to rule delhi nd he had to go back to Afghanistan.
@@dangerzone8570 you need to correct your fact. Afgan suffered very heavy loss almost doubled than maratha even after victory. Its was bhau mistake who climbed down from the elephant after his nefew got killed. And because of this army was almost leaderless and into the chos & confusion and this was the reason of defeat. abdali angered by heavy loss of his army has killed millions of civilians in single day, burned and looted city and not spared even thise who surrendered but abdali never attacked india again or tried to rule because of his heavy loss. Read and search google Or ask me for link. On other hand Mughal emperor Mohammad Shah allowed nadir shah to loot delhi for many hours when lost the war. Nadir shah killed muslim and hindu in equally for many hours

No because main army of Maratha was in Maharashtra at that time , and sadashiv bhaus division which is in panipat was just defeated to mugals at that time for that , this division was became around 50% weak in Delhi , because that division was just defeated mugal and after that afgani attack on delhi and attack on that division not whole army of Maratha in India, who was defeated mugal and was present in Delhi

Most Pakistanis tend to think they are the inheritors of the Mughals, who were some benevolent kings and brought art and culture to the Heathen (Hindu India) lol. That they ruled India for a 1000 years etc. maybe because that's what has been taught. That Indians/Hindus were weak and Mughals are the warrior people who never lost. These movies, though not historically accurate in their drama, highlight that it wasn't an easy walk over and they lost many times from the Sikhs, Rajput and of course the Maratha.
In fact, Maratha's pretty much-shut Aurangzeb into his palace when they were sacking Delhi.
Maratha's ended the Mughals, but then the British came. rest is quite literally history.
