Love this song. It's been speaking to me alot lately as the years seem to pass by so quickly and you reflect on your life and all your accomplishments. Love matters. All the material things collected are soon forgotten and have no meaning...and when we are gone..all we are is dust in the wind... Beautiful video. Thank you.
I’m truly sorry for your loss😢 I know how that feels❤ Try to remember all the good things in those 28 years😊 I truly think there is only a finite number of souls you will see him again!
This is my favourite song by Kansas! My younger brother used to wind their tapes on cassettes at Tape Warehouse in Chamblee (not far from where we grew up) im Ga.
Does not get much better than this American, homegrown band. Terribly underappreciated. So unique, talented and sincere. Hard to find that now. Nice endeavor, Maverick51, a worthy remembrance. Cheers.
I comforted a friend who wasn't too enthusiastic about his new titanium knee. So I told him, just imagine! When your body turns to dust in a million years, they'll still find your knee!
I'm getting dumped in the ocean. Santa Cruz Trench about 20,000 feet down. In 5 years nothing will be left except for my titanium knees. While not completely immune to corrosion due to salt water they will last a long time. I doubt that the Pacific Ocean will dry out before they are gone though.
Tell your friend I have a titanium arm, pelvis and spinal pins. Yes...its takes a while to get used to , but my daddy, now sadly passed away 7 years ago, always said he would sell me me to the scrap man, and we always laughed I'm worth more dead than alive😮😂. Take care xx

Uh huh...for God so loved the world that he created men and tortured them and killed them with hideous diseases and death. You are a rather substantial moron and simpleton.
Yeah, like that moment when you think (realize?) that maybe we are Not just dust... maybe things ARE relevant, even our Words...have meaning...and have influence beyond Our lives and lifestyles, (think Shakepeare, the Bible, etc...)... what would that be like???
" And all your money won’t another minute buy " I love this quote / lyric. The first time I can honestly remember hearing this song was nearly a decade ago, while on vacation with my parents in Colorado. They had pulled off to look at new house going up in a development somewhere by Rifle, and I sat in the car waiting and this was the song that played. 14 year old me looked out on the reddish colored mountains as the sun went down behind them, not far from a cemetery that had been there since the late 1800s. This is the first time a song really stuck me on spiritual level, that memory was etched into my mind and hasn’t faded one bit. It’s almost haunting, but in a very peaceful way. It’s one of those moments that words were just not necessary and it was quiet and peaceful moment all to my self.
What a deep thought for a 14 year old!. Here is Omar Khayyam's version: "“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”
This song reminds me of someone very special to me..this happened in the East Village, NYC …we were 16-17 years old then... The girl I met had a smile that could light up the darkest corners of my soul. Her name was Jennifer, and she possessed an effortless grace that drew me in from the moment our eyes first locked across the crowded karaoke café. It was a chance encounter on a Summer rainy afternoon, yet it felt as if fate had orchestrated our meeting. This song was playing, as I approached her table, I couldn't help but notice the way her eyes sparkled with warmth, reflecting the flickering candlelight. "Mind if I join you?" I asked, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice. She looked up, her gaze meeting mine with a curious twinkle. "Please do," she replied, her voice soft and melodic. Jennifer was a vocal coach, a wandering soul. Her voice was her gift, and she shared it generously, her music touching hearts, stirring emotions. I was immediately drawn to her, captivated by her voice, her spirit, her passion. We talked for hours, lost in conversation as the world outside faded away. We shared stories, dreams for the future, and everything in between. With each word exchanged, I definitely felt a bond forming between us; two strangers brought together by chance. As the day turned into evening, I realized that I never wanted it to end. And it seemed Jennifer felt the same. With a hesitant smile, she reached out and touched my hand, sending a jolt of electricity coursing through me... (I could hear Kansas playing in the background 🎵🎶 …Same old song Just a drop of water in an endless sea.. All we do Crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see..🎶🎵) "I feel like l've known you forever," she confessed, her cheeks flushed with color. I couldn't help but smile, feeling the same inexplicable connection that had drawn me to her. "Me too," I admitted, my heart pounding in my chest. With that simple admission, our worlds collided, and in that moment, everything felt better. The rain outside continued to fall, but within the confines of that café, we found shelter in each other's company. Over time, our conversations turned from casual chats into deep, meaningful ones. We talked about our dreams, our fears, our hopes, and our regrets. We had found a kindred spirit in each other, a rare connection that was as unexpected as it was profound. This girl I met was unlike anyone I had encountered before. She didn't storm into my life like a hurricane; she happened like a gentle breeze, leaving me refreshed and captivated from the moment our eyes first locked in the confines of that café. As a man, I had seen my fair share of women, each with their own unique stories and struggles. But there was something about her, something indescribable that drew me in like a moth to a flame. She had an aura of vulnerability about her, yet there was a fierce determination shining in her eyes, as if she had faced the darkest of storms and emerged stronger than ever. I would come to watch as Jennifer's walls slowly crumbled, revealing the fragile heart hidden beneath. And in those moments of vulnerability, I found myself falling deeper and deeper for her. This girl I met, Jennifer, isn't just a part of my story anymore. She has become my muse, my inspiration, the very reason I look forward to each new day. Years have passed since that rainy day. The café where we met has become our haven, a testament to the story that began there, and this chill Autumn evening as we stand hand in hand, watching the sunrise paint the sky in hues of pink and gold, I know that this girl I met on that rainy Summer afternoon would forever hold the key to my heart…...l still could hear in the background our song play ..."Dust in the wind All we are is dust in the wind (All we are is dust in the wind) Dust in the wind (Everything is dust in the wind) Everything is dust in the wind…🎵🎶🌹
I have enjoyed this song for years, going back 40 plus years. But how sad and hopeless would we be if all we amount to is dust. Praise God He gave us a soul and spirit that can be eternal. ❤❤❤
Imagine this song playing on the battery-operated AM/FM emergency radio, while hurricane Hugo raged outside and uprooted trees, ripped roofs off of houses all around, wind whistling and screaming like a freight train. Night was dark and black. Myrtle Beach, SC. Burned in my memory for over 30 years. So much has changed, but the time... oh where did it go?
As I get older, I'm 57 now, I have lost so many loved ones in my life. All my grandparents, all my uncles, all but one aunt, some cousins, my brother and recently my mother. This song makes me think of them all and how short life is and how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things.
Considering that we may be on the brink of a world war, we need to reflect on the lyrics of this song .Nobody is indispensable .Life's journey is short and we must remember that out of dust we were formed and to dust we return.
From dust you were formed, and to dust you shall return. It is the spirit within you, as imbued by God, between those two points that determines how much you’re able to pull out of life, and how fully alive you can be.
I don't know this song always reminded me of ecclesiastics when it talks about how we return to the dust and to store your treasures in heaven where they won't rot. I'd have to look it up for exact words but to me this song tells me there is more to life than here.

The older I become, the truth resonates in the lyrics. 😌😌😌Everything is temporary, so enjoy life while still alive.

I believe in love when I feel it not.
And, I believe in God when he is silent. 🙏🤔😌
Jesus came to give us everlasting life…John 3:16

Warum so melancholisch ,jedes Ereignis im Leben hinterlässt keinen Staub, sondern eine bleibende, wichtige, manchmal positive, bereichende Erinnerung.
