A limited Edition ok....you don't have to destory your block. You can flip the block and use the reverse side. Its a soft block. You can do a number of monoprints or monotypes. You can cut the block into shapes and recreate a new edition. Many things to do. Killing the plate does not mean the edition you pulled was not limited. I always reuse my plates and the edition is the edition period. Saves money and creates new possibilities. I am a master print maker and my work is in the Library of Congress and private collection. Nice video, bless and good luck
people have different creative processes. it’s all up to the artist, and it certainly isn’t your place to tell them how to do their art. plus, if your work is _really_ in the library of congress, i’d beg to say that you have much more important things to do than be a bother to other artists about how they use their supplies and how they make their works.
Actually you do cancel the plate for this imitation lino one cut seems to work just fine and if you want to be absolutely correct you then print a canceled print to show that it can’t be printed again.
You drew it right accordingly to what you wanted when it printed it flipped and killed the intention🤔 besides that it was nice to see you work theres always something to learn
If you ever do a Spanish Galleon, send me a message. Nice work amigo. I do limited edition coins. It's tough as I do them all old old school. I hand cut each element into steel and stamp the dies by hand. Hardest part is grinding the die faces down after to reuse them. Have thought about doing this but have no time with the projects I have already.
Samantha Marroquin not press too hard and don’t point the tool down but flat to about a 45 degree angle so you don’t go too deep and through the other side. IMPORTANT BASIC NOTE - ALWAYS have the free hand below your tool hand so you don’t cut yourself
Me too I feel addicted to this song. Searched for hours but didn’t find. Actually I found 2 (brillant) albums of Dead Steve on Spotify, I guess Dead Steve is another artist name of Steve Thaemert ? Also found out he is the lead slinger of metal band Enemy X. But couldn’t find the song here in this (also brillant) linocut video. Really underrated artist.
My only complaint is that it’s not actually linoleum. It’s rubber or vinyl. Looks more like rubber. Just a nit pick. But an important one because of the degrees of difference in what you can do with the different materials.
Thank you for the comments. I cut it because to me it is not a limited edition unless the original lino cut is destroyed.
nick sinclair bad man tings
I havent done this in like 13 yrs woow love this peace of art. Thanks for sharing 👍
Why did you cut the stamp you made???? I mean I get that you want it to be limited edition but still!!!
When you make a certain amount of stamps you are supposed to destroy it when you are done
That is absolutely incredible. Wow
Did man vs. pin send anyone here? Just me?... Okay then.

That is a wonderful technique! Where did you receive your Linoleum that size & do you have any tips for a newbie at carving?

I need this song in my life
I've just started linocut. Where do you get your linoleum?
I got mine at Blick art supplies
What kind of material do you use since is not wood?
Linoleum sheet. Although you can use MDF, or any other material of similar substance.
Grande!

Only one color before destroying ?
The best part is the sketchup then ...
It lacks a bit of work to make this worth it, in my opinion.

Hello, this is actually 'soft carve' or flexible lino or easy carve linoleum. It is a very soft, pliable lino and gives a different range of textures.
