Yelena may have not been a young avenger in the comics, we NEED her to be one in the mcu. Kate and Yelena are just so brilliant together and perfectly compliments Clint and Natasha’s relationship.
The most endearing part to me is the fact Yelena like how she reminded Kate in the first scene could've killed her at any point even she though she was getting in the way of her getting revenge on Clint but chose not to because one, she knows Kate is an innocent third party and two, their chemistry is on fire. 🔥

As a professional fighter Yelena is beyond anything Kate could probably be (she's been trained as an assasin from a young age, while Kate mostly had a normal childhood) but it's interesting that the few times Kate actually manages to get a minor hit on her is when she does something completely unexpected like slap her or throw an ornament at her.
5:24 - I feel like there’s more to that comment than just a joke. Just as her sister Nat weaponized her beauty, Yelena weaponizes her natural likability. We see it at the beginning of Black Widow when she defeats the the former widow by feigning being hurt and looking vulnerable. She gets Nat to instantly call stalemate and soften when she visibly struggled after their grapple in the safehouse. She also disarms Kate Bishop (though she doesn’t want to kill her) with her natural charm. It’s part of her training. She really can’t help it.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how good Haille Steinfield and Florence Pugh's acting is in this scene. Best acting feeding off each other since *that scene* with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.
Amazing how the option of killing Kate is NEVER on the table for Yelena...she really is just there to eliminate Barton and call it a day. That's just a model professional, right there
To be fair, she might have considered it if not for the fact that Kate's mother hired her so obviously killing her daughter would piss off her employer. Originally it was gonna be some lucky cat prop thrown at her, then they changed it to the hot sauce bottle pretty much 'cause of Florence and it led to the whole "I could put hot sauce on it???" "Ah, I love hot sauce. YEEEAAAAAASS..." That's purely Florence Pugh right there, hahahah she's nuts about it. One of the guys behind camera was warning her that if she put that spicy stuff on the macaroni she'd have to keep eating it like that for multiple takes and she was SO excited XD

Coming back to this, it’s such a joy just to see how little Yelena sees Kate as a threat. Clearly she’s someone who can at least take a few punches and she can subdue pretty easily but her intent is never to kill her, mostly because she knows Kate could never and would never. So she plays with, enjoys her time, and then moves on.
I love their chemistry, they are meant to be best buddies as their mentors before them. 💕 Plus, Hailee shows her some Filipina inheritance. You never go wrong with that facial resemblance. Im proud of her. 🇵🇭
I spent the whole series thinking how Cute and Hilarious Kate is then Yelena shows up and steals the show. Black-Widow and Hawkeye's relationship is even funnier now than Barton/Natasha who set the bar really high.
I think they are the awesome duo and I reckon they will become good friends throughout the MCU film series, it's clear that we haven't seen the last of Yelena or Kate. I just love the face Yelena makes when Kate does certain things, it's like a mother/big sister expression that Kate can't lie too 😂😂

I was so happy with Florence Pughs performance in the Black Widow movie… then seeing Hailee Steinfeld in the Hawkeye show, these two meeting was my favorite moment of all time. They’re both so good and also funny in such different ways but they make it work.

There's a small problem. Both actresses are busy doing other films all time, especially Florence Pugh who is being cast in upcoming big productions. They start shooting Dune part 2 this summer and Florence has been cast as princess Irulan (portrayed by Virginia Madsen in the original film).
I think out of all the Disney+ shows, my favorite relationship had to be Yelena and Kate. They’re just so funny together, I hope we get more of them in the MCU
Love Yelena's character and the way she delivers her lines. I hope in the near future we have a TV series or movie with these 2. I can see them being the new Hawkeye and Black Widow duo for sure. I do think they missed an opportunity though. Since Yelena wanted to see all things New York so badly, I think fun end scene would have been after they did the full Rogers musical at te end of the show, they cut to her and she says hwo bad it was or something with her character. I was waiting for it and it didn't happen.

Nah, Yelena isn't a psychopath who kills people for rather arbitrary reasons. Villanelles is genuinely disturbed and since her goals follow no ultimate motive one cannot connect to her. The black humor in Killing Eve gets stale and old real fast.

To be fair I have more understanding of somebody like Hitler, who at least believed he was defending the German people from outside enemies and greedy bankers, than the fictional character of Villanelle who is portrayed as a female assassin but kills people left and right for arbitrary reasons and is madly in love for some utterly generic middle-aged woman she has nothing in common with.
Hannibal Lecter is an evil man. A disturbed psychopath and a cannibal. But one understands his motives. He despises rudeness, incompetence and bad taste. This is why he has a bad musician killed and eaten. For he ruined a musical piece he enjoys as pure art.
Nothing of the sort in Villanelle. She kills people just because they're in her way. Follows no axiom, no dogma and no obsessed logic (like Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old men).
OMG I LOVE YELENA AND KATE TOGETHER! Yelena is so funny! Florence is an amazing actress! Her accent is amazing in the MCU! Hailee is an amazing actress as well! Both need to be all over the MCU! I’m for it! We need more cute moments like these!

I'm pretty sure the "one fork" scene was improvised, because it's obvious production just take care of how the scene looks and every drawer is empty, and talk about the fork is just absurdly funny. You can't convince me otherwise.

yeah same with the hot sauce. Originally it was gonna be some lucky cat prop thrown at her, then they changed it to the hot sauce bottle pretty much 'cause of Florence and it led to the whole "I could put hot sauce on it???" "Ah, I love hot sauce. YEEEAAAAAASS..." That's purely Florence Pugh right there, hahahah she's nuts about it. One of the guys behind camera was warning her that if she put that spicy stuff on the macaroni she'd have to keep eating it like that for multiple takes and she was SO excited XD

Coming back to this, it’s such a joy just to see how little Yelena sees Kate as a threat. Clearly she’s someone who can at least take a few punches and she can subdue pretty easily but her intent is never to kill her, mostly because she knows Kate could never and would never. So she plays with, enjoys her time, and then moves on.

I love their chemistry, they are meant to be best buddies as their mentors before them. 💕

I spent the whole series thinking how Cute and Hilarious Kate is then Yelena shows up and steals the show. Black-Widow and Hawkeye's relationship is even funnier now than Barton/Natasha who set the bar really high.

I love the fact that there is a guy watching them fight through the office. Poor guy probably has deadlines to finish instead of being at the Christmas party and these two girls just come right through the doorway next to him fighting. He's like, "What's going on over there? I was so happy with Florence Pughs performance in the Black Widow movie… then seeing Hailee Steinfeld in the Hawkeye show, these two meeting was my favorite moment of all time. They’re both so good and also funny in such different ways but they make it work.

There's a small problem. Both actresses are busy doing other films all time, especially Florence Pugh who is being cast in upcoming big productions. They start shooting Dune part 2 this summer and Florence has been cast as princess Irulan (portrayed by Virginia Madsen in the original film).

I do think they missed an opportunity though. Since Yelena wanted to see all things New York so badly, I think fun end scene would have been after they did the full Rogers musical at te end of the show, they cut to her and she says hwo bad it was or something with her character. I was waiting for it and it didn't happen.
