@Ghajini 3000 Yeah, the first one was lucky and the other was sneaky...but either was no match for Horton. He survived way more than that, lol. Throughout watching the show, my only complaint was that Mac was way too overpowered and playing god too much: everything had to go his way, or else. And the only times when this was not the case - were always caused by humans. I saw immortals on the show as a kind of a predictable and optional side-dish, since this hand was rather underplayed. Horton on the other hand...was the only one that could feasibly make Duncan disappear.

It is largely due to his role in this episode plus the other resume items that contributed to being able to hit the big screen. Seeing him here, it is like watching those cumulative baby steps that allowed him now to be wealthy and well-known.

I beg to differ, the lack of backstory for the immortals in the Highlander franchise is a major flaw. It bothers me that immortals just popped out of nowhere in the Highlander universe. Highlander II is crap but it's the only part of the franchise that tried to explain immortals.

Personally, and understandably others like yourself will not agree, I find the mystery of the immortals' origins to be a fantastic part of the story. Have they been around as long as humankind? Are they relatively new? Are they descendants of Adam and Eve who, unless I'm mistaken, were immortals in Eden? It leaves a little to the imagination of the viewer, which allows the viewer to feel a small sense of involvement in the creation of the lore of the story.

Would you accept it as a cool mystery or would you question why some people are born with superpowers?
Being that he just left the hospital.. I feel like at this point in the episode Duncan was still healing from his injuries.. so he probably wasn’t at 100% yet .. maybe he had some kind of pain meds in his system making him drowsy Also… so he wasn’t as aware of his surroundings.. that’s why the doctor could sneak up on him

The whole scene is just so ridicilous. After the "totally genuine" enhancement Duncan sees an oval shape and immediately concludes that it's omicron and not an o or a zero. And then when they "search in the database", it's just MS-DOS loading sequence shown on the monitor. There isn't a difference. Useless mortals grow old and die, yes. But they are replaced by, more often than not, MORE useless people. And since the world's population keeps going up and up, we end up with more useless people per generation. And the immortals from the show are portrayed that way because, more often than not, most of them are villains. Most of the "good" immortals were contributing, even in small ways. Mass murder of a sub-species shouldn't be condoned on that basis, or any basis.

I recently had experience with this. Being a cyclist, archer, and historical fencer I'm pretty active and rarely get sick, but when I do have to see the doctor, my health plan is essentially useless.
