Canadian ATC is the gold standard in North America. They are always top notch, use standard phraseology, and don’t bring their attitude/ego to the mic like some down south.
What a lovely set of interactions. No repeating information, calm instructions and questions, and just a delight to listen to. I mean, I'm sorry for the travel disruptions and all that, of course, but just wow. Would that all emergencies were handled so cleanly!
But Red 2 reported smoke emanating from the bottom of the aircraft towards the rear... so _something_ was going on in there. EDIT - textbook procedures and co-ordination with ATC here, no delays, no unintelligible or unnecessary comments or requests, some other pilots and some ATCs further south should take note.
I would have told my company later to shove it with those last minute checklists. If there was a fire on the aircraft, I would be the opening that cockpit door and be first down the slide with no shame. Company expects you to run those checklists during an active fire situation. Okay. I'd like to see the aholes who wrote that rule put into a aircraft firefighting training exercise where they are in the cockpit and there is alarms going off and smoke starting to enter the cockpit and you just stopped on the runway and I would like to see what those bozos do. Aww I am sorry, you need to stay to famish the checklists. In an active training scenario with live smoke and fire, they would looking at you like you were crazy!
Piloting for an airline requires a cool head and a respect for procedures. If there was visible fire or the passenger compartment was compromised, I'm sure there would have been a more rapid deplaning. Remember that the woman is the first officer, and performing her duty flawlessly - communication and checklists, while the pilot is aviating and navigating. But I think your real reason for your response is to get the attention of viewers in order to engage with them. Find another channel to play your games.
Gee I’d hate to run off the aircraft and into a spinning propeller. Best to run the checklist and not decapitate all your passengers. How idiotic can you be?
@@zerosierramike2862 So the checklist is 1 item only? Turn off engine? There's nothing else on the checklist then right? Then why have a checklist at all and not just memory item to turn off engine.
Hello, friends. Unfortunately, we don't know what happened after the evacuation. If there is any update about this incident, I will post it here.
Sounds like it was just a fire indicator. All evacuated safely on the runway as precaution immediately after landing.
@@Coach_Berrill Last tower transmission says smoke was spotted, so likely a bit more than an indicator.
Ah copy the last transmission. The last thing I heard from the tower when I was working was no observed smoke. Didn't hear his last transmission.
@@Coach_Berrill Just fyi, you can correct your posting yourself, if you find a typing error, in the 3 dots menu.

Great communication from the crew and controller.
Souls Remaining. Oops. Mean fuel remaining….😮
64 souls remaining haha
@@chrisvickers1262 yea I biffed it. I definitely laughed at myself after everything was secure on the ground and realized what I said haha
@@Coach_Berrill Well fortunately all the souls on board are remaining! Good work getting them home safe!
YYZ - ATC so good that Rush created a song about them...
Canada 🇨🇦 rocks! Love my country.
Canadian ATC and pilot communication is great here. In the US they’d be repeating the emergency like 5 times and not using mayday
Be careful you might offend the US ATC
I listen to Yyz alot, they are by far the easiest to understand and most pleasant of interactions for any of the big airports I listen to
100% accurate statement. These ATC recordings should be standard training here in the USA
i didn't catch that? what did you say? can you repeat that? sorry what are these "kilograms"? give me pounds!!! now give me minutes!
Great job all around ❤
I'm dying at the souls remaining
Fuel on board and souls remaining? Did someone get lost in flight? It's usually souls on board and FUEL remainng.
They're Canadian - they can handle this.
Someone lost their shoes?
Probably a lithium battery in someone's suitcase.
As she says: Company procedure everybody off.
"Souls remaining." *cue the danger music*
What a difference between these 2 controllers, and what we hear from those working NYC.
Americans are hyper.
I'm fairly certain they were landing whether cleared or not.
It would be fairly stupid to do so unless the runway was clear - No?
1:20 lol whoops
We have 60 souls … now 59 and decreasing
😅
Local media reports that "there was no issues with the aircraft " which likely means it was a false alarm cause a sensor issue
lol i like that "there was no issue, only an issue" wording

I don't know how reliable your local media is, but I sure don't trust mine for anything other than the reporting on the school board meeting. 😆
I remember seeing the tail end of a news report but didn't catch the details. This must have been what they were talking about. Thanks :).
