Love when you make videos about other people’s creativity, especially when it’s outside of their ability to make something like that themselves. More artists, doing more things, always.
What I have ALWAYS loved about you and your channel is the way you give back. You are always showcasing and supporting other artists in their endeavors. Hats off to you, Peter McKinnon. You are a great guy with a big heart. This video was awesome. No doubt your support is sending Coup De Tete to the next level.
Love this ! When someone like yourself does something like this (what I like to call paying forward) for someone it honestly shows more about that person’s personality and the ability to make a big difference to someone’s life not just be a UA-camr or creative so on.. it’s about being a kind and humble human being! Keep being you Pete ! Good on you !
Peter I am an old retired sports and wedding photographer. I have followed you from the first time I ran across you on UA-cam many years ago.I knew you had the magic. You are such an incredible inspiration. Even being retired I have a Canon 70 D as my backup a 1DX markII and a R3 and have kept a few lenses. Watching you makes me want to get back into the business and reinvent myself into a product photographer/videographer. I truly love people I have more lights than I have ever used Godox flashes softboxes strobes most of which sit in boxes screaming at me put them to work. If you ever venture close to Dublin Ohio or Fort Myers Florida I would love to spend as much time as you can spare to see if there is still magic in the air…Keep on inspiring Thanks,Mark
How can I NOT like this? You're on of few creators on YT I still respect so much. No traces of "I am successful and better than you", which I appreciate. Too many (much less successful than you ) UA-camrs give off that vibe! Your authenticity is just great. And this video shows it!
gotta love the "give back" stage of a career, you make all the connections and have the choice to just keep it all for yourself or give it to other people doing cool things that could use a little push and guidance.
You have stepped up the game for so many of us. I wish I had the time to put in all the stuff you tought me into my work. I mean I just do videography for a hobby but you gave us so much tiny and big Tips over the years. Just thank you.
Glad to see you sharing your expertise with people to help them take their success and vision to the next level. I feel like helping other creatives grow is a big part of what is important about being a photographer to me and its nice to see that I'm not alone there.
You’re the man, Pete! I love how you could help those guys, got my hat from them thanks to you and all the guys were soooo cool and amazing! The guys that make you love small businesses. Couldn’t be happier!
This is a true story-teller theme. Visit with them, get invested and your viewers invested, nudge them towards better, visit them and update your viewers with more story. Pure gold Pete.
I know it’s a long shot for you to see this Peter but man I need to sincerely thank you for these videos, your message, the vibe you put forth in your work. It’s really helped me through a very hard time in my career. I’m in a transition of selling my current business (hopefully) to pursue a dream in cinematography/photography and a lot of it has to be credited to you. It’s always been a little side passion for me but I think time to take serious and chase after it.
Nice to see a family business grow up and with you helping, it´ll grow faster!! I love Canon and my face would be the same of the girl if I could got that gear. Regards from Argentina.
I love seeing the process of things (because it makes me think of my own process!) I look forward to Coup de tete on UA-cam! Definitely let us know when that happens. I indeed liked this.
Dude this is incredible. THIS is what it’s all about. Helping someone else & stepping up their game, whether it’s tips & tricks, simple tweaks or even gifting them with new equipment. This is awesome dude & this is the kind of content that makes me an even bigger fan
It stayed with me when you said in that video with the other Pete on lake Como that once you get to the top you gotta send the elevator back down. I liked it because out of your mouth it sounded in very humble and altruistic way, and I'm happy to see that you keep doing it. You've been a huge inspiration for the last 5 years, and it's great to see you at work in building a great community of artists and creators :) Cheers Pete :)
Dude, plain and simple you are awesome. I’ve learnt and gained and improved so much with my craft purely because of your videos. And then you doing something like this just speaks volumes. Man, keep up the awesome work you do. If you’re ever in Texas it would be a frikin life goal just to be able to meet you and take a picture with you.
THIS. The fact that you are pouring into new creators in these personal and real ways is just MAGIC. Keep it up and definitely bring us along for the ride!
Wonderful story, well done Pete and awesome of Canon to help someone in their business, Peter you are an amazing selfless man, your amazing and I love the talented people all around x
One of my favourite vids! I just love seeing people so passionate about what they do, especially in the creative space. Thanks Pete, for also using your passion to showcase and collaborate with other wonderful creative people, and for sharing that with us.
I love how genuine love and care gets rewarded. I think this is a perfect example of Pete loving his craft as well as the guys over at Coup de Tete, and just coming together to make something amazing. It makes me happy to see stuff like this because (at least where I'm from) people usually feel someone else's win is their loss. Anyway! Thanks for the amazing amazing videos Pete! You inspire me to be me and make art my own way!
Love the story, and so fun to see the evolution over the decade. I love going back and seeing that in my own photos and art. My favorite part though is your genuine love for your job and hats there Pete. That brought such a smile on. Have a good one! 🤠🎨😁
Giving my product photography starved brain it’s much needed dopamine hit. Good on ya Pete and goons on Coup de tete! Their hats are insane and I love seeing them
Dude this vid was Awesome, I love the footage of inside the hat store, and the way the light highlights the hat on the dark timber, and the use of skulls and playing cards has such a cool style about it.. this would be my second fav vid of yours after the bucket shot...
Yes. Keep doing this style of video. And go into detail of how the photos can be improved or changed in regards to making more sales or creating a brands look
I needed this, I literally needed this. Been feeling pretty flat with my photography lately. It's been a hot minute since I watched your channel I will admit, but god I've missed this
Love the fact you are helping smaller people grow as well. I’m working on a new personal project that I didn’t know I was creating until recently. It’s shots of common objects, mostly macro shots of common objects. I’m using my 35mm lens to do it cause it has the capability to do some macro. I’m trying not to be a lens collector at this point, I have like five lenses I don’t use anymore. But I can’t get rid of. All that being said I’d love a 100mm macro lens. It would make it easier to do the project.
So the video fades out, and I think to myself, “I love watching Peter love his job.” Then the video fades back in with Peter saying how much he loves his job. Epic! It's so great the way you give back, dude! 🤘
Thank you, Peter, your definitely an inspiration man, its always amazing to see your work and how you get it done. Thumbs up. Canon to the rescue, nice kit and setup. The images rock for sure.
Thanks for the energy that is coming through your videos. I really enjoy them, and fuel me for the day with enthusiasm for even what I do, which is different from photography. Man, I need a hat like those :D
Really find your product photography videos inspiring, along with your enthusiasm. I reallly love the lighting these guys use for their products .... so difficult to get this effect, yet their setup looks so simple.
I know of hate my job currently. I’m new and suck which is to be expected stepping into a new position but the sense of being overwhelmed is almost paralyzing at this point. It’s nice to see someone who not only enjoys the work they do but is also exceptionally. Something to work towards for sure.
Very cool, and very nice for you. Curious about something though... they were shooting with a Nikon D800 which is a first class, top shelf camera, professional-level camera that wasn't in need of replacement... So as much as it was nice of Canon to give you gear to give to them, had you known they were using a Nikon D800, don't you think the Canon gear could have gone to someone else that really needed an upgrade?
This is pure LOVE Peter mann helping good people and helping each other is what its all about thank you for taking your platform and using to help more other then yourself Hats off to you my man :) see what i did there ? ok ill stop PEACE!!
I just want to let you know, it's cause of you that I was able to pick up my first camera back in 2017 and to pursue photography! Little did I know by watching your video, you inspired me to take photography seriously, back in 2021 I quit my 9-5 job (best buy just like you lol) to do have a full time wedding photography and videography business. Last year I became a nomatic ambassador too, thank you for constantly inspiring me and for also inspiring people them in your video! I wouldn't have made it far without your new creative videos for pushing not only me but my growing my team too! I can't wait for many more videos and to see where your successful creative life takes you! Rooting for you :)
We must always try to improve. I have been re-organizing my office and this video gave me an idea. I’m going to try and set up a dedicated area for photos.
Not going to lie. I am a bit envious of that kit...but not only that, but also how well those hat suit you; I put on a simple cap on and look like Toad from SuperMario. Dammit McKinnon!! 😆
Pete, you should create a course teaching your filmmaking skills. Honestly, I would be the first one to buy it. PLEASE DO IT. Your videos are the prettiest ive been watching for the last 6 years. I would love to understand how you think, creative process, color grading process, beyond being a little bit closer to you. Arghhh that'd be just awesome.
Peter, you are the reason that i am a filmmaker today... and after 5 years of watching the first video from your channel you are still inspiring me with every single video! it is one of my goals to see you in person. you are awesome!
Great video Peter. The journey they've been on is awesome. It helps having an interesting product to shoot. Our business is growing, packing and selling onions and I find it hard to find interesting ways to shoot an Onion so give up before I start.
I’ve been here before you’ve had a million subscribers. You’re one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to photography… if I’d be able to even work remotely with you to grow my own craft, that would be a dream come true. COVID killed my photography business (I mainly shot big dance battle events) and had to sell 80% of my kit… all I have now is my Canon 6D and my 50mm lens. If you’d could give some insights in how to be even more creative with that… that would be incredible. (I know you probably won’t read this because of all the comments… but I did want to share.) you’re a big inspiration. And I hope to one day meet you irl
Love the Video! I also love giving back and help people, such a great thing to be able to do. You Rock Peter!

I'm so glad I have stayed with you all these years. You got me into photography and I can't thank you enough for guiding me down this rabbit hole
This is my favourite video of yours for ages! Please do more like this. Definitely interested to see more product photography too!
Mr. Peter! A big hug from Puerto Rico! You have a big heart and you’re a big inspiration to many people!
Gracias por todo lo que nos das!
By the way… Hi Kirk! 👋
Wholesome goodness! Excited to see where their photo/video journey goes. And those hats are all amazing!

I know what it feels like to love what you do for a living! It shows in you and the folks at Coup de Tete.
gotta love the "give back" stage of a career, you make all the connections and have the choice to just keep it all for yourself or give it to other people doing cool things that could use a little push and guidance.
So authentic. When people like you step in and help others, ah, it’s just so perfect!
You have stepped up the game for so many of us. I wish I had the time to put in all the stuff you tought me into my work. I mean I just do videography for a hobby but you gave us so much tiny and big Tips over the years. Just thank you.

This video is so cool Peter and I’m so happy you enjoy helping other people and creators out 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pete, you've never stopped making people better! We love you and it's so awesome to see people be so blessed! I would love a new Canon R5! :)
What a great idea and concept! Pete visiting and helping people / businesses with photography. 👍👍👍

Your VLOGs are so aspirational. How they cover topics yet showcase creativity!
I love seeing the process of things (because it makes me think of my own process!) I look forward to Coup de tete on UA-cam! Definitely let us know when that happens. I indeed liked this.
Do it! Do it! Do it! - The progress and behind the scenes thoughts are so valuable. Thanks for this follow up!!

I love that you support and inspire niche products and such small companies. As always highly inspiring !
Looks like we have scammers here ...

Would love to have you come on down to Maine and show us how to take better photos. Anytime.

Dang…. Top 5 pm vids of all time.. great fricken job!!!!!
I was so hoping that you’d say: “I called Canon…” when you were in the shop. So good.
