My car uses a metal key, you can kill the engine in any gear. I spoke with some co-workers about this incident and they were clear you cannot "accidentally' shut down the engine with a pushbutton start while the car is in drive. I would assume a 300,000 $ Bentley would have a pushbutton start.
If the car was on cruise control during rain or wet surface, the tire will hydroplane and you could lose control of the car. This appears as the most likely reason for the tragic accident.
They won't tell you about any details in this report. It was a $300,000 Bently they were driving. They were on their way to a KISS concert. There are clearly tons of parts including the engine,...it actually looks typical for an accident of this nature. I've seen a van shredded by just rail road tracks,...and the engine at the end of the debris field. The thing is, if there was a back license plate, that might be one of the first pieces as the bumper skins come off rather easily. I can see the front plate not being found, but the back one ..... comparing this to Shanksville, or the pentagon,..is not worth responding to... but we have had some spy deaths that are UK-US related lately. They were in a Bentley. Bentley has problems with a sticky accelerator, to the point of a massive recall. I have a feeling that, that's what happened. My condolences to the family.
They have now been identified. My condolences to their family and friends, they sound like they were great people. That said, I am disgusted by all the people here and elsewhere still trying to make this into anything but a bizarre and horrible accident. Shame on all of you. Have a little respect.
They were rich so obviously if you can afford a 200,000 car, you probably always have a full tank. Which for that car was probably a 15 gallon tank. 15 gallons of gas would easily light up like that.
I think they taught us a bigger lesson on how the media actually works and how quickly misinformation can be spread around this incident is a perfect example of mainstream media misinformation
If terrorism is ruled out, and the investigation is secretive, maybe the authorities suspect foul play. That would be, some other person sabotaged the car to accelerate like that. The eye witness claimed the car must have been going over 100mph.
If the car was on cruise control during rain or wet surface, the tire will hydroplane and you could lose control of the car. This appears as the most likely reason for the tragic accident.
Dear heavens, they must have been terrified! I cannot imagine their family/friends grief/horror at this news. Deepest Condolences to their family and friends. Hoping the border crossing agent heals quickly and that answers can be found to ensure this kind of tragedy never occurs again. So sad.😢😮
With nothing left of the car aside from parts of the engine block, there would be no computer to get information from leading up to the crash. However, would a 300,000 $ Bentley have a terrestrial / satellite link similar to a Tesla to report GPS vehicle position for tracking in case of theft, and other vehicle parameters for diagnostics ?
I don't understand why they won't release the names of the victims or the make and model of the vehicle. Does that somehow compromise the investigation?
There's generally a courtesy to families that "they" be notified first. Immediate reporting on an "incident" may move at "internet speed", regardless of facts (along with all the associated Canadian Terrorist BS), to generate fear and clicks. The truth may not be so sensational, and therefore will be only reported when the commotion dies down, somewhere on the back page.

The crazy thing...This is the couple...Kurt and Gail Villani...The problem is as you can see from what I found on google. Kurt passed away in 2022. This makes no sense at all!
Those Bentley's cost nearly $300,000 and are reported to have problems with their accelerators sticking due to a problem with the on-board computer that controls the fuel injectors. Several years ago the Audi's had the same problem.
Was it Jimmy Hoffa? Did a witch cast a spell? Space lasers? Did the couple have tea with Putin? Was it the Rapture, or just Rap music? Was it Snakes in a Bentley? Cute, frisky kittens?
Was most likely she was driving. I say that because if a man were driving and the accelerator got stuck he would of probably thought to turn off the car or something but a woman might freak out.
I seriously think it was drug/alcohol related. Could have a small chance to be a malfunction, unless it's an ev. They refuse to release information which is usually for extreme cases
When I first heard of this it was the first time I watched Fox News in years and they said a car packed with explosives went off went it tried ramming a checkpoint. Once again the network should be taken off the air after a aploogy
So the entire community knows who the victims are but no names can be released? And what is the big mystery behind what vehicle it is? If it is not terrorist related, then why is information being withheld? And why is the entire rainbow bridge still closed?
Something very suspicious about this accident, I wonder if this car was very computerized . I believe cars that are heavily computerized can be hacked and taken control of similar to how the recent fighter jet that crashed was hacked . Why won't they release the type of car it was?
None of this makes sense. The country club members can know who it is but we can't? If they were so well-known it's easy to contact next of kin and wouldn't they be informed before country club members and friends? Why such secrecy? Are they local officials or something?
These are local people who learned it by word of mouth. It isn't really a secret. It is pretty standard practice to wait a day or two before naming poeple killed in accidents on tv.
That's incredibly sad - and puzzling. Maybe this was a software malfunction that made the car go out of control like that. It may have been an electric car because many are capable of reaching those kind of speeds in a matter of seconds, and also the type of explosion seems to be more like a battery than a gas tank. I hope the cause can be determined.
One witness said the car was driving erratically and sped up to pass another car (which it did) after that point either the driver or car became out of control. Perhaps the accelerator malfunctioned because of that. Road rage may have been a contributor. IMO
No. Car was doing like 100, and it had to swerve to avoid hitting another car, that's when it hit the curb which acted like a ramp at that speed and the car started flying.
As a Canadian I need my passport and a reason to travel to the USA But I can fly to Mexico and get into the USA without anything It is amazing how much more worried the US government is about Canadians coming into the country than anyone from all the other countries in central and South America
This story sounds more like something was terribly wrong with the car more than cross country terrorism. Like the video pointed out, they ruled out terrorism already.
You don’t need a “passport and a reason” to travel to the US you can use your drivers license. I went recently to renew my transponder and got on the bridge crossing by accident. I had no passport and was able to get into the US just fine I was also able to get back into Canada just fine without my passport. when American media falsely claims things that’s what makes us the enemy
When I was in college around 2012 I had gotten a ride home in my friend’s ‘97 Toyota Camry. The throttle got stuck, the brakes wasn’t slowing us down enough & he panicked; I put the car into neutral & slowly applied the hand brake until we pulled over & shut the car off. I’m also reminded of that Lexus acceleration incident; there’s a 911 recording of this, it was eventually determined to be a user error. The person confused the accelerator with the brake petal. It’s horrifying but sometimes our perceptions can mistake our reality.
From a mechanics stand point you just blew up your engine. Definitely better than letting the car get away full speed but...heres whet really happens if you do that.. if an operator of a vehicle puts said vehicle into neutral and the vehicles accelerator is malfunctioning and stuck wide open, the engine instantly pegs redline+ and has a high likely to fire a rod through the side of the block momentarily. I did see these Bentley had a previous recall for accelerator sticking on a previous right drive model which apparently this does not apply to.
@@axlef1513most people on my country drive manual transmissions. Q. Is it possible to put a vehicle into neutral while the accelerator is being floored? On a manual it is tough to do, unless you apply sufficient force, as the gears are engaged and meshed in under force. I realise an auto has a liquid clutch which is not that direct but these modern expensive sports cars, I think, have tiptronic dry clutches working under electronic control.
@@meisievannancy In regards to if it is possible to put a vehicle into neutral while being floored, as you mentioned it depends on a few things like if it is an automatic or standard or if it is a newer electronic vehicle vs an older vehicle. There are variables but in general older automatic transmissions will click into neutral with a slight bump, even with a pedal to the floor, wheres a standard would take a significant force I would think but I have certainly never actually tried.

If the car was on cruise control during rain or wet surface, the tire will hydroplane and you could lose control of the car. This appears as the most likely reason for the tragic accident.

There are clearly tons of parts including the engine,...it actually looks typical for an accident of this nature.
Fox news alert, more crazy
Kinda like when Dems pushed the J6 narrative and now we see the video from inside the Capitol building which doesn't fit the narrative.

So two Saints died in a freaky accident, that's even more suspicious now
Dear heavens, they must have been terrified! I cannot imagine their family/friends grief/horror at this news.
Deepest Condolences to their family and friends. Hoping the border crossing agent heals quickly and that answers can be found to ensure this kind of tragedy never occurs again.
So sad.😢😮
Why was terrorism ruled out So quickly?!
So the impeccable background/reputation vs. the video clip suggests some sort of suicide-by-automobile, or a stuck throttle situation. Truly bizarre.
I don't understand why they won't release the names of the victims or the make and model of the vehicle. Does that somehow compromise the investigation?
Lots of money involved it’s better to know exactly what they are talking about and not just guessing.

As a Canadian I need my passport and a reason to travel to the USA
But I can fly to Mexico and get into the USA without anything
It is amazing how much more worried the US government is about Canadians coming into the country than anyone from all the other countries in central and South America
They want an illegal workforce that will work for less than the new minimum wages.
This story sounds more like something was terribly wrong with the car more than cross country terrorism. Like the video pointed out, they ruled out terrorism already.
Wtf does that have to do with this news story?????? Border crossing issues played no role in this accident. Start sh!t somewhere else👉
Because Canadians have funny mouths.
Where were they before the crash, were they drugged?
When I was in college around 2012 I had gotten a ride home in my friend’s ‘97 Toyota Camry. The throttle got stuck, the brakes wasn’t slowing us down enough & he panicked; I put the car into neutral & slowly applied the hand brake until we pulled over & shut the car off. I’m also reminded of that Lexus acceleration incident; there’s a 911 recording of this, it was eventually determined to be a user error. The person confused the accelerator with the brake petal. It’s horrifying but sometimes our perceptions can mistake our reality.
Pedal. A petal is on a flower.
