Hi guys, first time to your channel. Had I been you I would have made a cardboard pattern from the ship's bow to were the farthest cut was to be made. Leaving the webbing deck supports in place Then I would drill holes in the corners of the plate where the webbing meets. Go up on deck, take a straight edge and draw a line from hole to hole. Plasma cut from hole to hole remove steel plates then grind out the remaining metal on the webbing supports. Lay the pattern down on steel and trace it,then cut. Tweak the steel to fit, weld. This is how I would have done the job. One hole plate not patches. You wouldn't have to worry about new rust holes breaking through at some later date in that area. This is just my opinion. Best of luck on your ship.
Hello! Thanks for the input! Yeah in other vids we’ve done similar. I guess we have so much work to do that this was a compromise. In a future vid we’ll show the seamless finished product. Thanks for watching, we’ve had a real bump in views with this latest vid!

Oh fantastic mate! Yeah she’s a labour of love.
Try to awoid 90' corners on the plates being replaced, risk of cracks forming easier.
I’ll have to refer this comment to Joff as he’s the boilermaker, but thanks for watching!
Holy crap, look at the views! Well done brother.

Hey bro. Yeah once we get the deck done we’ll blast.
A better name as "Crystal Jane" would be "Rusty Jane" for this ship. Good luck for your work!
Yeah she needs some love!
