  • Finally I have some time to built the enclosure for my LaserPecker 4 and then may as well start my next laser engraver project. The Neje Max 4 IMO is the best laser for the buck with a lot of feature which only available with more expensive machine. All in total I spend around £750 which £150 when toward my air compressor which powers the air assist as well as my nailer, duster, sprayer .......
I learnt a lot from building the Neje Max 4 and it did not disappoint, changing the Z height without touching the machine is a game changer for me. The linear rail has always been on my wish list since the experience with wobble laser head with belt and wheels....
This video is not sponsored by NEJE but a big thank you to Great Carve for sending me the unique Laser material pack to test the machine with.

Hi Benson. Thanks for your videos on the Neje Max 4. Could you tell me some details about the camera you use in your enclosure ( with Lightburn for framing etc.) please?

amzn.to/3YIXH9G I butcher the case and glue the internals to the lid facing down, 73 cm above from the bed

Hello! Do you have a sheet for the enclosure, or a 3D model? I wan't to build one myself and I like yours! Didn't saw any specific video for it after this one

I just make it up as I go so no design notes etc. mostly made of scraps of what I have left in my shed

If you want to do incremental cutting, create sub layers and set the Z setting for each. Also the tool holder is 50 mm, put it on work piece lower the laser in the slide. lower the laser 25 mm or set Z offset to 25 mm. or if you want it 4 mm in 29 mm, for the next sub layer set it to 31 next 35 and so forth. of coarse you only have 25 mm of play. So effectively you can only offset that (24-24.5) So total of 8 sublayers, alternating between 4 and 2 mm. totla of 4 each.

I am too lazy to do sub layers so I just do lower by x each pass and do multiple pass. Will look into sub layer if I do need more passes than the amount allows

@@BCreviews In the vid you said the laser was not smart enough, but its a programmer thing, You have to think ahead of the machine.you are the brains. old programmer saying , "garbage in and garbage out". A little thought saves a lot of time!
