I cant lie. I wasnt a fan of Gabriels, because he has beaten several of my heroes! Lol. But, Gabriel Ive really enjoyed your channel. Feel like Ive gotten to know you a bit and my mind has changed. I am now a big fan! Thanks Gabriel for taking time out of your day to educate simpletons like myself!
I believe Anthony Joshua, Andre Ward and Gabriel Varga are the three most genuine people in fighting. And Gabriel is the most humble of them all for having as many titles he does. And. He and Rachel are total class act
@@matthew-jy5jp GSP is a really good balance of being nice and kind but also having a warrior mentality. Wonderboy is a bit too nice, even with his fighting style imo GSP is obv a very kind man but his infamous corner moment just shows the mentality they have hahaha "I don't care if you pulled your groin, George. Hit him with your groin!"
I found also that a tennis ball and a wall can vastly improve coordination and timing. Saw beterbiev in some pre-fight video bouncing a tennis ball in crazy ways and was wondering wtf he was doing. That was the day I stumbled upon tennis ball fu. Catching the ball with your hand right by your face teaches you to auto catch jabs at real speed. (I was catching jabs in my first sparring session with out even realizing it and was surprised when I watched it back). Also focusing on a perfect throw teaches you how to deliver precise strikes, how to reload your guard, how to properly shift your bodyweight. Also if you can keep a rhythm while throwing the ball against the wall, you will learn how to unlock your bodies natural flow state. DONT SLEEP ON THE TENNIS BALL.
I have been training MMA for a while, but decided to give kickboxing a try since I've been a fan of Gabriel. I have an amateur kickboxing tournament in a couple weeks. I feel confident. 😁
Awesome vid. Something I do a lot when I train is consider my how much "burst" I have internally. Attacking using a bit more gas than defending, but defending also uses some gas. Your punches have a different gas tank than your movement or your kick, but it's all connected. When you add MMA, you add even more layers to this too. I'm always thinking when I spar or train, but I try to keep the thought extremely simple and streamlined, without emotion. Basic level thoughts and bird eye view thoughts. I think about keeping up activity and movement constantly, trying to avoid being flatfooted because a moving target is always harder to hit. If I'm thinking jab, I'll jab, but sometimes I'll think jab and start the "animation" for it and then think "no kick" and switchup. Tricking myself to trick my opponents. Aka fakes.
Teach us timing? Nayyyy! Teach us how to get a lovely wife as you did. 😂 Short hair? Nayyyyy! I like longer hair. What do you think about Salvador Sanchez haircut?
Hi Gabriel, Here is an idea for an other episode, I would like to know your thoughts about steroids or other products used by fighters, some say all professional athletes are on steroids... Is that true? Or is it a taboo subject? Was glory testing the athletes?
I like using a sort of karate stance similar to what Henry Cejudo uses a lot. You use one of your hands to measure distance and also sometimes to blind or distract. You have to be very careful with doing it though of course. This may be heavily dependent on your overall body shape and limb length though, it feels really natural for me.
I have a doubt Is cardio more important I am a amateur level kickboxer but i am so lean skinny like when you were in your 20s ( came to know abt that bcoz of your old fight footage ) I have technique And pretty decent speed should I do more cardio If i do that will i become more lean and not powerful
Looking at Gabriel's other videos, I would suggest doing explosive movement body weight workouts. You will gain cardio and strength at the same time. Look up "Gabriel Workout"
anyone here who has a tip regarding the following: the trainer just give feedback to the fighters, everyone else in the group class gets ignored. But we all pay our membership
focus on self-improvement. Filming yourself on the bag helps a ton, for example roundhouse kicks do 20,15,10 fast kicks both sides and then 5,4,3,2,1 really hard kicks and analyze your own footage and be self-aware in your movements. Training alone requires a lot more thinking than just going to a gym and doing stuff to get sweaty.
Gabriel's content helps me a lot. Since this episode is about timing I'd just like to make note of the timing of the advertisement: that was too long. Trimming hair does seem > 1/8th as important as develop timing in combat sports to me. Did I miss a marker or timestamp that would've helped me skip the ad?
Not really sure what shaving your balls has to do with this Channel or fighting. And professional fighters get waxed they don't actually shave their whole bodies

Gabriel is the man. Just checked to see if he was about 6 figures yet, and he’s a 136k🤜. Good stuff, I’ve been here since almost the beginning
Definitely one of the best martial arts channels on UA-cam, such great content, well explained. Please keep the drills vids coming!!
Great Tips Man That Solo Drill at the end was a great example thanks for providing this for free

Petr Yan's timing (messing with opponent's timing) let's him deal with longer reach opponents.

Anyone got any tips for finding range I find it hard to find my target as everyone I spar is taller/bigger than me
I remember myself watching a video from icy mike(hard2hurt) called "the real reason you can't get inside and land punches". Just try it.
