    Alright guys, let's not beat around the bush, this video turned into a disaster while editing it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ and I apologize for that. Next weeks video is going to be pretty cool and different so stay tuned. Thanks for watching everyone have a great day / night

    I forgot: I really like hearing your date stamps in the video. It helps me track the weather for the exact time of year, along with what chores you are doing at which exact parts of the year. I think it's great that you have included them! I had noticed you were, and it is different than most folks, and it is very welcome information!

  • @frasermathers2287

    Thanks for the video Ryan, and no need to apologize. This is why I spend 96% more time on UA-cam than watching TV, as we get real life events on here. If it goes wrong then it goes wrong and that's life. I like when you date stamp as it makes it more relatable to the time of year and weather, although I was laughing to my self seeing you in a T Shirt and thinking, you would not be doing that over here in Scotland today lol. Your mist/sprayer for the pigs is great, and your right, why spend more money than is needed. For certain things, I will always buy the best products, but for many others as long as its works, then that's fine. My mother used to always say" Look after the penny's(Cents) and the pounds(Dollars) will look after them self's, meaning that every small fraction you can save, then it makes a bigger contribution overall! Hope you have a great day.

    Ryan you can always do voice overs if you lose the audio.
    Horseradish must grow great in sand.
    If you need more storage to keep things out of the weather think about a loft in the old grain bin.

      Yes, I could of, but I think it is better if you redo the whole video, of course I didn't do a good job in this video at all lol. We are thinking about doing that with the grain bin, but who knows it would be a cool project. Thanks for watching

    Great video Ryan! Mentioning the date is helpful, but also could be added to the video description if forgotten. Nice repairs and updates for the new pigs. The mister will be nice for the hot days. It was a little heavier mist than what I expected, but it should be much less drippy on hot dry days. I liked the marking pencil.🤣 Fire...burns!🔥😁 Very much looking forward to the horseradish shorts video. As I started with...Great Video! No need to apologize here.
    I thought I'd mention one other thing. I know you have commented on Trenton's videos (Pennsylvania Dairyman ~ just reached 10k) and I think you had also commented on another farmer from Pennsylvania - also about your age. His name is Landon and his channel was PA Young Dairyman. He had over 4k subscribers before he got hit with strikes. Most of his videos had been deleted by the strike force. He has started a new channel and has posted some maple syrup videos. The name of his new channel is Cross Roads Farm if you'd like to check his new channel out. I can personally tell you the maple syrup they make at his farm is outstanding! In addition to their cows, they also have chickens and grow some nice crops in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Sorry for the long message.

      @teenagefarmer  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, yeah, LoL. I didn't want to walk all the way up to the house to get a pencil for only one cut LoL 🤣🤣🤣. I appreciate the kind words.
      Thanks for mentioning that as I didn't realize that he passed 10k I always look forward to seeing his videos. I don't recall watching the other channel you mentioned, but who knows, I might of seen some of his older videos.
      Went and looked him up, that is a shame, I'm going to reach out to him and see if he responds, and I'll probably drop his name as I'm sure that that must be very frustrating. Thanks for sharing have a good night

  • @CuriousEarthMan
    @CuriousEarthMan Рік тому +2

    Thanks Ryan, I did enjoy the video a lot! If you ever want to show 'boring stuff', it's ok with me, like (even a few more of) the details of what you did with the partition wall inside the pen, even if you want to speed it up so most people won't get tired of it. Also voice-overs might save you some time if audio track doesn't record, but I figure you know that already :)
    I had a crazy idea before you started talking about the misters. Do you know what a 'sail shade' is? I was wondering in the heat, if you suspended a tarp or other material above the pen's roof several, or a few feet above it, so the sun doesn't hit the tin directly, if that would keep the pigs cooler and under less stress? It's just an idea to keep them from baking and eating less. I leave it up to you to think about and decide though, though happy to help if needed.
    I like going the cheap way lots of times, if it gets the job done, like your misters do. I know they make micro mister heads for irrigation, and the dollar store sometimes sells micro misting bars in the summer for cheap for cooling people. I don't know how many gallons per minute they consume, but some may screw right into pvc pipe, so two 5' lengths or so of pvc or even some of your old hose might be enough. I haven't priced them lately! If what you have works, and it's paid for, that's probably the way to go :) Just sharing a thought.
    I also wanted to ask you if you ever show any animals you raise, like in a 4H, of FFA competition, like at fair time? Just curious about that.
    I appreciate that you want to do a good job with everything you do, and I think most of us are patient and like to see the results, even when they aren't 'perfect', but provide lessons to learn for the future. I'm more interested in seeing what you are up to, without judging the results, except in a positive way; seeing the good in it. I almost forgot, I'm very interested in seeing the horseradish being harvested if you care to show any of it. Can you smell it when they dig it? Would pigs eat any of the discarded bits if they let you pick them up? Just curious! :) Thanks again for sharing with us, and sorry for the very long comments!

    • @teenagefarmer
      @teenagefarmer  Рік тому

      Yeah, hanging a tarp isn't a bad Idea, the problem is with anything like that is the wind, it's so wide open where we live that it's almost always Windy, and it's hard enough to keep a tarp down against hay bales or whatever, so hanging it would be even harder. But it's not a bad idea I will definitely be thinking about that as I think it would do a lot of good. I actually bought a Mister like what you are talking about. The problem with it was that it didn't let enough water out and the water would be hot by the time it got through the hose. I don't do anything with 4H, or FFA I went to 4H a Little with my sister, let's just say I didn't like it because I was the only one there for pigs, literally everyone else was there for horses LoL. I think it would of been cool, but to be honest, I'm really not into that kinda stuff. For example, as you probably know, I tuned 16 a month ago , I've only driven three times by myself, not because I'm scared of driving, I just don't want to go anywhere 😂😂😂. Thanks for watching
