I really like this song. It is the perfect soundtrack to a memory or two of mine. As soon as I heard Good Bye Old Friend those few memories were pulled up in a visceral way leaving a bittersweet nostalgia behind. Thank you for saying in a beautiful song what was once buried and hard to think about.
Finally found the song that sums up my feelings for my old friend. He took his life this year, on my birthday no less. We were best friends, practically brothers, we grew up together, and experienced so much of life. Sadly we had a falling out because he started to get addicted to drugs, and manipulate people. I warned him, and tried helping him untill I saw no other option but to cut ties. I always kept tabs on him tho, I wanted him to over come his demons and become successful. He seemed to of gotten better and was doing well. He had a job, and was just starting a family. He had a baby boy, funny enough just a week after my birthday. Unfortunately his new job was too hard on him, and he fell back to drugs to try and get through. I guess his demons ended up getting the better of him in the end. He didnt even get to see his sons first birthday.
Same, friend fucking up, cut ties fired him, drugs, dead a week later

Lost one of my best friends yesterday.. she was a sweet girl and she was always there when you were down.. hit me pretty hard since I’ve been working out of home state for a year and half now and haven’t been home since November for the little brothers birthday. I know the family is torn as well.. she was a good dog certainly the best we’ll ever have or seen. We’ll miss you forever ginger until again sweet girl

This song is truly the definition of "mood" depending on your mood, this song has a different meaning to it but man how come this song give me such much nostalgia. The good old days, where we used to play and talk by the fire, going for a hunt in forest, cooking together, talk about our life ahead and those laugher we share at the middle of the night. Is ashame how just one single mistake lead you a different outcome, it is what it is my friend. This world is rough and it just ain't for a people with good souls and heart. my friend showed me this song a few months back and told me his dad used to listen to it in the car at night. that friend was just taken into foster care a little over a week ago. i hope i'll be able to see him again soon, he hasn't been able to contact me since then. he was in the hospital after he called the police on his mother. i hope he's doing good.

My former best friend introduced me to this song. I know he'll never want to see or speak to me again. But for 4 minutes while listening to this song, I remembered only the good moments we did share. Thank you for this song.
DM3 was one of me and my soul mates favorite bands. We knew all the words to every song and there were many a late night merry drunken sing alongs. He was a tortured soul. His life was one trauma after the next. The night of the full moon in May he couldn't handle the pain anymore and ended his life. We will dance in my dreams for all eternity. My heart aches but I know he is free.

I know everyone is going to say im stupid for feeling sad about this but this song really reminds me of my first car, my old jeep. I had it for 15 years and it went everywhere. We drove all over the cointry with together, on road, off road, snow mud rain, in traffic and in the forest. She never let me down, and always came back from the dead. So many times in fact that i nicknamed her revnant. But recenlt she didn't come back to life. It wasnt a car accident, although we had a few of those, it was just old age. I miss that jeep. And yes i know its stupid to be sad over a car, but it was my car and i was her driver. Goodbye old friend.
