@@statueofliberty1132 Actually fear is heliotrope which is technically a tone of purple but Ennui is Violet. Violet is considered a hue of purple because of it's close association with Purple in painting, but Violet is only made from Red and Blue because of how our brain works. In actuality Violet is a Blue which appears Purplish to our eyes because the brain needed a way to make it look even less green than blue is because of the way our color opponent process works in our eyes. Therefore ''Violet'' biologically speaking is not symbolic of Red mixed with Blue, it's symbolic of a Vibration above blue.
Fear has an element of ''the unknown'' similar to Boredom'' Which is why mixing anger and sadness doesn't technically make fear. It is more so true that Fear and Ennui are Purplish in color because the unknowns of Terror in fear and boredom in ennui are able to invoke feelings of sadness or frustration.

@@user-el8uh9rs2b So they are emotions, how can they date? They are basically parts of Riley's mind. Sure they have their own personalities to an extent, but she can feel any combination of multiple emotions at the same time, so who can really say which ones should date?
@@jamesworley9888 they can. As enjoyable as the Inside Out movies are, they are far from rigorous in their explorations of the minds of living beings. The way they are written, it is obvious each emotion has multiple emotions of its own.
From my point of view, I would say each one of those beings is basically in charge of an emotion. We can see in the Joy goes delusional scene, as well as in the chasm of forgotten memories scene, that she can feel and express both anger and sadness. Working with what we are given and assuming we are talking about their little cinematic universe, and assuming we are aware of how intricate human minds are in the real world, I have no problem in the idea of the emotions dating.

@@jamesworley9888 that is a very good question. Unfortunately, and I am not trying to be sarcastic here, none of these are my characters. I had no say in the making of this particular cartoon universe. And I can't be sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a try; it seems you might be asking if it goes on down and on down and on down ad infinitum, and does each emotion have a console in its own little brain, and does it keep going on down to an atomic level? I would have no idea what the writers and developers were thinking when they wrote the screenplays. My personal feelings I thought it would be no they do not continue on down. In terms of possibilities based upon some ideas I have heard about from some real people? I think it's some sort of common communication network available to living beings. Or we can think of what I just said as absolute gibberish and enjoy the movies about these emotions. That would be up to you. 🙂

Fear will fall in love with Ennui because of how similar they both look
Sadness will be attracted to Embarrassment because of how similar he is to Bing Bong

Ok so sadness has a crush on embarrassment and embarrassment likes her back but they both hide it but at the end of the movie when there all happy and everything something happens they start dating and then (know this probably isnt really accurate but would be cool) sadness gets pregnant and her baby is the emotion love which grows the more Riley loves someone. Like how coop would that be!!
