The skit "having a non-white name" is my #1 because it's extremely relatable for me because my last name is German and almost no one pronounces it right.

@@ZenoDovahkiin Let me tell you about my surname. It is not only _air-quotes_ "white" but also English. It is so very specifically English that _it is the name of a village in England_ . And _still_ no-one can pronounce it or spell it.
lol whenever my husband's name gets pronounced wrong (and it's not even that hard) he'll say "that works. I've been called worse"
Like 50% of the time people can pronounce my first name but I've only once heard someone correctly pronounce my last name (It's literally pronounced bear... the A and the E are just switched in the spelling... it also just means bear...)
Wow. Not only do people not understand German phonetics, but they’ve clearly never read Little Women, then. Sad.
I love how your mom incorporates you as a person, not just your acting, into her ratings. She is happy to see her son laugh and enjoy what he is doing so it goes on the list. Your mom rating things is so great!
I was so happy "Having a non-white name" was one of her favorites because it's my favorite and the very skit that showed me your channel
Ikr, same! It was so wholesome to see.
Just apologizing on all white people’s behalf lol…
I once had a boss call my coworker Natnael “Nathaniel” for over a year. Like, bruh. I KNOW you know this guy’s name, quit acting like it’s chill to correct people on what their NAME should be.
Happens to Asian people, happens to Black people, but boy if you hire some white boy from Sweden everyone learns Thorbjorg Smurfledorfen’s PROPER name… smh
Sometimes it’s straight-up arrogance, and/or not caring enough. And that completely sucks. Everyone deserves to hear their real name.
same!
@@emilysmith2965 you do realize other races kan pronounce Korean names wrong to right?
I dont know why people always think it is just white people that pronounce everyone's name wrong.
@@emilysmith2965 not just Asian or Black people. There was a Somali girl I worked with, her name was Kawsar (pronounced something like "co-sir") and the majority of our coworkers either didn't know her name or didn't know how to pronounce it. As for the managers, every time without fail, they managed butcher this poor girl's name.
She left after the way they treated her. I don't blame her - she was making less than everyone else, despite having the same position, fulfilling the same tasks, and being a part of that workplace over a year.

God am I enjoying this because I'm vicariously having a career and a mother who is proud
@Pickled Pomegranate me too (:
We’re proud of you! 👏👏👏
"When I'm not busy killin' like a villain I write raps." Is still one of the funniest lines you have ever delivered to me
I really love her explanations of why she loves your work. 3:10 she is so precious
I love how she attaches each of those skit to a specific memory
I love that you can hear just how proud she is that he’s just enjoying himself in the videos. It doesn’t matter that she doesn’t understand all the jokes, she loves that he’s having fun and making people smile while doing so.

I like how she picks a lot of her favorite ones just because it reminds her of when you were her sweet little boy xD
This warms my heart so much, your mother is a TREASURE TO BE PROTECTED UNTIL THE LAST MAN
She had better choices than the fans did and she didn't know why she picked them half the time. Just, intuitively better taste
Your mom: Strongly enjoys expectation subversion comedy
You: Choose to become a voice actor, internet comedian, etc., instead of a doctor or engineer or something
Your mom: Supportive and involved
Wholesome and fitting.
I love that Sungwon's mom had more than a few picks that were based solely on the happy memories of raising him they reminded her of.
His mom is a goddamn Cinnabon; she seems like the sweetest person ^_^
I love his mom so much she reminds me of my grandma who passed, she used to say simular stuff about my jokes, so brought me a lot of joy seeing a similar feeling
His mom doesn't always get the jokes, but she just loves seeing her son.
Your mom is the only person on this planet who can explain the joke and have it still be funny
I like how your mom said that getting people to like you was "your plot." That makes you sound like an anime villain.
I'm all for It. Heroes are… a thing. But missundertood villains are the best!

Ah yes, a Mother that just likes to see her boy happy. Like.
I showed my own mom the “non-white name” video once, and she actually couldn't even tell what your name was until you broke it down at the end. Speaking it frankly without a visual for the word appeared to make it hard for her to grasp it at first.
I'll admit, I would probably get Sungwon and Seungwon mixed up the first few times I tried to distinguish the two if I didn't already know you from this channel.
This was a fun video though, it's the first one I've watched with your mom in it.
The skit "having a non-white name" is my #1 because it's extremely relatable for me because my last name is German and almost no one pronounces it right.
Try me
Sorry i meant that as in my last name Quijano i just realized it does not show up just my first name
(To clarify, Osprey is not my actual last name)
@@kaylinosprey3306 I was confused about that but I get it now
My last name is French and no one says it right. It’s Hogue (rhymes with rogue). But plot twist! I actually met a French speaking man that says I don’t actually pronounce my own name the French way. 😂😂😂 go figure.
When I watch your anime skits, I never get the jokes and references and yet I still laugh because somehow your skits always feel relatable. It's pretty cool that your mom mentioned that as well.
If anyone ever wondered how SungWon turned out to be such a lovable person, you need to look no further than his mother. What a treasure

MamaZD is clearly very proud of her baby boy. Great video, thanks for sharing the ZD family with all of us! She provided great commentary too.
