@@katherinejackson7292 I tried as described in the video doing the export by creating the new watermark etc. The video says export without a watermark. That didn’t work for me….what did work was doing the export with the watermark created as part of the instructions. Hope this helps.
DIDN'T WORK? Below are 2 additional methods: TRY: 1) After creating the "Test1" watermark, select it and use in export. This has done it for many people 2) Try deleting all current watermarks. If you can't, restart LR and then try. Sometimes the delete option reappears. Once all of them are deleted, restart LR and try exporting. If still nothing, check the comments below to see work arounds. Also, Please share this video because a lot of people seem to be having this issue! If still not working, get in touch with Adobe: helpx.adobe.com/support.html Click the Chat Icon in bottom right, say "Lightroom Bug" until you see "Chat with Customer Service" or something similar. They should be able to walk you through a handling.
I've been struggling with this same issue but found a solution that fixed it for me (can't promise that it will work for others). Adobe support took control of my computer and after moving my watermark files into an alternate folder from the Lightroom Classic watermarks folder, it was working. So he said that my watermark files were corrupted and that I needed to create each one from scratch (I have my logo in black and also in white, with 7 different photo locations for each so it's not just one file). So I'm using a transparent .png file for my logo and not text and I discovered that during the last update that the watermark settings had lost the path to my source file for each of my watermark files (the black and the white logos). Under Edit Watermarks I would select each watermark setting in the dropdown above the preview image, click on Choose next to Choose a PNG or JPG image, select the appropriate logo from my hard drive, and since the Size, Anchor, and Inset settings were all intact I would just have to go back to the dropdown box above the preview image and go to the bottom of the list and select Update Preset "Your preset name" (whatever you have named this preset that was originally selected), hit Done and no more error and that preset would work for me once again. The lack of a source file in the settings seemed to be what was causing that error to come up and keep the export from happening.
Thanks for that. As a 'workaround', I assume this needs to be done with each Catalogue? On Mac, I have found that removal of the Lightroom .plist file does the trick permanently.
I was still getting the error and unable to export..... I had to do an extra step. I had made a test, did the steps and it failed. Then tried, a test 1 and followed your instructions & restarted my computer and tried & failed. Then test 2- all the things before and before exporting again I went to watermarks and changed it again to test 2 with no watermark and then tried to export & still the warning came up. I am a wedding photographer and my freakout level was beyond high. Then I realized... I needed to use the test watermark at export. So when I was exporting I had to check the watermark box and add the "test" watermark and then it exported correctly. Adding this comment incase anyone else struggled with that lol.👍
Nice! Glad you figured it out! That’s been one of the additional steps some people have had to do. The other was to delete all watermarks. Glad you figured it out!
