This is a nice refresh and in depth review of what i learned in the army. Was an 11c infantry mortarman. Being in a light unit rucking 60mm mortars we did land nav all the time. Its been years since ive been out. Its nice to get a refresh and some new insight to things i didnt even know.

Can you explain how you converted the numbers on your phone, to your map. Because there were other numbers you ignored. Why? What are the other numbers?

onX is about the best for this, have you used it? Can show sat image, topo, 3d topo and sat, etc.
So does Gaia give you the the actual grid coordinates or a magnetic coordinate and then you have to do the conversion ??
Grid coordinates are just that the azimuth you use is Mag or Grid the coordinate is static
