- C’mon, look at this place! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out these structures are crazy old and will most likely have some incredibly old coins, relics, and other period pieces scattered around the grounds. The property owner was gracious enough to let us metal detect in search of whatever is there and we pulled out some amazing museum caliber pieces, a few that I’ve never even seen before! Let’s fire up the machines and roll up our sleeves because this place is gonna be magical!

Doug's broken buckle is actually a revolutionary war era sling buckle! Awesome find
@@dogtagdoug6751 definitely worth some research. It could also be from a cartridge box
I believe that it's half of a Revolutionary war cartridge box sling buckle
@@dogtagdoug6751 hahaha, he owes you an apology next episode! Awesome find Doug, good luck and happy hunting!
Lol amateur hour
D-Buckle conversation turned into a de-bacle. lol!
The VFW still operates the National Home. All of our posts contribute to it.
Some stellar finds! Both the tombac and "Reale" buttons were amazing. Congrats to Matt on his two coppers as well. Love seeing the history come out of the ground.
I agree with you!!! Everyone did a Great job!!! You guy's dug up GREAT FINDS TODAY!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!! I for sure really appreciate you sharing with us!!! I can't do it so I live through you!!! Thank you All!!! God Bless All of You!!!
Thanks for the lesson on tombac buttons. I like learning the history behind the relics. Great hunt everyone!
VFW National Home is still active to this day. Located in Michigan and houses active military families in need.
Rich's buckle (not buckle) with the skeleton key hole shape could really be a buckle! It's possible that it had the larger area to slide a horse harness fitting in to, then it was meant to be slid back to the narrow slot part to keep it from pulling through? Wow everybody found fantastic things, I hope you're going back? Don't forget to keep up with the sunscreen guys! Hi Doug 🥰
modified Conway, with adjustable or interchangeble pin?
Doug's buckle is a great find, dating to the house behind him! It's British issue cartridge box sling buckle, called an elongated Double D. Originally it would have had an iron tongue coming off the center bar. Too bad we can't post pictures. I have dug specimens and also use them on my reproduction equipment.
The tombac button at the start is a great find. 🙂. Over here in England we find lots of them but they are hugely unimportant to 90% of the people who detect here. 😕. I absolutely love finding buttons only last weekend I found a complete full tombac button with a pattern on the front. 🙂. HH from across the pond. 😀.
I’m going to England in September… I hope to find buttons… I love em’
@@heritagerelichunters9922 Most Sundays out with my club lots of buttons do get found. 🙂. My favourite buttons are military ones. Numbered ones especially. I recently found a Northumberland V regiment of foot officers button with a fancy V for 5th on it and dates to the mid 19th century. 😀. Hope you find some buttons when you visit in September and also something much older fingers crossed. HH from across the pond. 🙂.
I’ll be in Suffolk area of England
@@heritagerelichunters9922 Great area to detect without a doubt. 🙂. I am in the north of England we still find things up here but nothing like what is found down south. 😀.
“Look, I found a manhole cover”…. That cracked me up. Tell Dog-tag Doug, I loved his shirt!
Great video as always.
I got my first permission the other day, an 1826 house and one of the first things I pulled out was a Jersey Copper!
I felt like yelling out COPPER! But there was no one there to film it😂
@@dogtagdoug6751 North Jersey Passaic County
I have found a similar button to the one Ritch found. Mine was a bit smaller, but had the spanish globe and pillars with a date
GMMD was commenting on how he finds so many buttons.
People forget that zippers were not a thing in those days, but
clothes had a lot of buttons, which accounts for them.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
@@dogtagdoug6751 Right you are Doug👍
Rich, "its made out of something" pure genius!
Another awesome video guys. Doug's barrel tap and that relic with a crest and Jason's three buttons and token, Matt's medallion, Charley's 1936 copper, Rich's small knee buckle, the IHP and that cool looking 1744 button ( congrats).
I love when you get new permissions. I’m curious… do you always turn over the finds to the landowners? If not, how do you work out what you get to keep and what to give the owner? Love your channel and your humor. Thanks for taking us on these historical digs with y’all😊
Did you ever get an answer to your question? I am also interested in the answer if you could share.
I've not been doing this hobby really very long but let's be honest, who doesn't want to keep a valuable find ? I definitely let the landowner know my expectations and requirements after I have his/her initial permission. If they don't like the stipulations I have put down, I let them know I can be flexible. But how flexible I will be depends on the potential I see in the search site in general. I want coins... every one that I find. If a landowner demands that I turn over whatever I find, it's adios. Why should I spend precious time looking for treasures I cannot keep ? But if the landowner would say, for example, that he wants one-third, or perhaps one half of the value of a monetary find if its worth $5000 or more, I can work with that. Discoveries of ancient artifacts other than precious metals, jewelry and coins I don't care so much about... the property owner can have them. Some might say my approach towards the landowner isn't very respectful towards him/her. But I absolutely do respect landowners. But if they think something could be found on their property of high value that they wouldn't let me keep anyway, then they can buy their own detector and look for it themselves. My approach in general, is to get the property owner to agree to let me keep any and all coins that I may find.
What a cool site to hunt in. Doug love the Barrel Tap Big Time. Congrats on the Badge and the Brass letter D. Jason Cool 1934 Good Luck Token. Matt Congrats on the Necklace Piece and 1936 Copper. Rich you find some crazy stuff. Love the Buckle with the key hole in it and the 1744 Copper Reale Button Wow. Take Care all of you

Good job guys really enjoyed the video, catch you on the next one
That George coin is Queen Elizabeth’s father. So the 5th I believe. The guy in Scotland finds him a lot.
The Scottish Detectorist. A fun channel.

Bumpy Lumpy & Grumpy it must've been King George
You do a great job narrating. You keep my attention and keep me laughing. Good job to all you guys on the great finds. You set the bar for us.
I've really been enjoying catching up on your videos, Quarter Hoarder. What incredible finds. The buildings remind me of the area in the Catskill Mountains where my husband grew up in Upstate NY. It also dates back to the 16th and 17th Centuries. And that D-Buckle...what a D-Bacle! Thanks for this fun and interesting content!
Thank you for the description of the tombac button, that was very helpful to a novice like me.
The shield plate might be a Milita box plate! Wow
Congratulations guys on some awesome finds!
George V reigned from 1910 to 1936..yup its George the fifth! Great finds guys!
I've been watching your guys's channel for a while now and it's awesome I metal detect myself. I have Paramount and I watch the Beavis and Butthead episode with you guys in it & I was rolling on the floor laughing!!!! Beavis is like Doug look another turd..😂😂 Butthead is like yeah those people have mental issues..😂😂💯💯 so awesome!!!

Such a cool old place. Great digs. Thanks for the laughs and adventure. Half real button was cool. 👍😘
Agreed the relics were sweet! Til next time take care and we'll see you on the next...
That shield Doug found looks like the shield on the Indian penny! :D Love that farm and the land. Amazing place!
If ya dont mind me askin, hows the Nickle nibbler doin? Was there some sort of falling out or somethin?
LOL....knee chastity belt buckle? Only you would come up with that.
Just found you guys, how cool! Thanks for sharing
Those are really awesome finds thank you guys for sharing this six stars
I'm getting my coins down real well.. but I watch you guys to learn buttons.. cuz Ya'll are Pros!! Thanks a always.. for the lesson 😅
It’s finds like this that keep me interested and continue watching. Only if Wisconsin had items like this.
That 1744 button was killer! Maybe it's a Spanish coat cutton.....or cuff button? Very very interesting
It's nice to see a Tom back with shank still on it..nice digs
BTW, guys, i found a new way to quickly and clean old coppers and buttons without damaging them, i started to use a thing called a scratch pen, sometimes called a scratch brush, they usually come in sets of three, One is steel, one is fiberglass and the other which is the one i use is made with of brass i just let it air dry a few mins, then i use the brass pen and lightly pass it on the coin, it gets rid of the sand, and also the green stains, and leave the copper all nice.
@@dogtagdoug6751 Speaking of online, Did you guys ever get the package I sent you boys, with the loupes?
Awesome finds that everyone had...Sweet buttons Rich and Jason...Congrats to all you diggers...Great finds....
Super cool button, and nothing leaves you speechless Jason!
Your just explaining for everyone ....Love the Tap
@3:33 💥💥💥💥That’s a 1932 Canadian cent!!! A beautiful Canadian 1 cent!!! I sent you an email about it.
Davern and Dirley, just absolute classic old dude humor. I love you guys!!
Beautiful button Rich. Nice copper Matt. Great Indiana head cent Rich. Love the VFW token Jason.
Hello Quarter Hoarder,Dog Tag Doug,Rich and Matt
Your videos always give me the Inspiration to get out and detect ,
Love this channel.
Amazing finds fellas, congratulations!!!!
Couple of really nice unique buckles and one of the coolest buttons ever!!! As always great finds. Thanks for sharing!
One more question? I have a legend and love mine!!! Would be fun to hear what the hour meters read on your Legends???
I didn't know colonial silver coin buttons were a thing until now. Worth a Google image search
Made it ! I go into work for 3 and thought was gonna miss my QH FIX! 😂😂
Great finds all around. Hopefully Rich finds out more about the button.
The buckle with the key hole... Could that go to an old document/scroll role? It was a case used to carry important documents and maps. Just a thought
Of course... Only after I pushed play from pausing to write this comment, Rich Van Winkle said exactly what I was referencing.
That not-a-D-buckle-drawer-pull might have been a asymmetrically worn harness connector. I would really enjoy showing you my collection!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUG!!!
I don't think that Doug's find is a Badge. I believe it is an early 1800's Scottish Medallion. Some had ribbons attached.
Great finds and great video as always! Plus, I just got a Legend too!
what a great button. I[ll be doing some research and let you know if I find anything.
That place looks like something out of Little House on the Prairie beautiful.
Awesome hunt guys! Every hunt with friends is aewsome!
❤ I enjoy watching your video's this was my second time. Your finds were absolutely amazing.
I look forward to your videos every week!!!!!!
A bunch of fantastic finds 👏 Congrats 😊 HH and take care.
23:42 you caught something on camera coming out of that old structure???? 👻
Good eye, but if you slow it down, you'll see the shadow of most likely a bird pass from the left lower corner to just around that nearest structure. A moment later comes the shadow of the bird taking off almost straight up.
Chastity belt is probably what you found. She couldn't wait to get it off!!
LOVE Doug's swingers shirt. That's hilarious.
That knee buckle thing with the Keyhole. Maybe it was for a stretch clasp? I love dog tags shirt btw
Cool finds !!!!
Anyone else notice the hawk shadow goin up the side of the old stone house @ 23:43. Keep your eye on The house in the background . When Jason start saying “ I can’t date D buckles”.
Like always love to watch your videos with all the guys having lots of fun
AWESOME finds Guys Congrats to ALL
Love the keyhole buckle! Great hunt you all!!
Doug’s “D” buckle looks like a broken 17th century baldric buckle for holding a sword belt.
Andy
Great finds, as always. Thanks for sharing.
Cool finds, here in Tn. Mostly bullets and coins, horse shoes.
Amazing hunt guys Jason I sent you some info on FB concerning the Reale button!
thanks ! always a good hunt!
Good luck guys, happy digging!!!!!!
Oh gosh, I thought you said "Court Order" here! : )
Hello Doug and gang 👋looks like a good day for yall Jason
Great video im sure there is more to come from this place...
You guys are great! Nice finds.
The barrell tap isn't threaded, its ribbed, helps to lock it in place, plus I'm sure it feels better. Lol
Ancient garter clasp? The funny keyhole is for a little knobbed pin to slip into.
A terrific bunch of Finds !
Always legit videos coming from you guys! How about some pointers on getting permissions
Derrick, marrying a farmer’s daughter really helps. All the neighbors are willing to allow detecting.
Wow! Y’all found some great items. Are you going to go back there again? Did you find anything up on that hill?
Supper nice finds gentleman. Carl
I found a VFW charity token exactly like that years ago. I forgot all about it until now.
My friend and I each dug a Reale button this year at a cellar. 1770s dates. Through my research it was an homage to the currency and strength of Spain. Same reason they soldered silver reales into buttons.
