Got this course. Totally recommended. I agreed to other comments below that having the midi drums or all the isolated/independent drum tracks in the session have been very welcome. I love the tone of the snare that Kristian puts in his last productions... wondering how he gets that sound...

@@KohleAudioKult After I watched some episodes several times and took some time to directly test stuff and try things I'm really impressed. Although I don't have so much gear I could dail in a way better tone! Again: Thank your very much for this course!
What I would really like to see is an explanation of rhythm guitar vs lead guitar tones, from the entire chain - guitar / pickup selection, amp selection, cabinet selection, mic placement, and post processing / mixing - and the differences between each one of these parts of the whole, when it comes to putting down a lead part vs a rhythm part in a track, and making sure that in a track with both rhythms and leads, that they compliment each other and work *with* each other and not against.
I'm usually very stubborn and picky when it comes to guitar tones and courses but you're the only producer in addition to Mendel whom I have no quarrels with any of your topics. /kissass
@@KohleAudioKult yeah but the kohle proud face when your digging into a riff you enjoy playing with a tone you think rocks is awesome. Makes me feel it with ya!
I got your course... Love it. I can now say I am confident I can mic a cab or blend IRs with confidence. I hust wish you gave a little in depth on how you are dialing in those amp heads... Do you start with everything at noon.. To you start at the gain and work your way to presence and resonance? Do you always boost first or boost after? How do you dial in your boost? Gain or no gain on the boost? This i feel is also important to our tone matrix or did I miss it in the course videos?
@@andyje I figured that’s what you meant lol but when you said “not learning stuff is great” I was just sitting thinking so hard about that lmao I gotcha. But yeah Kohle is seriously the coolest producer out there
Does this include working with Amp Sims and virtual IR's or just exclusive to real guitar gear? This is important because both can sound different. Please respond.
Hi Kristian. Thank you for that. I directly purchased your course. Is it also possible to see your signal chain in therms of: used cables, cable lenght di and reamping box. I ask for that because your setup sounds perfectly clean. I always have noise issues in my setup ( scarlett 18i20, Lehle split, mesa amp and cab ). Ground lift. Different cables. Different (steckdosen). Different Guitars did not solve the problem. How do i get the right levels out of the interface? I would be great if you could do a video with such basics. I recognize it by myself. I am often 2 steps ahead, but the basic setup then is not noise free and i waste time to search for the issue. That is counterproductive. I rather like to create sound in stead of crackle noize. Thanks in advance. See you in Hell. Holger
Great course! informative and entertaining! Would you consider a course and/or video on recording Di's, reamping Di's and using Di's with amp sims? I don't have the luxury of a live room to crank up a real amp so I'm at the mercy of amp sims. However, my attempts suck and I believe it has a lot to do with the quality of the Di track. Di's are fairly new to me and I've had to endure a lot of frustration. However, after loading one of your Di tracks into a test session, after about 5 mins I had a sound that I really liked using the same chain. Not quite what I was hearing i my head but very close and a hell of a lot better than anything else I was getting. The quality of your Di's are far beyond anything I can get. Just a thought. Thanx
Not sure this is the right place, but I left some comments on the course website too: The ZIP file of part 5 is corrupt and cannot be extracted. (Link Sendowl) The course website is missing the 03.1 Tone Matrix Example 1 Amps.
I used 7zip to watch it without extracting the file as winrar wouldn't do it. 7zip also wouldn't extract the file. So Open the archive and and click on the m4v file but don't extract. 7zip worked for me this way. That is if you haven't got working yet.
@@KohleAudioKult thanks brother. I watched and liked that video from before 😅. Its just with the way a mic works and clocks, it didn't make much sense that cabs would make a difference But I could hear it there. Thanks again for responding brother. Keep it heavy

And yeah, a tracking course is on the way.
What are those sliders you are using for mic placement?
Kohle when you’re reamping do you use a noise gate at all? Or is this bad for the signal?
I don't use noise gates.
Usually I don't need noise reduction. If I need it, it's better to fix things in the DAW later.

If the oversized cabs are industry standard, I think we should start referring to the standard cabs as undersized.
Haha! Good one 🍺🤪

Hey bro a question. Does the Cab make any significant difference in sound with close up micing or is it mostly speaker dominant and minimal cab build?
