I watched this movie first and the anime OVA... compared em and my opinion is that this movie adaptation is better than the OVA... d adaptation flushes things out quite a bit more and better than d OVA... things progress naturally

Short answer: Rosa Salazar. Long answer: Rosa Salazar did not try to comply to the stereotypical anime girl portrayal: she did not try to be cute, which can be off-putting. She kept her real, and brought Alita from a timid little girl to a self-actualized woman. Notice how the way she walked and moved changed along the way, and you'll see she put on a masterly performance.
My dad HATES manga/anime films he has never liked them doesn’t even like graphic novel films like Sin city BUT He thought this film was one of the best Cyberpunk sci-fi age films he has ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I agree

Some of the tweaks I’ve seen used: • stretch the image either vertically or horizontally • flip the image horizontally • shrink the image and add a border around it • put the audio through a filter that changes the voices There may be others. The weirdest one I’ve seen was shrunken with an added border, flipped, and audio tweaked so Superman sounded like a chipmunk. But even those will eventually be taken down once the copyright owners find them. It just takes longer for humans to find the ones the bots can’t.
