Cool! I did cringe a bit at the PCB bug still being in the reproduction, but I guess that's part of what makes it an authentic reproduction board. 🙂 I like how the Molex connectors can be lined up to make the 41 pins without actually modifying the connector.
Exactly! I wanted the reproduction to be exactly like the original, including the bugs. Yeah, the connectors are nicer than the clone Mark-8 from previous videos.
@@artemkalinchukI was given one that was partially assembled. It took me about a year to purchase and assemble the remaining parts and to get everything working. It helped that the guy that started assembling it had all the mailings from the user group that formed to assist each other. What didn't help was that all the board interconnections were point to point wired and the guy that started it messed up the wiring. A slight problem was that the original boards didn't have plated through holes and it was necessary to solder everything on both sides and put short wires in the vias.
This is a Sweet Project, I would be Torn though: Make it LOOK Original, or Prink the PCBs in Newer Funky Looking Sets.. Maybe its been so Long I forget. Ultimately is there a Particular Program or Game you are Excited to Test when this Project reaches its Final Form
In this video, I want to make it look like the original. I don't have any specific program that I want to try but I did want to run some of the programs that were available for the Intel 8008 CPU. It would be nice to connect a tape reader to it.
@@artemkalinchukI swore a few months back when you started with this, I had bugged ya about a text display, which you said was comming eventually. Possibly another similar computer. Eith way, this is swet, just making comments lol

I remember that bug in the original Mark 8. If I remember prices correctly the 32 1102 sRAM chips cost almost as much as the cpu at the time.
That’s awesome! Did you build one? The 1101 chips are still expensive - maybe $5-10 each.
