  • Another lovable silent uploaded to UA-cam with a great catalogue of amazing jazz tunes prior 1929, carefully selected by me with a great result. Now, this classic has the music it deserves.

Marion's satirical impressions of famous actresses of the time are priceless, especially Mae Murray of the bee-stung lips.

I didn't know the great Marie Dressler appeared in silents. She's even more entertaining to watch in silent films.

Oh yes. Her first starring film, in 1914, Tillie's Punctured Romance, was an early film of Charlie Chaplin's!

Just watched it for the first time!!! great Movie!! Hilarious and Heartfelt, worthy of a nomination for best lead, though I don’t know anything about the star I see it’s her picture as well…

Great cast, start to finish. Davies was well-known in Hollywood as one of the best mimics and often entertained guests with her impressions of other actresses of the period. Dressler as always fills the screen, whether in drama or comedy. The script and direction (by the great King Vidor) are excellent, and even the inter-titles are funnier than usual! Thanks for the upload of this classic gem.

The playing speed is way too fast. When playing it with 0,75% of the uploaded speed, it is much more natural. I reduced it testwise to 0,75% and then it´s o.k. I´m a fan of silent movies.
