Featured AAFC Consignment Artist Jacqueline Pearson

Academy Art & Frame Company (AAFC) is a custom conservation art framing shop and art gallery. We carry the largest selection of frame moulding samples in southern Colorado and we showcase the work of approximately 200 local and regional artists.
Our Featured Consignment Artist videos are an opportunity for us to promote the works of these artists in a new and unique way. Our goal for the gallery is to promote local artists and give all skill level artists from emerging, to student, to professionals a local space to show their work. We encourage artists of any age and skill level.
Featured here is the work of Jacqueline Pearson. "As I begin an abstract painting, I might not have a specific idea of what it will look like at completion but excitement sets in with the application of my first brush stroke. I try to imagine what the world would feel like if every object could be viewed in a way that is less than literal. My aim is to challenge the perception of a reality that might be unseen in the eyes of the world.
By applying paint in layers, it not only adds depth to the painting, it adds exciting texture which makes it more interesting and lively. If calligraphy is the element that brings the painting together, then that is the next step. When I feel the painting is telling me “that’s enough”, I try to listen to that still small voice and call it finished."
