What if McGonagall raised Harry? Pretty easy jumping off point. McGonagall:"No, you Barmy old Codger you're not leaving this boy here. I'll raise him before I allow you to do that." Dumbledore: "Deal" McGonagall: "I feel like you planned this and while I don't approve of that I'm a woman of my word."
If he wasn't killed living at the Weasley's in this scenario, I don't see why he would at McGonagall's? Also, she's one of the most powerful witches we know of.
@@jp_ravenfireThe protection comes from Lily, though, not James, and the Evanses(Petunia Dursley being a former Evans) aren't related to wizarding families as far as we know, which is why Harry had to be taken by the Dursleys. I can’t believe you didn’t mention how Harry’s vast riches would affect the story. I’m sure the Weasleys wouldn’t want to take any money and may even refuse at first but eventually Harry would make them take some of his money. It doesn’t change a lot but Ron wouldn’t be jealous of Harry’s nimbus if they could all buy one.
Or if absolutely nothing else we know Dumbledore is ludicrously rich and could absolutely pay them to take in Harry (not that I approved of that plot point but again just if they did)
An excuse could be that the money maybe is in a trust and he can only take money for school stuff until he's of age, but it would be super funny that as soon as he's of age Harry just starts hoisting money on everyone and improving the house without being asked.
I don't by that any version of Ron will rat them out "for breaking a rule". He'd ask to join them and Harry in this version would have no reason to say no to his brother, so Ron joins them. They of course all get caught just like they do in the book.
exactly, like this move activly tried to get harry expelled and tossed out of the wizarding world... theres no universe where any hufflepuff does this ESPECIALY ron. like imagine if ron went around actively trying to get the twins introuble. never going to happen
@@reinkdesigns Exactly. He couldn't even give the twins detention. Even when they so clearly deserved it. And if Ron grew up with Harry as his brother, he'd already know that Harry and Charlie are close, so he wouldn’t feel bad that they were writing to each other. It's like feeling bad that Fred writes to Charlie. That doesn't sound like Ron one bit.
this whole video has me thinking. What if Ron was in Slytherin. He would have the same back story, as you guys have stated but because of Ron's jealousy of his adoptive brothers fame, Ron would have strong AMBITION to become better than Harry at school, Quidditch and magic in general. Maybe even ron tries to become the chosen one at some point.
I feel like some of the proposed behaviours & incidents in the video did actually fit Slytherin better than Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is meant to be about loyalty & hard work etc & that doesn't really fit with things like the dragon betrayal IMO.
Then we would get a slytherin who isn't an obsessive stalker and a children abuser or a blonde gelled hair bare minimum king... We would get a REAL heroic slytherin.
I really think Ron fits with Slytherin much better than Hufflepuff. He wasn't exactly always the super LOYAL friend for Harry, was he? He sees himself as Head Boy and Captain of the Quidditch team in the mirror of Erised - talk about ambition! And he kind of abandoned Harry in pretty tough times at least twice - once in the Goblet of Fire and another time in the Deathly Hallows - and both times the fights originated from envy and jealousy. Ron is the least hardworking of the trio, and the least loyal as a friend. He was also not particularly kind, although admittedly he was very funny. No I think Ron actually fitted Slytherin much better and Harry and Harry fitted Hufflepuff better
I would like to suggest a new "What if"-scenario: What if Lily's parents were still alive when James and Lily died? Surely Harry would be raised by his grandparents who loved Lily and would also love Harry and not by Petunia. How would this affect Harrys relation to the magical world?
I second that.. bc going by actual muggel-world-standards of that time, they would be in their late 40s to mid 50s when Lilly died... so not too old...
This would make much sense. Also, we do know that older Potters were alive when Sirius moved there when he was 16. And James and Lily died when they were 21. So in 5 year span Potters died and Lilys parents died or had died previously. That is actually rather bad plothole.
I bet that in this case Harry probably would grow up being spoiled as James was, considering that he was raised like this by his parents, you can imagine how these same people would raise their grandson. Great chance that in this scenario Snape would be right and he would be as arrogant as his father was. I suspect that Dumbledore would want to avoid that, considering that he wanted Harry to be as humble as possible.
@@xAninha-Monteiro Yeah Mr and Mrs Potter extremly spoiled their son (probably bc they were rather old when having their first kid - even for wizard kind) But we want to see Mr and Mrs Evans raising Harry - and they at least didn't spoil Lilly to a extrem point....
@@AH-xf3by Oh, yeah. I just did not paid attention and thought they are talking about James parents. Of couse anything is better than the Dursleys, but being raised by Lily's parents probably would be better than James parents.
The three act like the other houses but that shows that what truly matters is how you feel about yourself. Ron values bravery, his own, Harry’s and Hermiones
Exactly. Your Hogwarts house isn’t just your qualities but what you VALUE the most. That’s why Harry can’t be a Slytherin since it’s antithetical for his character.
...just of note, remember that when writing it, Gryffindor didn't initially exist, the three characters WERE in the three other houses... Gryffindor was created because she wanted the characters to be able to spend more time together.
@@Enverz001 I'd love to give you a direct reference, but I've watched and read just so much about this over the years... It was something about the writing process, and I saw it in the last year or two that involved early notes. I think it was also in the book where the character names had been changing around, as the first 40 characters or something.
I wouldn't necessarily say how you feel about yourself as not everyone has an active choice about the house. Rather than an active choice the hat knows you better than yourself. For example if you want to go to Ravenclaw but the hat has no indication that your innerself is matching it won't put you there despite your wish. At least I think so
I'm sorry, I refuse to believe any Hufflepuff would be lonely for Christmas. Even those who don't have families to go back to will have each other. And any Hufflepuff student worthy of the Badger isn't going to leave anyone behind.
Exactly. Ron is someone who doesn't ever struggle socially. He's pretty easygoing and bold. He's good at making friends. Even when he fights with Harry or Hermione, they seem to be the ones who feel his absence more. Ron just hangs out with Dean, Seamus, or his older brothers and their friends. I REFUSE to believe that he'd be lonely and feel left out of the group. That's so unlike Ron, and Hufflepuffs are too nice and loyal to let that happen.
A part of me wonders what would've happened had Dudley been born a wizard... would he be mistreated as well by his parents, for their dislike of everything abnormal and weird. Would Petunia have a change of heart and try to live vicariously through her son, Dudley. Because Petunia is really just jealous that Lily was born special while she was not. What if the Dudley was born a wizard? Heck, another odd idea, what if the Dursley's were nice? Maybe McGonagall watched the Dursley's on a bad day and just got the wrong impression of the family? Maybe I'm just the odd man out with these ideas. lol
I'd like to imagine that it leads to Dudley hiding his powers and actually becoming close to Harry but having to hide their not bad relationship it in front of his parents and pretend to hate him because well, his parents are bad people and I actually think that Petunia may straight up get jealous of her own son and possibly reject him too because he had what she wanted and now nearly everyone around her seemed to be magical, her sister, her nephew and now even her own own son, everyone except her got to be special.
@@brickbot2.038 I think the story could go a few different ways, some dark, some not so dark. There's gonna be some out of character moments for the entire family.
@@camhirst7089 This is a possibility, definitely one of the darker routes, but it could also just lead to Harry getting blamed for it all. Not Dudley, which would make things more grim for Harry. I just think it's an interesting topic.
Ooooooooh what a great reveal! Okay maybe not that he's adopted (that would seem pretty obvious) but that he's the Boy Who Lived. Molly and Arthur somehow managed to keep it a secret until he's ready for Hogwarts or something and Hagrid, the H-man himself, the one who saved him from that ruined house, gets to tell him that You-know-who caused his own downfall when attacking wee baby Harry. That sounds amazing!
I think a much more explainable way of Ron going into Hufflepuff, without messing up Harrys timeline, is Ron getting all the hand me downs, 2nd hand wand, 2nd hand first year books, 2nd hand Gryffindor chest, getting George and Freds old Gryffindor robes, might have been enough for Ron to ask to go into another house just so he gets new things and can stand out from his siblings.
I often think the story would have been better if Ron was in Hufflepuff and Hermione in Ravenclaw... Then they'd have to sneak out and their friendship would be more important than a hat saying they need to spend time together.
Being in the same class doesn't mean they're going to guaranteed to be friends But I didn't dictate the golden trio being friends anyway Hermione could have easily been friends with lavender and the other girls and Harry could have easily become best friends with Dean and Sheamus instead of Ron But Rhonda leaves he became friends with before the school year even started so they probably still be friends no matter where he went Well Hermione is only their friend because she's had some exposure to them and if she was in a different class they might not have ever learn to get along with her
I thought they're doing as much as they can for things to still go somewhat the same, like they have to get ratted out, and making it Ron was the only way for it to still happen?
Oooo. Goblet of Fire is going to be an interesting one. Cedric’s name comes out of the Goblet and Ron is thrilled because he finally has something Harry doesn’t…and then Harry’s name comes out of the Goblet too.
I suppose the next scenarios could be "What if Hermione was in Ravenclaw" and "What if all the Golden Trio were not in Gryffindor". That last one would be weirdly chaotic given the alternate chosen one would still be in Gryffindor, trying to figure out why, might be a good scenario to get Neville involved more and have a story with the houses actually unifying.
I don’t think Harry gets the Nimbus 2000 in this theory. He got it because he had no family to get him one. I bet he’d simply get Charlie’s hand-me-down broom. I do wonder what difference it will make when Cormac is the keeper in year five rather than Ron.
@@reinkdesigns that doesn’t make any sense. Whether he gets the Nimbus from the teachers or a Cleansweep from the Weasleys, he still has a broom as a first year.
@@jamesdrylie5584 McGonagall has to get Dumbledore to bend the rules to get Harry a broom, then as she does that she buys him that broom. Harry would never get the opportunity or even think to ask Molly to get him a broom even with his own money.
@@reinkdesigns exactly and minerva would get him the best because she is trying to stack the field in her team's favour. At worst Harry still wouldn't have a comet as he has a vault of money and it would have a much better broom. Even if McGonagall had not gotten him a broom in year 1 I fully believe that in year 2 Harry would have just bought himself a Nimbus himself and tried out for the team once he was allowed to.
Great story! There are two things that might be different and both have to do wit Malfoy. The first is the rememberall scene: Draco challenged Harry to a flying match knowing Harry had never flown before. Would he be brave enough to do so if he knew Harry grew up with a family of talented Quidditch players? I doubt it. Also the reason Hagrid was not with Harry during the detention in the forrest was how Draco treated Neville. Since Draco is not there in this scenario, would Hagrid and Harry be in one group and how would it affect the outcome.
I've never thought of Ron as anything *but* a Gryffindor. If you're looking for Hufflepuff avatar, it would more likely be Neville than Ron. Like Hermione and Harry, there was a hat discussion about Neville being in Hufflepuff, prompted by Neville himself.
Exactly, he'd even get brand new robes. He wouldn't be jealous of Harry's success or feel left out. Ron's deepest desire is to stand out, not be better than everyone.
Just started this series (pretty late this time) and have a question: What about Harry being a Horcrux and his mother's love protection? He stays with the Dursleys not only because he has no other living family, but it keeps Lily's sacrificial love protection alive with Petunia, keeping Voldy away and Harry alive. It's also why Dumbledore sends him to be with the Dursleys even though they're the "worst sort of muggles imaginable". It's all part of his BIG plan to defeat Voldemort. With him living with the Weasleys now, does the protection just die? 🤔
As much as I was waiting for this... Can't help but be disappointed... This isn't a What If Ron was in Hufflepuff... It's a What If Harry was adopted by the Weasley Family! Like I get you guys were confused but personally I could of just seen it as Draco meeting harry on the train instead of the shop, and making a dig at Ron saying he will never be a great Wizard, just another Weasley from gryffindor just like his brother's. Ron is so anxious to be something it would easily make sense that Draco's words would be in the back of his mind and ask the hat not Gryffindor. I do like the family ties bringing Ron back into the trio all the time though.
Ayo remember who pulled Gryffindor's sword out of the Sorting hat and killed Nagini? You can't say Neville isn't a Gryffindoor through and through. Also he's not really part of the Golden Trio.
This is cool. Also, if Neville took Ron's place when they go to confront Snape at the end (who they assume is Snape), Neville wouldn't have confronted the Golden Trio and would not have been "frozen" by Hermione. Thus, he would not have gotten the 10 points for Gryffindor to help them win the House Cup. Yes, he may have gotten points for knowing how to escape the Devil's Snare, but the total would still be off (unless Dumbledore just granted the needed number of points anyway). Also, also, it may be a bit early, but if Ron was in Hufflepuff, he may have met Cedric earlier. Maybe he would have looked up to Cedric as a stand-in older brother and even talked about growing up with Harry. This stuff could have an effect later, especially during Goblet of Fire.
Oh man you have no idea how excited I am for this series! Been craving another longer what-if series since your masterpiece that is "What if Harry was in Slytherin"
"Harry finds the mirror, defeats Quirrell, saves the day…", But how though? In the original story Lily's protection was pretty important here. There's a problem here and it actually came up in the thread about McGonigal adopting Harry. To maintain his mother's protection all those years he needs to "call home where his mother's blood lives". His mother being Muggle born doesn't seem all that closely related to the pureblood Weasley's. Why hasn't that protection faded away without the magic of home and blood? If it has then how did he defeat Quirrell?
Here's a question: How does the Bond of Blood affect this? Harry would still need to return to the Dursleys for that, so is it just like "We're visiting your Muggle family for your birthday" or something? And how does that play out, given that it's _the Dursleys_ that he, adopted by wizards, is visiting?
Another thing is that Harry has to be able to call the Dursley's house home which he probably wouldn't. Harry would not be protected by the Bond of Blood charm.
It's kinda weird for Ron to break away from his family in his sorting, being, to a degree unloyal and ambitious, which he later justifies by snitching on his brother to Mcgonagall, and being sorted into Hufflepuff. And Ron's importance to Harry is... chess practice?
He wouldn't. That made no sense. Letters were always sent in the recipient's name. Even when Harry addressed his letters to "Snuffles" he let Hedwig know they were for Sirius.
Harry being adopted by the Weasleys have so many more rippling effects then you take into account though, like he might be a complettelly different person not having been mistreated his whole life, he mightve turned out alot more like James honestly and this is much less of a reach then Ronbecoming so petty bcs he has Harry as a brother, also Id argue IF having Harry as an adoptive brother would supercharge his more petty and ambitious feelings throughout the books then the sorting hat would never put him in huffelpuff, sure loyalty and such would still be important to him but in this version ambitioun is his diffining(english is not my first language sorry) feature thus landing him in slytherin. Also even though Ron desperately wants to stand out amongst his family the keyword is AMONGST, Ron cares deeply for his family we can see this in Deathly Hallows bright as day, hes constantly on the radio making sure that no one in his family has been killed, the idea that having Harry as an adoptive brother would make him choose against Gryffindor is like saying he would be a completly different person bcs he has Harry as a brother. Sorry for the long text, usually I subscribe to pretty much all SCB therories and scenarios but this is for me personally to far a stretch
Loving this series and the premise. Other ideas I'd like to see : 1. What if Hermione was in Ravenclaw? 2. What if Lucius Malfoy never gave Ginny the diary? 3. What if Draco died from Harry's Sectumsempra curse? 4. What if Ginny was in Slytherin?
It’s pretty simple. Ron might not want to be sorted into Gryffindor to create his own identity and not be in his siblings’ shadows even without Harry living with them.
Due to his contributions to defeating Voldemort, Ron would stand out, just like his siblings. I think Harry would be more than happy for Ron to take over the spotlight. I wonder whether Ron realized that Harry was famous for tragic reasons. Many families would have been happy to care for Harry. Ron would enjoy fame.

"Harry and Ginny would grow up as siblings, so their future relationship status is pretty modified towards continuing to be siblings." I'm glad to hear the Carlin Brothers aren't as messed up as The CW's writers were on "The Flash".
I haven't finished the video yet, but I swear, if they pull some Harry x Hermione, I will eat my PC. THERE IS NO CHEMISTRY IN THE BOOKS! ITS A MOVIE - ONLY THING! HARRY SEES HER AS A SISTER!
You guys forgot that since harry is now part of the Weasley family, harry wouldn't have gone to Gringotts with Hagrid so he wouldn't see Hagrid grab the philosopher stone for Dumbledore. so later when harry reads in the profit that Gringotts got broken into he wouldn't be actively thinking and connecting the dots so it would be much harder for harry and his new gang. I'm not even sure they would go to the basement and have the face off against Quirrell and Voldemort. not that it would change anything since getting the philosopher stone isn't possible for Quirrell so they would probably just give up and Quirrell might actually be in Harry's second year and that's actually a more interesting possibility.
The flaw in this plan is that the Weasleys couldn't have taken in another child. They were too poor. Even with Harry's inheritance, which they wouldn't use, couldn't help.
I don't think McGonagall was only watching to see how the Dursley's were, she was probably on official Order of the Phoenix business protecting Petunia from possible death eater retribution immediately following the first fall of Voldemort
the two major what ifs i want are: What if Dudley was a Wizard? What if Harry was a girl? With Dudley it would be interesting to see Vern and Petunia being so happy about their son being a Wizard as well. Most would see Dudley in Slytherin or Hufflepuff but I doubt Slytherin (Muggle born) and I feel he would still be Gryffondor material (HE is not smart and not loyal. Leaving one house) Some would claim "He is a coward he is not brave" Sure, but let us look at Wormtail, he was a Gryffindor. As for Harry Being a girl, that would change quite a bit (First off the Prophesy would need a change. (Just change all the male pronouns to gender neutral) But how does being eth opposite gender change the outcome? Who does she end up with, Does Ron still want Hermione or does he fall for Harry, Maybe Malfoy has interests. Chances are he would look like Lily and Snape may treat her differently as well seeing the woman he loved in Harry. I really want those two what ifs explored some day by the Carlin Brothers.
I honestly see their relationship being alot of the same rather than separate. Yes a few events happen in the common room, but could easily have those events on other areas of hogwarts.
Question, why did Ron have Charles' wand in the first place? Even if the idea was to save money, Charles would have to buy a new one to himself, so it would make much more sense if he just paid a new one to Ron and kept the one that had already chosen him. Wands are not like clothes that you outgrow and pass on. Any theories?
I cannot fathom how anyone thinks Harry would be in Slytherin and Ron would be in Hufflepuff, all you need to look at is what they both see in the mirror of erised. Harry god bless him is not ambitious, he had being an auror dropped in his lap.
Video idea: What if Harry was sorted into Slytherin, Hermione was sorted into Ravenclaw, Ron was sorted into Hufflepuff, and if Draco was sorted into Griffyndor
Could you eventually do "What If Ginny was sorted into Slytherin?" I think I've come up with a way she can get sorted into Slytherin: Charlie catches her sneaking into the quidditch supply which makes him train her and it fuels her ambition to be a professional quidditch player, so she's even more determined and ambitious so she gets sorted into Slytherin.
But would Gryffindor still win in that scenario? If you recall, it’s Ron’s PLUS Harry’s PLUS hermione’s PLUS Neville’s points that win them the cup. Without Ron, that means Neville would probably get the points that Ron normally gets, but that still leaves Gryffindor TIED with Slytherin, and Slytherin would probably win, as they got the points first. Doesn’t change the plot too much, but just something to thing about.
i can not imagine any world where ron or any hufflepuff actively tried to get harry expelled by informing McGonagall that hes going to SNEAK A DRAGON up a tower. sorry but you lost me entirely there. that is just not a thing that would ever happen in any universe
I can't help but think growing up knowing he's the chosen one would have ruined Harry's selflessness. I, honestly, think he'd be much more arrogant like James
My favorite "The Weasleys adopted Harry" moments is his 17th birthday present, Gideon Prewett's watch. By gifting a family heirloom, Harry is officially recognized as family. I suspect this was also an intentional set up for Harry giving Regulus' locket to Kreacher. Harry understands the power of apparently small but personal and appropriate acts. That might be a topic for a "list" type video - apparently little actions that meant much to Harry, and apparently little actions by Harry that in the end made a big difference.
I somehow don't believe Ron would tip off McGonagall or Filch, this would be absolutely out of character for Ron, especially if he was in Hufflepuff, I think his loyalty would still lie with his brothers who are trying to help a friend. I don't believe for a second he would be that petty, regardless of his jealousy. Besides, why doesn't Ron make any other friends in this scenario and is lonely? Hufflepuff is full of people he can befriend and he's great at being a friend. In your theory though it seems to me like Ron is slowly becoming like Malfoy, constantly obsessed with Harry instead of doing his own thing in Hufflepuff.
⚠️Off topic from video, day twenty three of asking for what ifs⚠️ 1: What if Dudley went to Hogwarts? I think he'd be a Hufflepuff and be pretty good at defense against the dark arts and I think it would be fun to have him be good at divination cause none of the golden trio are good at or even seem to respect it. 2: What if Aang died with the other Air nomads and one of the other main characters eventually became the Avatar? I think the most interesting would be Sokka and Zuko. 3: What if Prim became the Mockingjay? The only way I see this happening is if Katniss gets caught hunting and either gets killed or sent to the Capital and becomes an avox, a year or two before Prims game so she gets some survival skills not as good as Katniss but better than nothing. 4: So this one is kinda out there maybe it would be fun to do as a April fools thing or something I don't know but here we go... What if you guys made a Harry Potter crossover? Only crossovers with stuff that could feasibly exist in the Harry Potter world, the first ones that pop into my mind is Percy Jackson, Buffy the vampire slayer, BBC's Merlin maybe Supernatural the last one I'm less sure but you get the point like I said this last suggestion is very out there and I don't expect it to go anywhere. 5: There's a lot of fanfic out there where Harry is raised by someone who are not the Dursley's I definitely think you guys should do a full what if for that concept I find the most interesting being Harry is raised by Snape. 6: Here's a what if that could potentially keep Yue alive but also have her more involved in the story and I think be a pretty interesting story to follow, what before Zuko got banished the fire lord and Yue's father had arranged marriage planned for the two? The water tribe agrees out of a desperation to not get attacked the fire nation is doing it to have control over the water tribe the idea is that the two are essentially already married but haven't had the ceremony yet but this means when Zuko gets banished Yue gets banished with him she can't even go to her tribe cause the fire nation could use it as an excuse to attack.
I don't have a clue on Earth why it is so complicated to give Ron the motivation to join Hufflepuff. Just retcon some MacGuffin into his past, some simple excuse that would give him the motivation to do that and move on. it's completely unnecessary to modify Harry Potter's entire life history just to move Ron into Hufflepuff.
The only thing I don't like about this is Ron tipping off McGonagall on purpose. The Charlie sending letter to "Youngest Brother" is pretty weak as a plot point. I think there are other ways to accomplish this. I don't necessarily see why Harry wouldn't include Ron in the dragon secret in the same way he included him in the secret about the invisibility cloak. That way the events of the original story could happen as is. It's also possible that Draco just finds out what they're doing another way. Neville is quite clumsy so maybe he dropped the letter or got injured like Ron did. There are a lot of ways to do this without Ron being the villain which seems so outside his character. Even in the main timeline he's jealous of his older brothers but he would never snitch on the twins even when he thought they were blackmailing someone in book 4.

Yeah so it's Neville, Ron, Hermione, and harry in detention instead of Neville, Draco, Hermione, and Harry.
eh, i feel like it could work.
I like that better.
this whole video has me thinking.
Percy should have been a Slytherin
I always thought that Ron leaned more towards Slytherin and Harry leaned more towards Hufflepuff
@@zephodb What’s your source for this information? In my years of being HP fan that’s the first time I hear about this.
At least I think so
For a second I thought movie flame did another video, but no. But two Harry Potter videos in the same day, both about Hufflepuffs, weird coincidence
Same
Sadly for Ron this would probably get more views if it was titled "What if Harry Potter was raised by the Weasleys?"
Maybe I'm just the odd man out with these ideas. lol
ooh, Dudley being a muggleborn wizard is such a cool 'what-if' scenario!
I've got a feeling dudley may have become an obscuris due to the Dursleys being unwilling to acknowledge magic
Imagining Hagrid going "You're adopted Harry"
The hardest hit in the entire series: "he's as good as." I tear every time.
I often think the story would have been better if Ron was in Hufflepuff and Hermione in Ravenclaw...
Then they'd have to sneak out and their friendship would be more important than a hat saying they need to spend time together.
Being in the same class doesn't mean they're going to guaranteed to be friends
But I didn't dictate the golden trio being friends anyway Hermione could have easily been friends with lavender and the other girls and Harry could have easily become best friends with Dean and Sheamus instead of Ron
But Rhonda leaves he became friends with before the school year even started so they probably still be friends no matter where he went
Well Hermione is only their friend because she's had some exposure to them and if she was in a different class they might not have ever learn to get along with her
I thought they're doing as much as they can for things to still go somewhat the same, like they have to get ratted out, and making it Ron was the only way for it to still happen?
@asfodelos3225 how
Oooo. Goblet of Fire is going to be an interesting one. Cedric’s name comes out of the Goblet and Ron is thrilled because he finally has something Harry doesn’t…and then Harry’s name comes out of the Goblet too.
cant wait for the What If Hermione Was In Ravenclaw since theres barely any Ravenclaw content 😂
Rest assured if/when we do that... we'll at least get the colors right!
@@SuperCarlinBrothersYay!
I love the running gag of Charlie being Harry’s best friend in this version of events
The Hermione in Ravenclaw is the one where I feel like the story will change the most.
Honestly I dont think ron and harry would be like this if they were brother but I like seeing the different outlook
I know right? I still feel like they would be inseperable, outside of classes and maybe meal times (dumb houses setup).
I love getting more focus on Ron and his character developments over the course of the series! This was so cool!
Loyal to a fault, those Hufflepuffs. You can see it most when they try to get you fired/arrested/ detention because you "made plans with" Charlie.
Yeah that would be a Slytherin thing to do, certainly not Hufflepuff 🙈
I don’t think Harry gets the Nimbus 2000 in this theory. He got it because he had no family to get him one. I bet he’d simply get Charlie’s hand-me-down broom.
I do wonder what difference it will make when Cormac is the keeper in year five rather than Ron.
I think Cormac will be just as insufferable trying to be a one-man Quidditch team.
But I doubt Angelina would stand for that.
1st years arent allowed to have brooms, he still gets the nimbus from McGonagall
Next up, gotta do Hermione in Ravenclaw
And one where they're all three in the alternate houses and Neville is the groups Gryffindor
Ron as a Badger meets this Badger's approval, he's as loyal as they come, it's pretty much his character arc in canon.
I've never thought of Ron as anything *but* a Gryffindor. If you're looking for Hufflepuff avatar, it would more likely be Neville than Ron. Like Hermione and Harry, there was a hat discussion about Neville being in Hufflepuff, prompted by Neville himself.
I want to see a J vs. Ben Harry Potter quiz where all the answers are either "Fred" or "George".
That would be pretty good😂
Harry is the trio's Hufflepuff and Ron is the Slytherin. I will die on this hill.
1:51 That laugh is so meme worthy.😂
Outro: Weasel down the burrow 19:23
This!! (Well done, OP!)
Just by being placed into Hufflepuff house, Ron is able to stand out from the rest of his family.
Sort of like Sirius being a griffindor
THANK GOD THIS IS ANOTHER MULTI PART SERIES THANK YOU
Where's the sequel to the "What if Petunia was a witch" story! It ended at such a good spot!😭😭😭
Even when not directly involved, Ron is still significant. Good on him.
I've always felt Neville was the more Hufflepuffy. Ron is a Gryffindor through and through.
This stuff could have an effect later, especially during Goblet of Fire.
i cant believe yall are still pumping these videos out after all these years
“What if Ron was in Hufflepuff?”
*video proceeds to only discuss Harry for the first half of the video
i wasn't too sure what to expect with this 1, but the introduction really did a great job of laying the groundwork!
I feel like harry’s deepest desire would not be his parents if he had a loving family.
I was also thinking this and that could have a big impact on whether or not he tells Ron about it
yeah but what else could it realistically be
Oh man you have no idea how excited I am for this series!
If it has then how did he defeat Quirrell?
the letter writing 😂😂 "b t dubs, hagrid has a dragon" brilliant
Here's a question: How does the Bond of Blood affect this? Harry would still need to return to the Dursleys for that, so is it just like "We're visiting your Muggle family for your birthday" or something? And how does that play out, given that it's _the Dursleys_ that he, adopted by wizards, is visiting?
Another thing is that Harry has to be able to call the Dursley's house home which he probably wouldn't. Harry would not be protected by the Bond of Blood charm.
Very excited for another big what if, and especially one that spans multiple videos, so far seemingly one per year!
I always thought Neville fit best into Hufflepuff of the four of them to be honest. He's also the most forgotten, just like Hufflepuff.
It's kinda weird for Ron to break away from his family in his sorting, being, to a degree unloyal and ambitious, which he later justifies by snitching on his brother to Mcgonagall, and being sorted into Hufflepuff. And Ron's importance to Harry is... chess practice?
Now you need to do a "What If Hermione Was In Ravenclaw" video. As a Ravenclaw myself, I would love to see that
Copied
@@AirportPlaneSpotting ?
Why would Charlie address the letter to "his youngest brother" and not "Harry"?
Other ideas I'd like to see :
1. What if Hermione was in Ravenclaw?
2. What if Lucius Malfoy never gave Ginny the diary?
3. What if Draco died from Harry's Sectumsempra curse?
4. What if Ginny was in Slytherin?
I like all of them, apart from number three
What if Hagrid was never expelled?
Massive issue.
How does Harry defeat Voldythingy? He doesn’t have the protection spell from being touched…
The "My name's Jeff" clip makes me laugh every single time. Well done.
I just watched the 21 Jump Street movies a few weeks ago. Can't fault good timing.
It’s pretty simple. Ron might not want to be sorted into Gryffindor to create his own identity and not be in his siblings’ shadows even without Harry living with them.
I wonder how Wormtail's role will be affected, having lived in the same house as Harry for thirteen years.
Merlin’s beard, I hadn’t thought of that. 🤯
Honestly wonder if he would have choosen the Weasly's after knowing that Harry is living with them.
The moment Harry arrived at the Weasly's house Wormtail would probably run away and go into hiding elsewhere.
I've always thought Ron would be a Slytherin. He wants to stand apart from his brothers. That's ambition. Harry really feels more like a Hufflepuff.
What if Voldemort realised Harry was a Horcrux during philosophers stone.
I'm excited for the next episode... This was a great deep dive. Love you guys and your content. I've been meaning to see you live I lived in Philly when you came but was in the middle of Moving to Seattle... And I go back and forth right now cuz I had so much in storage.
I haven't even gotten into the Pokemon Card opening cuz as a collector/player/and dealer I have to admit a little jealously.
You bros are awesome. You have a great team behind you. I remember I ordered your first bag of coffee that was supposed to be signed. Never came and your team came through it was a gift for my mom.
Nothing but love and respect for you bros
I don't think Ron would be lonely in Hufflepuff, he's a sociable person and I'm sure he'd have made friends.
"Harry and Ginny would grow up as siblings, so their future relationship status is pretty modified towards continuing to be siblings."
I'm glad to hear the Carlin Brothers aren't as messed up as The CW's writers were on "The Flash".
I haven't finished the video yet, but I swear, if they pull some Harry x Hermione, I will eat my PC. THERE IS NO CHEMISTRY IN THE BOOKS! ITS A MOVIE - ONLY THING! HARRY SEES HER AS A SISTER!
“Yehaheeeh” -Old Voldy 2011😂
I kinda want a "What if Snape didn't hold a grudge against Harry for looking like james" kind of video. That'd certainly change things.
What if Snape adopted Harry when he went to the Potter's house?
11:01 - I cannot explain how hard I laughed at this
The flaw in this plan is that the Weasleys couldn't have taken in another child. They were too poor. Even with Harry's inheritance, which they wouldn't use, couldn't help.
I don't think McGonagall was only watching to see how the Dursley's were, she was probably on official Order of the Phoenix business protecting Petunia from possible death eater retribution immediately following the first fall of Voldemort
the two major what ifs i want are:
What if Dudley was a Wizard?
Can't wait for part 2 guys! Great video as always
Voldamort's laugh it's so funny the way you use it.
Ron Weasley…. more like Ross Weasley. This story made me appreciate OG Book Ron even more
But would Gryffindor still win in that scenario? If you recall, it’s Ron’s PLUS Harry’s PLUS hermione’s PLUS Neville’s points that win them the cup. Without Ron, that means Neville would probably get the points that Ron normally gets, but that still leaves Gryffindor TIED with Slytherin, and Slytherin would probably win, as they got the points first. Doesn’t change the plot too much, but just something to thing about.
Can’t wait for Harry’s vacation to Egypt. And what will Petegrew be up to with a decade of living under the same roof, will Sirius attack the Burrow?
HEYYY BROTHERRRRR
HEEY BROTHER!
11:50 he’s forgotten his robes btw to anyone who still didn’t know that
i can not imagine any world where ron or any hufflepuff actively tried to get harry expelled by informing McGonagall that hes going to SNEAK A DRAGON up a tower. sorry but you lost me entirely there. that is just not a thing that would ever happen in any universe
I got a bad feeling for Ron in this version...
⚠️Off topic from video, day twenty three of asking for what ifs⚠️
1: What if Dudley went to Hogwarts?
What if Hermione was in Ravenclaw: Harry dies.
“Come on Scabbers! Let’s go Swiff!” That line made me so cracked up 😂
I don't have a clue on Earth why it is so complicated to give Ron the motivation to join Hufflepuff.
It's not called "pettiness," it's called "being siblings"
Two videos in two days. Let's go!!
Hi Ben!
I hope you turn this into a whole series.
Don't forget the most important part. Ron doesn't get a maroon sweater, probably a yellow one.
