- Hello everyone! Today I am going to flush the transmission fluid on my 2002 TOYOTA Sienna. The total transmission fluid in this minivan is approximately 10 3/4 quarts.
Supply needed:
- a plier, long nose plier
- 2 clear plastic hoses, 3 feet each
- 10 quarts of transmission fluids
- oil drain pan
Safety Warning:
1. Always have a jack stand support installed before you get under the minivan.
2. Wear eyes protection like safety glasses or safety google.
3. Never work under a minivan alone.
now i know how to change the transmission fluid on my van.thank you!
This is for 2002 sienna. Drain and refill needs 3.7qts; Dry refill needs 6.9 qts as per service manual. Approx 3.5qt/7.0 qts easy to remember. drain plug bolt torqued to 36ft/lb as per Sienna service manual
Can I just drain and fill once and it’ll make my transmission healthier?
How to find hoses and indentify? How to identify transmission drain bolt? size? These need to be mentioned. Your accent is good. You are smart.
Thank you.
Pretty good overall but you only need to disconnect the output hose from the trans cooler and hookup a clear hose. Get your new fluid ready and with a helper in the car, have them start and put the car in Drive/Reverse a few time to get the fluid circulating from the torque converter. MAKE SURE NOT TO LET IT RUN LONGER THAN it takes for you to replenish with new oil through the level check stick hole. It's ok to stop the car to fill roughly what comes out. You would have to measure precisely if we didn't have a level check stick. No need to blow air anywhere. Repeat until the fluid is clear. Then check level after and add or remove overage. This is where its' ok to be a quart shy during refill so you don't need to remove overage.
Excellent!!!
We need more close up of diy.
What size clear hose did you use?
Why did you take the high pressure off at the engine before the transmission cooler? Why would you not just take the return line After the transmission cooler and tap it there into your drain bucket to flush all that as well?? That's what I'm going to do..
Which is the high pressure hose and which is the return hose?
@4:28 what is the use of connecting clear pipe to inlet of the Trany (at right nozzle) ?
I think it is not needed.
Manual shows to use Dex III oil
you're correct! easy way to find out is by pulling out the deepstick wipe it clean and will show at the bottom
Dex IV is backward compatible.
I don’t see the necessity of removing the transmission hoses
T-IV is not right number for this car
BomJimmy I was thinking that
It's backwards compatible.
