Making an 18th Century Bargello Pocket

  • The making of an 18th century inspired bargello (flame stitch) tie on pocket to go with a late 18th century ensemble. The pocket is made of counted natural linen canvas with cotton embroidery floss, heavy weight bleached linen, and cotton twill tape.
    The process took over 60 hours (4 seasons of Criminal Minds and various UA-cam videos) and was a fun transition project.

    What a stunning pocket. You've given me ideas of things I can make using the Bargello embroidery (I learned this in my teens, more years ago than I care to think about).

    Wow. Looks great. I didn’t understand how you did it because you went pretty fast though. Maybe a slower tutorial? Im not sire I have that kind if time though really.
    It is perfect though.
