The guitars were outstanding, spot on. Keybords were damn good too. Musically that was as close as we will ever hear Serpent to the original. Some of the harmonies were great too. Thats a difficult vocal to nail! The final harmony was as good as the original. JC and JP were brought back to life in that performance, those guys were smiling down on you with that performance. Do you guys cover other Wooden Nickel era songs? Love to hear you guys cover A Day, Man of Miracles, Best Thing, Children of the Land, Mother Nature's Matinee, You Better Ask and more. You guys are Bad ASS!
Serpent is by far my favorite. So much good material on this album, but so poorly produced it virtually got disowned by the band. I'm even surprised to find any live material of it. Great performance, and great tribute to JC!
The serpent Is rising ha qualcosa che nella struttura del brano.i richiama PICTURES OF A CITY dei KING CRIMSON tratto dall'album IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON del 1970 . The SERPENT IS RISING è decisamente uno degli albums più PROG ROCK oriented degli STYX !!!!!!! Dopo PIECES OF EIGHT la band è andata verso lidi più softrock e pop annacquando di più sia il prog rock ed anche lheavy!!!!!!! Cornestone e Paradise Theatre sono stati l'inizio di quel corso , intendiamoci due albums comunque piacevoli ancora da ascoltare con un certo gusto .
