Thank you for promoting Dacian->Romanian history. Very very rare from a westerner.

Sarmisegetuza is very difficult to get to. Even now, it's a long walk uphill from the carpark, with the odd viper in the bushes

@cris - the alley to Sarmizegetusa is indeed long and steepish, but it is pretty wide and paved, easy to spot an odd viper if watching your step.

Culturally it is that the getae dacians are the ancestors of the vikings because the vikings are indoeuropeans too.
The vikings are the russian slavs with haplogroup R1a thogh.
Russia main haplogroup is R1a ( 60%) and this is used to track the vikings migrations.
      Slavs that reached Scotland.
And they used dacian swords, falx, when they guarded Constantinople.

This is good. Cotizo is Kozon.
Dacians and Getae are the same.
Dacians called themselves getae not dacians, the capital name says it all, SarmiseGETuza. (sarmi means tied, allied and means allied gets-getae.)
Make one about Dromichaete. To me he is very interesting and wise and you have what to show about him, his tomb from Bulgaria in Svestari.

Let us remember that 'Dacia' is the term used by Classical Roman historians, and its original pronunciation in Classical Latin is 'Dakia.' The Italian and Romanian pronunciations, while reflective of their respective linguistic evolutions, represent phonological adaptations rather than the historically accurate Latin form.

Most important is that dacians called themselves Getae not dacians.

    • @UlpianHeritor
      @UlpianHeritor День тому +1

@@mihaiilie8808 We don't know what the Dacians called themselves. According to Cassius Dio, the Roman term "Dakii" is derived from what the Dacians purportedly called themselves.
Also, if your "Sarmisegetusa" theory is correct, where does 'Sarmise' come from, Sarmatians? That would suggest that the Dacians have a half Ukranian origin.

The word sarma is proto indoeurooean, comes from Romania and means,, legatura,, to tie.
Sarmale, stuffed cabbage, means,, tied meat,,.
As for the celts, they were all calling themselves getae, even the gauls ( VercinGETorix).
Its because the getae are the ancestors of all the celts.

Burebista was a Getan not a Dacian . Main source is Strabo who differentiate the Dacians and the Getae by the space they occupied . Getae , south of Carpathians and lower Danube Valley , Dacians upper Danube Valley , North and West of Carpathians . So , one could say that Burebista , a Getan , united some Getae tribes with Dacian tribes . Since than we assimilate Dacians with Getae , otherwise there is no evidence of Dacians and Getae being same people or even Dacians existing in the above mentioned space , before 2nd century BC .
