- This Video I took whilst working at RS Fabrications in Banbury, Oxfordshire now in Towcester, Northants. We took in this Ford GT 40 Replica for a full stainless steel exhaust system to the original cars design. Once complete was pushed outside to be started by the collecting owner but did suffer a little stage fright. Enjoy.
My dream car since i was 8, this build is almost identical to the original one

Thanks, its a shame I couldn't take it home. I have scratched that kit car itch by building my own in the shape of a Lotus 7.

Hi, thanks for your comment, I would only hope nothing as most of if not all fuel powered cars that are on the road will be allowed to continue till they come to the end of their useful time on the road. It is a lottery weither kit cars will be allowed as they will be born from a donor but if aiming for a new registration then it will be subject to the regs of the time, ie electric or fuel cell I guess.

@@thethatchershow replica means not original? Originaly gt40? What is the problem of Engine? Injectors or pump problem?
@@Atila643 hi thanks for the comment, it was fuel starvation as it was a very hot day and most likely not started for a while with no exhaust on it. Regards.

Should try and find a different pump set up. It quite loud for a solid state pump you think? Or maybe rubber mount it to reduce the noise? Otherwise nice start up from dry
Hi, yeah might of been the case but being around tens years ago it most likely been through a few fuel pumps by now. When at this stage of a build you just want to get it running and sort one niggle at a time. After this day I recorded the video never saw it again. Thanks for the feedback.
how much would it cost to have a good replica gt40 ?
Hi, it really depends on the quality of the build, spec and parts used, you could use use second hand parts or buy new high end parts which could be the difference between a build costing 25k and 50k the sky is the limit as the GT40 is a high end kit car before you start. Thanks for your interest.

Never start an engine if your not behind the controls note when leaning in his right leg was in contact with the gear shift, it could have enguaged gear & if it started the rest is what happened to many.
After you build these replicas are they good to handle? Or do they have some technical details?

Why would you "record" that ?
You'll be surprised how exciting a first start of a engine with a exhaust that's just been fitted to a fresh built engine as it is the character of a whole car, and with the GT40 is a very unique exhaust configuration with a great sound. Oh and 6.3k views can't be wrong. Thanks for your comments. 👍
