+Arun R. I believe there are mods available to have Sunny as a companion, maybe even romance her. But unfortunately it is not possible in the vanilla game.
+Odbarc Ignore these others slamming you for taking 500 hours. You know, sometimes, it is about exploring, role play, and not getting through as fast as possible. I could be done now, but I chose to wander the countryside rather than press forward with the main quest. That's just how I played.
The AstroNerdBoy Your description is how an overwhelming majority of people choose to play Fallout. Taking their time, assessing side quests, completing them prior to moving forward with the main story-line. Taking in the scenery & looting everything they possibly can. However, nobody, spends 500 hours, completing something that couldn't possibly take more than maybe 50 (liberally), not including DLC or playing through second and third times, to only just now find out you can side with someone else to get a different assortment of images played in a(n) alternate order at the completion of the game.
I want to imagine an interview with Doc Mitchell. "So Doc, tell us what happened?" "Well, I got this girl with gaping hole in her head in my house. I fixed her up, she told me her name was Courier, stood up, pushed me in my chair to ask her some question. She rushed through them quickly, then left without ransacking my house (which is weird because literally everyone else does it). A few moments later I heard an explosion from Goodsprings, ran out and saw the girl going with God's speed to noone knows where. 10 minutes later the radio said that Mr. House is dead. Another 5 minutes have passed and the Battle of Hoover Dam has started which ended in 3 minutes. Now these robots with soldier faces roam everywhere. What a crazy day."
Imagine how this would be for a citizen of New Vegas. In the period of less than 2-3 hours(since he did the thing where he waited for an hour twice, I believe) some fucking chick comes in and fucks everything up and turns the world upside down. Then she stands staring at a door without moving for 12+ hours. DOing nothing just standing there. Then all of a suddens he starts running and in the next 5 minutes manages to end a civil war and gets both factions to leave.
imagine you shoot someone and leave them for dead, and within 24 hours theyre back at your doorstep. within 20 minutes of regaining consciousness after surviving a bullet to the head, they're there. and god dammit are they mad.
"Hello, it's Mr. New Vegas here. Yesterday, a Courier who was shot in the head has made a full recovery. One second... Ok, in other interesting news-Mr House is dead and the previously mentioned Courier has taken over New Vegas. The Legion is also making a full retreat. I promise this isn't some kind of practical joke."
Benny: Finally got the platinum chip! Got that courier out of the way and everyth-, wait, the courier's alive?! Well that shouldn't be a problem, not like she's gonna find me. Wait, she's here?!!? What? She's already at the casino??!!
***** New Vegas is one of my all-time favorite games. I don't like to exploit glitches when I do playthroughs, but I do metagames like playing the whole game bare handed and with no armor. I've considered doing a crippled bare naked run if I ever stream the game seriously but we'll see.
The people that complain about glitches in speedruns are hilarious. The point of a speedrun is to use all the tools the game gives you to go as fast as possible. Everyone knows Bethesda games are glitchy as hell and it's more entertaining this way... Even if they found one that didn't use glitches, they'd complain that they used Very Easy mode... Smh.
I know that using glitches and exploits is not only permitted but requiered to compete in speed runs but I just can't take seriously speedruns when they are handled that way. I wish that rules were changed so that you can't take advantage of game's bugs. Play it as fast as you can, the best way you can, but without exploiting game's imperfections.
+borek92 Personally i dont mind some "game bugs". But when you're walking at 160% speed, going through walls, etc... congratulations, you won while being on steroids.
"The glitches/exploits used in the run all involve quicksaving and quickloading (abbreviated as QSQL), and it's used for skipping NPC dialogue (Doc Mitchell notably), clipping through walls and to get a glitch called Speedcripple. We get Speedcripple using the Mercenary's Grenade Launcher from the Courier's Stash DLC, because it's faster and easier to pull off the glitch with. When you cripple your leg, your speed is set to 0, then bring back to 60% of your normal speed. By quickloading just before getting crippled, you can confuse the game into giving you 60% without actually being put to 0 ( because we don't actually really get crippled). So you get a huge speedboost, and walk at 160% of your normal speed." So in other words, he got the record by cheating. YAY FOR YOU!!! LOSER.
+Pajama Prepper (KC1CWP) It's not cheating, it's all in the game, although it might not be considered legitimate, it's like exploiting the rules in a game, stuff like "your tallest player has to be under 6'7", and getting someone considered to be 6'6.9 or something. It's fair, but looked down upon.
Maybe it's just me. I'm a console player. I doubt there is any way to beat any of the Fallout games legitimately in less than a week.. Also, when talking about games like Fallout, GTA, Red Dead Redemption etc, "beat the game" means 100% completion. You probably could complete the main story in Fallout 4 in about 6-10 hours. I haven't played New Vegas to completion so I'm not sure with that one.
robloker8 It's bullshit because if someone can earn the title of "record breaker" without adhering to 100% natural gameplay, anyone can say they beat the record if they find a way to glitch or manipulate the coding. I could probably beat New Vegas in 10 minutes if I set the game up so the enemies health is minimal, dialogue is sped up, loading speed increased etc. Either you play the game as it was intended to be played and become the record breaker legitimately, or you don't.
Why are there a bunch of idiots in the comments who dont know what speedruns are? This is any% which means abusing glitches/exploits are allowed. This guy probably put a lot of work and months of practice into this, just congratulate him ffs
the exploits are cool and Idk how you would find all these. But I'm really interested to see how quick someone can do it legitimate without the exploits. Also I didn't know you could talk your way out of fighting the Caesar boss at the end, good job man!
And so HollazHalan who had cheated his movement speed in the tutorial town of Goodsprings cheated the entire game once again, and the speedrunning community was forever changed. HollazHalan, with the aid of QSQL, drove both the other speedrunners and audience members from their expectations, securing their respect from both factions. Preferring neither the best of the speedrunners nor the worst of the audience, HollazHalan was the man responsible for a truly perfect speedrun. And so HollazHalan's road came to an end... for now. Meanwhile, Sunny Smiles sits alone, lonely in the Prospector Saloon, losing hope in the possibility of the Courier ever stopping by.
+47Jaspers At least she survives, which is more than I can say for either playthrough I've tried... :( :'(
+47Jaspers Its only been 20 minutes, she probably thinks he stopped to use the bathroom or something
+47Jaspers Is there a way to romance Sunny Smiles in Fallout New Vegas?

Meanwhile i just finished creating my character at 20min mark
+Dariel Lim It took me 500 hours to finish this game. And then I find out there's DLC and multiple endings.
+Odbarc How is that actually possible? Were you staring at the floor for 10 hours regularly?
+Odbarc That's 480 more hours than anyone else, wow.
Do you also celebrate riding the short-bus? Lol.

Hah not even, Benny was dead at the 8 minute mark
that's even better. (ive never played fallout before 4 so i wrote this comment fully expecting to blow it somehow haha)
oh my god, I laughed so much when you used black widow to deal with Benny. Who knew that would be the "fastest" way to beat Vegas....

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
So many people who have no idea what an any% speedrun is and call him out for 'cheating' in the speedrun.
Lol right
Even though it explains it in the description
Amazing. Very well earned. Congrats on the record.
That was amazing
+WrecklessEating lol surprised to see you here i just watched that jenga video
+WrecklessEating And here I thought I could beat it quickly.

"Be sure its true, when you say 'I love you'"...
I like how low graphics settings loads NPCs way close, letting you run around the mojave practically trouble free
Says "(Without Loads)" Uses reload trick at the 2:25 mark to increase movement speed. I call shenanigans.
+Keleigh Hardie "without loads" refers to no loading-time included in the speed run.
+Artur Kirkoryan haha this guy lol !
So, reloading the game multiple times to make it go faster, but not counting the time it takes to do that. Seems legit.
+Keleigh Hardie It's so people with slower computers and longer load times can still compete with something as arbitrary as load times.
+draco9719 Which is fair, it would be so heartbreaking if you had a record winning run, and you lost because of load times.
Take it slow now.
+Chad Fahlman It AINT A RACE.
Doc Mitchell knew from the start.
+SweetWheatsy lmboo
Benny literally got fucked. 10/10.
Featuring Yes Man's 14 hour speech
So awesome. will there be any speedruns for DLC? Dead Money would be very interesting to see
Usually I would talk myself out of speedruns like this out of them being too long, but 20 mins? God damnit....
Or alternative title: How to get to vegas in 10 minutes in regular play
Man, New Vegas was truly invaded by Caesar and his Legion.
I am...blown away. I laughed through it because I was so impressed
Talk to Sunny Smiles in the Prospector Saloon.
I would love to see this video dubbed with commentary on why the player is doing certain things. Fascinating stuff though!
The people that complain about glitches in speedruns are hilarious. The point of a speedrun is to use all the tools the game gives you to go as fast as possible. LOL - If Benny didn't teleport, I bet you he'd just be crossing Novac by the time you shot House in the face!
Awesome run, incredibly impressive!
Holy crap! O.o
That was beautiful...
He got far into the game within 10 minutes whereas it took me about half a month to get there.
wow, hearing the italian dub really make me appreciate how well done the english voiceacting is.
I know that using glitches and exploits is not only permitted but requiered to compete in speed runs but I just can't take seriously speedruns when they are handled that way. +borek92 look up glitcheless runs then.
+borek92 Any% is exploits of all kinds.
Glitchless is what you want.
+borek92 Exploiting these bugs/glitches in the correct way actually takes a ton of practice, precision, and skill.
***** Yes. It takes more skill than just completing the game regularly, in my opinion.
+borek92 Personally i dont mind some "game bugs". But when you're walking at 160% speed, going through walls, etc... congratulations, you won while being on steroids.
Anyone else notice that for some reason "Okay" was spoken in English when the Italian dialogue was happening in the beginning?
24:5.0 is the total time with loading screens added.
Went downstairs, popped Mr. House's seal of freshness, capped him and ran off. All business baby.
This is a surreal clipping experience.
You know, you have really nothing to do, if you watch some guy running through the wasteland for 20 minutes.
Dennis Kimetto world merathon champion left sports after this. it was lile 100 miles in 20 min.
Nicely done sir.
"The glitches/exploits used in the run all involve quicksaving and quickloading (abbreviated as QSQL), and it's used for skipping NPC dialogue (Doc Mitchell notably), clipping through walls and to get a glitch called Speedcripple.

robloker8 Exactly. But regardless of if it was cheating or just plain illegitimate, it's bullshit.
+Pajama Prepper (KC1CWP) And why would it be bullshit if he didn't use any outside programs or exploits?

60$ for only 20 minutes of gameplay, damn
+aaron qureshi New Vegas was never at $60. You can buy it for $2.5 now.
Its more than 20 minutes
what's happening at the 18:40 mark where he keeps waiting for an hour at a time?
Listening to this sounds like assassins creed 2
lol why italian? does it speed up the game?
Even though it was spanish
+Raul Alfonso Tejada nah, it wasn't
Oscar Ash sure?
+Raul Alfonso Tejada Yes, it's italian.
+Raul Alfonso Tejada I speak spanish. it wasn´t. yiss, why every american hears another language automatically thinks its spanish.

And i have 500+ Hours on FNV and still haven't beat it
mods?
Yes
Matthew Owens I got 106 hours with out mods try to do that
Lots of weird load things while falling mid-air and bizarro glitches.
completely legit.
Any%
It took the courier 20 minutes to resolve the conflict in the Mojave. What did you do today?
His agility must be 10 or something because he's running fast as hell lol. Oh and this is awesome for him to beat the record.
+DragonGamer 725 Read the description.
Well done. I've 9GAG'd on the throne longer than that.

There are still legitimate but in a different category of speedruns with some without glitches and some with them

I dont think you know what cheating is m8
wish I could go through colleague like that
It would genuinely be more impressive with no glitches and no couriers dlc. But then this time would be impossible.
Grandissimo!
That was really fucking awesome.
thought id see the fastest run with a challenge but i guess "Very Easy / softcore" is the way to go if you wanna be the fastest ...
Any speedrun of this game of getting 100% like Admiral Bahroo of BL2? If that isn't possible, just say it, it would be impressive to get 100% of items or something along those lines.
Okay 14:04 made me laugh a bit too much.
>that first segment title
Oh you.
what was the point going inside white glove casino??
If only Amazon was this quick...
nice but what happened when he met the brotherhood of steel?
Ahh, I used to play Fallout NV so much on the Xbox 360, but now I stopped...

First I've ever heard the game in Italian. It sounds fucking comfy though.
What is he doing at the end when he keeps waiting for 1 hour during that dialogue
+ceelist Trying to skip waiting so long for Yes Man to tell him about the securitrons. If you keep waiting it will let you skip poritons of dialogue.
