Will Netflix win the streaming wars?

- HBOMax, Disney+, AppleTV+, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, UA-camTV… These are just SOME of the participants in the so-called streaming war. But the big question for Lou is - will these new services will affect the cost and experience of watching TV?

Legend has it that Lou is living his life
This comment actually made me smile. Thanks :)
I literally got triggered when you intentional buffered i have a problem.
My heart literally dropped
I got so confused and it took me a sec to connect the dots lol
We all did cuz we've all been successfully programed by society lmfao
lol
I'm not paying cable-level prices for streaming services. If it gets to the point that what I watch is so split up that it gets expensive, I'll drop the screens and start reading more. They're trying to milk their audience right out of their services.
you know you can just pirate. buy whatever platform you most watch at and is the most convenient, and just pirate the rest. easy and simple
Do like I did and get a VPN. It's well worth the money. You can figure out the rest of the equation. ;)
Sean Aaron cable cutting is just getting worst every year.
@Sean Aaron I like you pic. Where is it from :)?
@@__-wc5zn it's one of the covers for the book Neuromancer
I miss you so much Lou. :(
Lou my man, do your cocktail readings tell you to give us more beme news yet? 🙏🙌
If you wanna be price-centric, nothing beats paying $50 for a multi-year VPN subscription and then torrenting to your heart's content.
Better yet just get a seed box. Basically the same thing as a VPN. You can direct download/torrent it onto the seed box, than direct download it from there. The internet is fast on them, so the only limit is your personal internet. If a studio gets mad, they just send the seedbox company a letter to take it off your server. At that point it doesn't matter cause you already downloaded it.
Thanks for the reminder, I'll set that up today. We should all be using VPN anyway for all browsing.
@@BeastinlosersHD I didn't know this was a thing already! I read about them years ago. Sounds really convenient. Are they cheaper than a VPN, though?
@@BeastinlosersHD do you have anymore info on how to that?
@@Dave102693 I'm good with computers, and I dont know how good you are, but just look up seedbox and follow some tutorials. Check the seedbox subreddit, and ask about what best fits your needs. Just know you want a hosting company that wont forward DMCA and copyright notices to you, and will keep you essentially outside of the law since they don't have to work with US law enforcement.
@ 4:34 That's exactly why Netflix is STILL kicking Amazon videos butt!!! The user interface on AV is tragic. All of the seasons stored separately etc.
Matt Smith but the shows on amazon video are more high quality imo
I took the abbreviated AV as something else...
Agreed. It's a shame because the x-ray feature is really cool, and on mobile downloads are fast and reliable with useful data usage options
I got rid of HULU because of the abuse of ads..I pay for this to NOT watch ads.. the enjoyment of pure streaming with no interruptions is over #endofanERA
I did the same a few months ago. There are more ads now in the paid version of Hulu than back in the day when it was all free and you'd only have to watch a couple of ads for any show.
@@dnyalslg I'm glad I'm not the only one that seen it
I feel the same way watching Amazon.
@@MatthewStinar it's starting there as well I have noticed..even watching power on stars..that a paid for..there is still commercials..so I ain't watching it!!..lol
@Rgmm because no matter what..you will have ads..no matter what u pay 4... just wait
Lou, we miss you.
Please come back, we miss you!
This channel had such good analysis and reporting. Shame they are gone for now.
you right not all content is equal this is the best show on beme
As your loyal audience Lou, you owe us nothing, but I still think you should give us a little update on insta or Twitter on what happened.
Ps. You should try to get funding to start a small government funded youtube show for NRK in Norway.
Millenials understand English, so you shouldn't really need to learn the language.
Where are you Lou??? Three months and No videos? We miss you!!!
How about how the fragmentation of content across multiple services, is resulting in a resurgence of Piracy?!
Can we please get an update on what happened or at least a goodbye by you guys :/
I don't necessarily watch a ton of Amazon Prime contents, but the Prime service has so many "no drop" features, that I'm not going to leave just because there isn't a new show to watch. Netflix, I literally watch every day, even if it's just stand-up running in the background while I work. The rest of them (especially Hulu) are prime for churning, because of inconsistent releases or content that isn't part of the social conversation.
Piracy is making a stronger comeback
Like TeaTV
we've been right here all along ol b
My heart rate rose considerably when you threw in that fake buffer damn you BEME!
I missed this show so much
No one is going to win except one- Piracy.
The official end of a company created by Casey
I don't know why no one else is talking about it. Have people forgotten the channel already?
What a waste of money from CNN... Casey sold them the idea of a hip news show for millennials with a big pre built fanbase to boot. Problem is millennials won't commit to any one outlet, and Casey's fanbase is not dumb enough to be sold out.
What happened to beme news?
Hilarious that you placed the buffering edit into your video 😂
Where is lou now?
Where has Beme News been? Its been almost 2 months now :(
samcopus1 they ran out of start up money. Even though it only takes three part time to run it
@@a-10wartaboo77 Its been so long since I posted this comment that I completely forgot I was subscribed to them
Companies still need to be profitable. It's possible these companies could become like the traditional networks again. Broadband and telecommunication companies perform M&As and we're right back to where we started.
Culture seems to swing back and forth. But, I'm also interested in seeing another outcome!
~Piracy is gonna win with so much confusion and exclusives
TeaTV Is on the rise!
So sad that it ended, Beme News was one of my favorite things on UA-cam :( Lou should make a channel and continue
5:05 That was good. If you hadn't done it, it would have been a missed opportunity!
For those wondering, here is the most recent tweet (3/13/20) from Lou about Beme twitter.com/LouFoglia/status/1238521173526355969
thx KING 👑🥺
Can’t believe Casey sold this “company” for 25 million dollars to CNN lmao. Beautiful marketing for a nice polished turd.
he didnt sell the "company" for 25mil, CNNs purpose of the 25mill for beme was actually the 25 mill for casey and his development team. they didnt give a shit about the app and never did, thats why the app shut down around 3 months after casey had it bought out. sure beme news was founded and that was a goal of CNN but at the end of the day CNN was just trying to reach a younger audience and thats where casey and his development team had come in.
Rip beme loved it while it lasted
You guys have created great news content on net, why quit?
So few views. Marketing wasn't up to the par.
Where has Beme News gone? Social media silence and the channel isn't putting out content. What's going on?
Come back :(
I think that with all these streaming services, they will all eventually come in packages and will just practically become like regular TV again.
TheDeadlykoala You cant use boomer tricks on millennials, we are wise to the dumb fuckery
Ghost Noodle But the problem is if they become like cable then their will be no alternative.
Oh so, this channel just suddenly stopped?
Came here looking for an answer aswell
@@drkmattrchscake4237 I can't fund anything. All their social media just stopped and their personal social media mentions nothing at all. Like it never happened.
why has the views on this channel dropped recently?...this channel deserves way more views!!
Lou is not doing BEME anymore. damn
RIP Beme
When's the next beme videos coming, I miss you guys
@Programmer David :(
I just remembered this bomb ass channel today and got super excited to watch a year of content, to realize, they still haven't reuploaded
@@ghostnoodle9721 it's sad to see such a good youtube channel go MIA
Got I miss Lou so much
but have you seen *"The Boys"?*
to bad Amazon Videos UI is trash.
Master Driver of Toyota Zupr4 they can’t even master a decent fast forward function... they have a couple billion dollars and zero self awareness
That's why watching their shut is so hard.
it's ridiculous, plus everything is divided into seasons. I can't just add the office go my watch list I have to add like the office season 3.
The boys is easily the best Amazon tv show
if they want ads, then i won't pay. nuff said.
What happened? Why no more videos in months?
Really bummed out that beme doesn't release videos anymore. These were really informative. Good while it lasted Lou :)
You forgot to tell that this ecosystem is bringing back alive and boosting the good old torrent and pirate sharing.
TeaTV Is just better.
Watched Van Neistat, then an old Casey Neistat, now checking out beme.
One thing's for sure: consumers will lose the streaming war. What consumers need it's the separation of content creation and content distribution. If a show it movie is available to stream, it should me available on every streaming platform. Ending exclusive content is a matter of consumer protection. Industry licensing bodies could manage comprehensive catalogs of content and distribute license fees to members content creators, a little like the way music licensing is handled.
I can't wait for that day
Netflix will have the same fate as beme news 😂
Netflix has done what the customer wanted to the best of their ability. In this day and age that's what it will take to win. Ads are not thinking about the customer, just money.
I think one should have the option to pay on a monthly basis :)
Instead of continuously renewing Auto-Pay.
Can't I get just A Month for like 8 to 12.99 ?
RIP Beme. Quarantine has brought me here
Where's BEME News? It's been 2 months since the last post :(
It's been 3 weeks and here's the thing, where's Lou?
iSlandeRon They pulled the plug on Beme news
Philip Eng I saw their views became Paulty. That sucks.
I wonder what Lou is up to... Man was this a different time.
I miss this series so much. Lou, where are you????
😂the thumbnail made me think Beme was coming out with a streaming service.
no more beme news i guess
I'm only doing 2 streaming services. Right now, it's UA-cam premium and Netflix. And ya, I'll probably end-up "churning" Netflix with other services. But I won't add anymore than 2 services.
hey Lou I used to be subbed to you guys, and recently wondered where all your videos went.. i started watching back during your airbnb video a little over a year ago... turns out UA-cam unsubbed me and thats why i missed your stuff.. sorry about that and im glad you guys are still making content, thank you for all your hard work, you and the whole team... ill see you guys at the next video.... I resubbed BTW dont worry :^) this time i rung the bell too
No more beme?
So.. Beme is dead?
Is this channel dead now?
Once they add ads to the service I'm paying I'll drop it faster then that ad finishes and find a different streaming service to pay for. I feel the whole point of paying is to get away from these ads
We miss you
They are in it too late. I refuse to buy into hbo and other bs services. I stream because it’s cheap. And now with UA-cam, if they up streaming prices I will leave Hulu and Netflix and use free content only!
Moriah Green you mean stealing content.
@@bsfatboy you mean like america oil from africa or your education system the future of your children?
I think she will still go to heavn.
@@stonyfunfazwansk2672 What are you talking about? where does oil and education connect with stealing streaming content.
WHAT HAPPENED TO BEME?
What needs to happen is a few single companies gain a stronghold whereby you can pay for them and get >3 companies without paying 3x the price. For example, paying $/£/€20 / month for Apple TV and getting Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu included. You might ask why this would work, but if a company could gain a significant subscriber base, they would have the buying power to get, for example, Netflix, to lower the price per Apple TV customer below the price Netflix themselves offers. Consumer will not pay extortionate prices for individual services, nor become members of >3 monthly subscription services so this would make a lot of sense
Nah screw this streaming services are gonna get get way too expensive with everything all split up. Welp BACK TO KODI !
thumbs up for that buffer stop... you got me
Lou i miss you
I miss these, Lou was dope!!
Nothing can beat UA-cam. I have both Netflix and crave but find UA-cam more entertaining than everything else combined.
Seriously thought my video buffered, so I double tapped to go back to find out what I 'missed' 😂😂
if netflix stops existing, or there is ever a single(1) ad on it, I go pirate bay only
The streaming services better get their act together or they will be bankrupt before really taking off.
No
Those who can't afford will torrent the shows
Where did Lou go 😞
I am so sad beme news stopped
Does Lou do anything now ?
Where did y’all go?
Just pirate what you want
What happened my guy? Where you been?
You bring up some factors that we don't usually cover, like the billions Netflix is spending in tech year over year, in addition to content spend.
I certainly see why news corporations need multiple 'opponents' going against each other, but if you truly want to make to make sense of the direction premium subscription media is heading, start with the fact that there will be a few winners in the war.
Today, on average there are 3 subscriptions per streaming household. We are going to see a bunch of new players like HBO Max, Peacock, Quibi and even a service by Discovery and BBC. We are going to have multiple major streaming services, all specialising in a certain type of content, while also offering substantial evergreen, mainstream movies and shows.
Where is Lou?
are you guys gonna come back?
I will miss u guys... its sad that beme stoped
Is it dead, or just on vecation ?
If you have internet access then you really don't need anything else you can watch anything and everything on it if you look hard enough.
Im pretty sure that what people want is one platform where all the shows are. I personally wouldnt mind paying a higher price for that.
But for now illegal streaming will rise again
@@stonyfunfazwansk2672 aye, i aint getting sum HBO streaming next to the netflix, pirating is the way
Tech companies have a huge advantage. For example, Netflix has dedicated servers physically sitting at each major ISP hub, with all their content ready to stream over the "last mile", to prevent lag. It will take quite a while for media companies to put similar infrastructure in place -- unless they get help. Could a tech company, like Amazon, actually help its media streaming competitors by allowing them to piggy back on their server technology and infrastructure ( let's not forget that Amazon owns undersea internet cables! ), for a share of their subscription fees? ...The same sort of 'strange bedfellows' deals happened between competitors in related industries in the past, like Apple and Samsung.
Im gonna like this just for that slick edit
No more new stuff from Beme?
Dose anyone knows what happened to this UA-cam channel????
There's bugs... and buffering edit. Too nice😂
Haha 05:05 I had to rewind my video thinking I had connection issues😅👌🏿
Uhmm, can somebody tell me what happened to this channel?
Come back Beme :(
Im back after remembering my favorite mixed knowledge news channel, Beme News WE MISS YOU COME BACK I GOT COOKIES
Lou! Where did you go? I miss you! Tell me what the thing is!
Does it look as if his desk is slanted/ off kilter? Or maybe its just the camera angle?
I can hardly wait to see as a huge aggregator platform will interconnect all of the media and tech giants in one platform XD Truly the winner will be that one XD
That's something I can see Apple or Google do.
That was effectively be what Netflix was, but media companies got fed up bleeding money to a middle man.
People and money will reinforce my theory. Who wants to pay for 3 or 4 different channels to watch they like. XD It is all about pleasing the audience. If the big corporations won't notice it then other grey free channels will emerge. That is just pure demand controlled economics XD
1 suggestion: They should build up an allience a media that would share their programs selected by their viewers.
Pro: more control, Contra: less chance to dominate by one corporation
