- ...if you're a railfan in the US, chances are you've heard of Cajon Pass. With plenty of traffic, different railroads, and interesting scenery, it's definitely a railfan's paradise. Does it shine in this freeware incarnation?
It's been quite the three years. Today marks my 3rd UA-cam anniversary...here's my way of celebrating!

Grat has redon the free wear cajon pass, with new track, signals, and put FPM surfliner stations in, as well as newer buildings, and me and a friend are planing on finishing the SP side as well
Wow... Holy... Wow...!
This might very well be the single most epic review video of any kind in the history of UA-cam! Just the music alone is beyond description! I congratulate you, sir, and eagerly await your next installment!
Yeah your right about the texturing on this version of the Cajon Pass, it's way to "gray" and low-resolution and doesn't feel bright like Southern California. The pass on this version looks more like Western Washington or Wyoming at best. When I watched the video at 0:57 I was thinking "Great, this review is gonna be interesting". haha
0:56 and 2:05 ok how rare is the catch if it was real life? Probably 100/10
thanks!
People are still playing it because there are hundreds of mods for it. And the newer train simulator from steam tends to displease people.
who said he is to release it? no one, i have it, and me and another are scale railing it and adding more stuff to it, including the 3rd main
Fantastic work!
A real cliffhanger.
Looking forward to many more of these.
You are serving a very noble purpose in this hobby.
EDIT: Eastern Washington State.
a decade later and people are still playing this game.
@trmania @trmania I was talking about the "Da DA da da DA" at 5:28. Which, after listening to the full song I realize is part of it.
But it sounds just like the beginning of the Terminator 2 theme to me.
WOW, great job on the review nick.
The Terminator theme made me laugh. You make these videos rediculously epic sometimes.
BTW whre did you get the UP engines at 1:18 ??
As i recall there was a very bad accident at 2:03, 1993 i think, air hose blockage caused the train to surge out of control, shows how dangerous this pass really is, u never know what can happen in MSTS as well. Word to the wise...at the Summit...do a brake test ;)
I couldn't tell until the downsides part of the review.
I guess this is how it goes I guess.
Part 1of 2:Cajon pass (Freeware)
Part 2 of 2:Cajon pass (3DTS edition)
This looks more like 3D train stuff's design.
intense!
@trmania: Thanks, I found it. Could find it until I typed in "631" in the search field.
Were talking 'cable ready' on this one! You must have one AWESOME computer to do this stuff. For my vain attempts, it's hurking and jerking nd just can't get the vantage points. Cajon Pass is nice, but I'm seriously into your videos! :)
What editing program do you use? Great video!
Adobe Premiere Elements.
nick........get grants update, then youll think twice about saying this really aint a good route
where did you get up 1983?
idk
Geat work, where did you get all the SP and SSW stuff at 2:00??
If I was driving a train on an exact replica of this with the problems, then another train, Animal poop, and a house counts as entertainment.
Hah great job! A cliff hanger!
Are u the Friso 1522 in Sanjaun trains channel

Amazing review! But where did you get that ATSF C44-9W #631 at the end from?
