When Bowser's theme started up, I was thinking "Aw, Mario 3's theme is nice, but I like Mario 64's so much more" Then Mario 64's Bowser theme played and it was AWESOME.

I really admire the sheer scope of this project, I can tell you worked really hard on it and for the most part it's pretty solid. The melodies are mostly composed pretty accurately and the transitions are mostly really good. There were a few slip-ups or inaccurate notes in some melodies here and there, and some of the transitions felt abrupt, but these were few and far in-between. I did feel that the instrumentation was a little same-y, though. Most of the song was done via synths along with some MIDI guitar. I'm not sure how great your access to higher-quality and more varied samples are, but I felt that with a song selection as diverse as yours it could have benefited from shaking up the instrumentation style. Piano would have been killer for the Ice Climbers theme, saxophone for Meta Knight's Revenge, more winds for Dragon Roost Island, Spanish guitar for Dark Pit's Theme, and a handful of other songs could have used a more orchestral touch. Obviously when it comes to a remix medley it can be a bad call to just copy what's already been done, but I think it can be good to find a balance between being true to the original style of the song and putting your own twist on it. I also felt in a similar vein that some parts more than others seemed a bit shallow or simplistic in terms of how many different instrumental layers were going on at any one time, and it made it seem a little less professional. Sometimes musical quality is in the subtleties of how different instruments interact together at the same time. As well I also kind of question some of your song choices and feel they didn't hit the mark. I question the use of Kraid's Lair for Dark Samus when the Metroid Prime title theme made an appearance in Smash Bros. Brawl, and I also sort of question the songs that never appeared in Smash Bros. history. While I get this is an homage to the characters from Smash, Smash also had a lot of really great musical tracks represented throughout the series and passing some of them up for others seems like a bad call even if they represent the characters better. Either way though, great work!
Man, the amount of effort, love and affection that the creator put into this has no limits, I enjoy all the video, from start to finish and none of them disappoint me, it is one of the best tributes I've seen towards Smash and without doubt, one of the best videos on the platform, Sakurai would be proud!
I just had this recommended to me, I just have to say how great this whole thing is. The part that really stands out to me on a couple listenings was Diddy’s and how cool it transitioned into Lucas’. You nailed it!

This is decent overall, but I'd like to make something clear. The orchestration feels awkward, to say the least. For example, the themes you chose for some characters, namely Lucario, Simon, Meta Knight, and Bayonetta, to name a few... The steel drum definitely doesn't suit them. You went for a lot of the same instrumentals, but it's absolutely crucial that, as a composer, you should always be swapping different instruments to adjust to the appropriate music. But unfortunately, the orchestration feels stale. For example, upbeat characters like Mario, Yoshi, Diddy Kong, and Villager are best represented by softer sounds, like that of the steel drum. On the other end of the spectrum, don't be afraid to go hardcore. Shulk, Simon, Richter, Ken, and Meta Knight would have loved it if you threw some synths out the window and just jammed your heart out on the electric guitar. But Rosalina would have appreciated a gentler violin approach, as her eloquence is a prominent attribute. However, notable character's themes I enjoyed included: Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Peach, Falco, Lucario (if we remove the steel drum,) R.O.B., Toon Link (Hero of Dragon Roots,) Wolf, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Greninja, Palutena, Pac-Man, Shulk (Probably better than the original,) Dark Pit, Ryu, Cloud (You were on the right track with this,) King K. Rool, Isabelle, Ken, and Incineroar. You were going in the right direction with all of these, even if one or two didn't entirely end up perfect. But from an artist to an artist, it's crucial that you know how to adapt your style.
I agree. It seems like he was using trying to use generally the same instrument set for the whole thing, which I suppose is an okay choice for a medley, but it makes roughly a third to half of these sound a bit lackluster compared to how this could be. Then again, this is a lot of music to put together, so I can understand not feeling like going through the massive undertaking it would be to make each of these sound true their musical origins, sound good next to each other, AND sound good in character order. Much like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate itself, sacrifices must have been made to get this out in a timely manner.

If you redo this after the DLC fighters are released I have one suggested change. Could you include music from the series that have stages but no fighters? Like Electroplankton, Find Mii, Wrecking Crew etc. I just think that'd be cool, and it would really round out the franchise representation.

This is very very brilliant! Excellent work all around. The only thing I would suggest is a little more variety in the musical instruments being used, as a couple are used quite often. That's literally the only flaw I can find.

I'm not sure how great your access to higher-quality and more varied samples are, but I felt that with a song selection as diverse as yours it could have benefited from shaking up the instrumentation style. Piano would have been killer for the Ice Climbers theme, saxophone for Meta Knight's Revenge, more winds for Dragon Roost Island, Spanish guitar for Dark Pit's Theme, and a handful of other songs could have used a more orchestral touch. Obviously when it comes to a remix medley it can be a bad call to just copy what's already been done, but I think it can be good to find a balance between being true to the original style of the song and putting your own twist on it. I also felt in a similar vein that some parts more than others seemed a bit shallow or simplistic in terms of how many different instrumental layers were going on at any one time, and it made it seem a little less professional. Sometimes musical quality is in the subtleties of how different instruments interact together at the same time.
As well I also kind of question some of your song choices and feel they didn't hit the mark. I question the use of Kraid's Lair for Dark Samus when the Metroid Prime title theme made an appearance in Smash Bros. Brawl, and I also sort of question the songs that never appeared in Smash Bros. history. While I get this is an homage to the characters from Smash, Smash also had a lot of really great musical tracks represented throughout the series and passing some of them up for others seems like a bad call even if they represent the characters better.
Either way though, great work!

Man, the amount of effort, love and affection that the creator put into this has no limits, I enjoy all the video, from start to finish and none of them disappoint me, it is one of the best tributes I've seen towards Smash and without doubt, one of the best videos on the platform, Sakurai would be proud!

This is decent overall, but I'd like to make something clear.
The orchestration feels awkward, to say the least. For example, the themes you chose for some characters, namely Lucario, Simon, Meta Knight, and Bayonetta, to name a few... The steel drum definitely doesn't suit them.
You went for a lot of the same instrumentals, but it's absolutely crucial that, as a composer, you should always be swapping different instruments to adjust to the appropriate music. But unfortunately, the orchestration feels stale. For example, upbeat characters like Mario, Yoshi, Diddy Kong, and Villager are best represented by softer sounds, like that of the steel drum.
On the other end of the spectrum, don't be afraid to go hardcore. Shulk, Simon, Richter, Ken, and Meta Knight would have loved it if you threw some synths out the window and just jammed your heart out on the electric guitar. But Rosalina would have appreciated a gentler violin approach, as her eloquence is a prominent attribute.
However, notable character's themes I enjoyed included: Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Peach, Falco, Lucario (if we remove the steel drum,) R.O.B., Toon Link (Hero of Dragon Roots,) Wolf, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac, Greninja, Palutena, Pac-Man, Shulk (Probably better than the original,) Dark Pit, Ryu, Cloud (You were on the right track with this,) King K. Rool, Isabelle, Ken, and Incineroar. You were going in the right direction with all of these, even if one or two didn't entirely end up perfect.
But from an artist to an artist, it's crucial that you know how to adapt your style.

This is actually pretty good but I think the instrumentation leans a bit too much toward the synth side.
I agree. It seems like he was using trying to use generally the same instrument set for the whole thing, which I suppose is an okay choice for a medley, but it makes roughly a third to half of these sound a bit lackluster compared to how this could be.
Then again, this is a lot of music to put together, so I can understand not feeling like going through the massive undertaking it would be to make each of these sound true their musical origins, sound good next to each other, AND sound good in character order.
Much like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate itself, sacrifices must have been made to get this out in a timely manner.
