all i could say was "HOLY" repeated over and over watching the whole comp!! this really helped provide a lot of inspiration; I'm an undersized aspiring hitter, even shorter than you (Setter-focused until I can improve my vert). not only were you able to keep up with those with longer wingspans, but go above & beyond! it reminds me there's always more work to be done in the gym, you've got me doing plyos at 9AM right now 😂 congratulations on getting a benchmark for your vert; excited to see just how much more higher you can fly, Marco! as always, banger edit, Alex! appreciate the diagram, those stick figures were looking mighty sticky 😎 [SPOILERS] -----congratulations on the W, and with the boy Matt right behind! Caleb will be right up there next time, I'm sure of it!-----
I just love to watch these j was gonna wake up super early just to watch your video but I wasn’t allowed but still love it, you’re honestly my inspiration to play
43.5 is massive. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I noticed you and DTvolleyball made videos in the same gym. That's wild. I discovered his channel like a month before yours. I follow yours though because it's more advanced ball. Please tell Duy to start his approach sooner to hit quicker 1 balls. Lol
Crazy hops! I have been studying the jumping technique and noticed you seem to lean forward a lot. I want you to try to extend your legs followed by your hips and then the rest of your body. The reason you want to do this is because in my experience, if you lean forward during your approach, you tend to go diagonally rather than vertically, so you're reach wouldn't be the highest. Then again it depends on personal preference but I'd recommend you try this out. Let me know how it goes
ROAD TO 11inch REACH! idk if its me but a lot of the jumps were kinda soft? isnt it better a 4 step approach so they get the extra power and speed from running?
YES! ROAD TO 11ft. You're right about the 4-step approach. It was just a little hard to get into the rhythm of things cuz there was a lot of downtime throughout the event. If we were all warm, I'm sure everyone would have been jumping higher. Regardless, it was still a fun event :)
Dude 43.5 is crazy. I feel like you can definitely go higher since it seemed like you were drifting a little forward instead of straight up 😮 I’m going to test my vertical soon now cause I’m interested now 🤭
Thank you!! Yee I definitely need to work on going straight up for these types of comps, but I'll be sure to practice and get a lot higher for the next one
seeing how you jump i don’t believe my own vert, i’ve never tested my vertical with one of those poles but with plyometric boxes stacked on top of eachother i’ve managed to jump 45 inches with a running approach
box jump is very different and tests flexibility more than jump height, your vertical is probably much closer to 30 inches. if you ever wanted to test your vertical, just put some chalk or sticky note on your hand and try to reach as high on a wall as you can, measure that.
@@kevinzhe3513 i thought as much, it didn’t seem very realistic to be jumping at 45” with no training and with the height of 5’4, but i’ll try that out and see how it goes, thanks
MaKuro next time try running from the left since you mostly play outside i say you had a 46 inch vert if you had adrenaline rush. Niceee vert tho. Also I'm 5,7.5 standing I touch 10feet 6inches and running I touch 11feet 2inches with terrible knee pain.
I feel like you guys can improve on the reach thing. You guys jump straight up and when you try to reach you keep your shoulders in one line. but to actually reach your max, the reaching shoulder is a bit higher then the resting shoulder. Kind of like when you are hanging with one hand on a bar. Im not sure if i explained it well.
I think you stand to gain a lot more views and subs if you were to hire an editor. Love your videos and the amateur vibe honestly but most UA-cam watchers are used to short attention span jump cuts and transitions/effects. Not that you should feed into gimmicks for your videos but your videos have a lot of dead air and you could say things in less time if you just were to record yourself doing a couple takes before editing that together. I’m sure you know most of this and you’re getting better at all those things but I think if you hired someone you could just focus on the content and volleyball and probably gain a little more notoriety. Just a thought, keep up the work and the videos man!
Thanks for coming out! You all killed it!

Marco's height is supposed to be 5'11 not 4'11 right ? or am i tripping ?
Exactly there is no way he has a 7'4 standing reach, so there's no way he has a 43" vert.
the guy going at 9:30 is my coach lmao

Nope. Tbh I never really had hard volleyball training
