- So after a few weeks it's finally arrived, a 3F UL Gear Rucksack has finally arrived from AliExpress, now priced at under £45 (at time of purchase) I give my initial views on the pack and weigh it on the scales. In the future I will be hopefully taking this back out for some multi day camping and backpacking trips.
Hey mate, good little video! I’m looking into this bag... I see you’ve only filmed this 4 months ago and we’ve been in bloody lockdown half that time 😂 but have you actually managed to field test it yet? My main concern is how waterproof it is in the British climate?
Cheers
Ash 🏕
Hey Mate thanks for watching. Yeah Ive managed to squeeze in quite a few "intra" lockdown camps and hikes somehow 😏😉 And yes a few of them I was battered by the best of British weather, to be honest I always just used a bin liner at the bottom of the bag and would just throw my bag and clothes in that, i'd just loosely roll that bin bag up. Touch wood, never had any water disasters yet 👍🏼 You given me an idea for a test video though, I'll see what I can do.
@@AggyGoesOutdoors awesome buddy, thanks. Same with the sneaky camps 😉 gotta be done.
Also can I ask what belt size you went for? I’m 5’11 and about 80kg
@@AshOutdoorsUK I didn't have an option for belt sizes on mine when I bought it, it's sewn right into the body of the pack. Maybe that's a thing on the latest version 🤔🤷♂️
thanks,i will buy one soon, seems to be really great :)
Thanks for the comment, it's much appreciated. I think it is an incredibly good value pack! Keep an eye on this channel as I have some more videos coming on how I think this pack should really be loaded. 🏕️👍🏽🙏🏽
I put my sleeping mat folded inside my rucksack against my back.
Nice, as long as you don't need the inside for other gear that can work 👏🏼
I plan to use an inflatable sleeping pad so the pad on the back is a waste of weight and effort for me. However, part of my kit is always a Grabber Blanket. Depending on how I pack, I can roll that blanket/tarp into a tube and slide it inside the pack. As I place items inside of the pack, the blanket/tarp keeps everything within the shape of the pack and helps with keeping the pack rigid. This is not always desirable if you like to pack your soft items in stuff/dry sacks, but in fair weather camping, the tarp tube helps you stuff those items down into the nooks and crannies of the pack, filling spaces that might otherwise end up as dead air space.
Good review mate, just looked for it on Aliexpress, costs £60. Do you have a link where I can find it for £45?
If the link doesn't work out was Jy equipment store and it was 44.25 .

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍🏽
The older model is not sold anymore. They upgraded and now its around 70€. They seem to have improved the pack upon user feedback. Still a killer price for the bag.
New name is 3F UL QiDian PRO.
Perhaps this explains how I was able to get mine so cheaply if it was end of line stock 🤔

is the sternum strap elasticated?
No, no elastication on the sternum on my personal pack
Can't believe you didn't get the 3ful qidian pro 2020.... Way worth the little extra
I'm not familiar with this model, how does it differ? What are the specs and price?
I checked the specs, same weight, size and volume, to the eye it looks identical, it's just twice the price that I paid? 🤔🤷♂️ Am I missing something?
@@AggyGoesOutdoors the difference is t'he material of the backpack. Rest is similar
@@calvofoment I wonder how it differs because the weights are identical? 🤔
@@AggyGoesOutdoors yours is nylon (i don't remember wich kind of nylon) and qi dian pro is made with UHMWPE
