      I have a similar experience with my family and relatives, most of whom weren’t there for me when I fell ill. Having enough friends to be able to separate the true ones from fake ones is another story. As a gay living in China I can somehow relate to that. Being HIV+ is no longer a serious problem physically, but judgments from peers, potential employers, even family members can be overwhelming in a relatively conservative society. I guess Asia is generally like that.
    (Edit:)
    Just a bit clarification that I personally am not HIV positive. However, being gay really means you have to pay closer attention to this issue. I genuinely appreciate everyone who shared thoughts and observations.
    I would also like to share a joke once circulating on Chinese social media.
    Once there was a volunteering program on some college campus aimed at bringing awareness of and eliminate discriminations against HIV+ people. The volunteering girl held a sign saying "I am HIV positive, would you give me a hug?" A guy from the crowd stepped forward and hugged her. Then the reporter asked him why he was willing to embrace the volunteer. "Cuz I'm HIV positive as well." replied the guy. The girl was startled and collapsed to the ground and started screaming: "BUT ACTUALLY I'M NOT."
    Again, the above is just a JOKE and might not appear to be a real story. I shared this joke because I think whenever you say you understand someone and you don't harbor any prejudice, is it real and truly non-hypocritical?
    Self-protection is the ultimate human nature. When an HIV+ person stands in front of you, your first instinctive reactions or thoughts tell everything.

      Yes there is stigma mostly because it is a STD. But mostly people just fear of getting infected. Like the hiv virus can spread through blood, so imagine if an infected person has a little bit of normal cut which isn't even visible could still spread it. A small rash could still spread. So I'd say more than the stigma people just fear of getting infected.

      Mayoritas selalu menindas Minoritas.

      No, i even never imagined that.
      But, if you mix pills with milk or orange juice, i think it will make the milk or orange juice taste too much bitter.
      Swallowing pills just with water, for me, it has advantage, you don't need to taste how bitter it actually is.
      But i know, some people have issues with swallowing pills.
      I had seen someone tried to swallow pills using banana.
      So she chewed banana for a while, then when she ready to swallow the banana, then she get the pills and swallow it together with banana.

    • @Crustee0
      @Crustee0 4 роки тому +14

      SoulOf Whale in indonesia its actually more often to find doctors that do practices to gain money. Im one of the victims, when i was a kid i often got fever (like usual kids do) and the doctors usually prescribes these "anti" fever meds. However i would grt a fever again, with 6 months being the limit of not getting it. Then, my family find this doctor that just prescribes vitamins (like C) and treatment like cold towel compress on head (he said to only take anti fever when the temp is too high, like 40 C). Since then the rate of getting fever is lower (6 months being the fastest and can even last 1 year without fever), and usually only last 1 or 2 days at most, where before im sure it takes 2-3 days most of the time.

    • @fonsineknshr
      @fonsineknshr 4 роки тому +14

      More than likely yes he's still practicing. Indonesia predominantly despises LGBTQ people due to religious reasons and to discriminate someone, and refuse treatment, based on their sexuality is seen as a perfectly reasonable response to the general public here, which is very sad.
      I'm not a doctor, so I don't know their exact MO in this situation, but I'm a psychology major student in Indonesia and we're expected to become a psychologist one day. One of my professors said if we can't perform an unbiased consultation to someone due to conflicting values, like in this case, we can reject performing consultation to them on the basis of bias but we must find another psychologist who will have no problem performing a consultation to them, basically transferring the client to another psychologist. But at least in the end, the client will have a consultation regardless of which psychologist performs it.

    Satu lagi, tolong kalau hanya sekali jumpa jangan langsung making out, pelajari dulu perilaku pasangannya.

    People that only lived in their own country will always stick their brain with only what they knew. They never get exposed to outsiders. And it's not just Indonesia, even other Asian countries will be the same.
    It is very unfortunate and sad that so many judgment made by people who don't even know about themselves, less so about other people.
    Did you realize when someone became gay, there was a trigger for that? That maybe because of you, men or women, maybe you hurt their feeling, so deep that they never feel comfortable with their opposing sex anymore. Hence, they turn their orientation to the same sex. It is one of the possible case, right? but nowadays so many people never think about other people feeling.
    Always did the same, did the same judgement. Go live outside if you can and realize, how close minded you are.
    I'm not gay but I knew a lot of my friend who is gay/lesbian and after understanding how their live was/is, I started to realize how poor my mindset is. Note that some these gay/lesbian people are all brilliant people, scholarship recipient/can speak multiple language/work at different job in multiple countries/enterpreneurship. Religion exist because of the humanity, not the other way around. There is no use of religion if you can't act humanely but everytime we want to act something, we mostly judge by religion or cultural.
