    We haven’t camped in several years but when we did we used a piece of artificial grass carpet that was purchased at either Home Depot or Lowe’s. It was sturdy enough not to tear but lite enough to roll up and ride on top of the back bumper of our rig. I used bungee cords to wrap around the bumper and carpet when traveling. It worked great.

      Thank you so much.

    Wal-mart has 9’x12’ patio mat that folds up to about a 3’x6” with a carrying strap. We use it with our pop up camper.

      We got our patio mat from Walmart as well. Less expensive than the one from Camping world. And I love it because water aka rain goes right through, sand goes right through, it is soft under bare feet(I hate shoes). We have had our little dachshunds tromping around on it as well at a campsite and their toenails didn't harm it and when it is hot, our Jelly liked getting under the awning and laying in a cool spot right on the mat. Love the Gazebo by the way. I am going to show my hubby, I think we are going to need one of those!

    Love this we have just a pop up canopy with a screen that goes around it. The best part of that is when we are at the beach we can keep it low and sit under it without worrying about it flying away! But I love the look of the easy to set this one up.

    I have the Gazelle T4 green tent. Love that thing. On the site I saw them say 90seconds , but def can open it in 45. I lile how much thicker the material is than a normal tent.

    We have one one these also. Use it when RVing as well as at home on the patio to protect our young grandson from the sun while playing in his little pool. We use our RV rug as the floor to cover the concrete patio and to cushion his knees. We can also all be sitting inside in chairs around the pool. Absolutely love our Gazelle Gazebo! Have a few of the wind guards/walks to attach too.

    Thank you for this review. I tent camp & it is nice to have a cover over the picnic table so everything is not wet with dew in the morning. I have an instant-pop up which is the devil to set up alone. Even with 2 people it is hard. I will start saving my pennies for this for camping season next year! Blessings!

      Terri Stewart we bought an instant popup & a camping neighbour came over to help “before there’s a divorce”. Turned out it was broken so needed to be returned. We picked up a regular set up screened shelter to keep the bugs out so I could read outside. In southern Indiana the humidity was so heavy everything was wet in the morning.

    CAUTION: I have one of these, a different brand, but same thing. Love it. But something to be aware of. I was sitting in mine, nice breeze but nothing crazy. My guess, a 30 mph gust blew thru and it pushed the top hub down. If someone was standing under it it would have knocked them out or worse. I would recommend, if in doubt, putting a center support pole to avoid that. And if conditions warrant, tie out the side hubs. I bumped a side wall from the outside and it popped in sending everything on a table across the room. There is a lot to like about those shelters, but take measures to protect those loved ones. Enjoy and God bless.

    Very nice extra room! Super convenient! Ill put one of those on our list. I also wanted to say on your last video that you did not enjoy Texas due to the dust. North and West Texas are dusty! I wish I could post a pic of me and my Dad when we visit Amarillo area. It was hilarious and dusty. Anyway, please give Texas another try. Central Texas is beautiful and not dusty :). And East Texas is completely wet and covered with pine trees. Worth a second visit!!

    I have seen where people take a tarp and sew a canvas drop cloth to one side then use it as a floor covering. They put the tarp side down and canvas side up. It makes a waterproof, "soft" area for play.

      Loftis Party of Six - weROAM you can go to a home improvement store that sell it in rolls. They will cut to your specific needs. And, you can get it in sections that can be stored easily. You may even be able to store it in the Jeep for travel days. Easy to hose off and dry. The ones we looked at even had “seeping” holes for rain and moisture to drain through.

    I have that model of Gazelle. A couple words to the wise for windy conditions. Center pole -- Use an expandable painters pole, most have one end with a small loop through a plastic piece. Tie that end to the hex spider at the top. Then put a screw part way into the threaded end. Expand the pole to keep the roof supported and drive the screw into the ground. Then use ratchet straps on the D rings at the tops of the Hex roof. Use tent pegs to anchor them. At the center of the panel pop outs use some string and tent pegs to hold those out. I know that is a bit of work like maybe five to ten minutes. However, not having the gazelle fold up improperly with a wind gust it is well worth it. YMMV If you do not put the tie downs on, then you MUST put pegs through the eyelets or the tent will blow away. Don't ask how I know. I was tearing down and had taken out the final peg in the last eyelet and the Gazelle took off and got about a hundred feet before I caught it. A minor screen tear was the only damage.

    It is so good to see some real live scenario review of the G6. At least one reviewer has said that it can get very hot because breeze cannot go through the very dense mosquito netting. Is that your experience? Thanks.

    • @LoftisPartyofSix
      @LoftisPartyofSix  Рік тому +1

      I would agree.. it does block the wind.. so in very hot climates it may not be the best but in buggy areas it works great.

    Would a RV outdoor rug work. We bought a outdoor RV rug that you put in front of your steps at Walmart. It's a breathable material. And weatherproof. It folds up real easy. We put ours in front of our steps to help keep some of the dirt from going inside the RV. That's the only thing I can think of that would work. And it would be big enough to cover the area you are looking for. And they are very reasonable priced. Believe me cause my husband is cheap. Lol.

    Michael, have been looking for something like this for our campsite; love how quick/easy it appears to be able to set-up/tear-down. It appears, you're parking in a desert area (AZ or CA?), so here are a couple of QUESTIONS for y'all: 1) how is the cross ventilation? Do you get a decent breeze THRU the gazebo or does it stay hot? 2) have you tried the wind (?) panels? How are they working for y'all? 3) Is some kind of flooring material available that can be velcro'd to the gazebo?
    I'd like to use it for add'l outdoor space, when used with the TT. Perhaps, some add'l sleeping space, if needed. Sounds like it would be super for shelter AND protection from insects! Look forward to your take on those issues? Any other suggestions/comments?
    Love seeing you and Laine and the kids; you're super people, I know!
    Y'all Be Safe!

    • @LoftisPartyofSix
      @LoftisPartyofSix  4 роки тому

      Yes we was in AZ then. Breeze easily goes through it. I have not tried the wind panels nor a floor for it. It would have to be a very durable floor material for our family and the locations we would be placing it on.

    Thank you for this one. I don't have my tiny house for vacations....yet. I got my first tent at 9 yrs old though and have gone camping for decades in that same tent. I've spent weeks on a "secret" beach where the mosquitos are fierce, and I had my tent walls fold in toward the middle one night when a storm came off the ocean. This would be so much quicker to take down and dry. By the way, those mosquitos also tried to come through my car ac vents to get me. FIERCE!!! I love that beach though. I still keep the location a secret.😊 More than one day/night I had it all to myself.👣🍍My guess is everyone else is too smart to hang with the mosquitos.

      You could tie it to blocks or rocks to secure it.

    It me 40 minutes and then ask my wife and 2 boys to help. Total 60 minutes. I am sure it would be a lot quicker my 2nd time. Thanks.

    I heard it can be a little warm inside. They say the mesh doesn't let air flow. What's your opinion about this?

    • @LoftisPartyofSix
      @LoftisPartyofSix  3 роки тому

      Yes I’ve noticed that the airflow isn’t as good

    Attention full-timers:
    You know the formaldehyde in every trailer/coach RV is detrimental to the health of ALL humans, right?
    There is/was a sticker on every rig that discloses that fact.
    At least get the children out of there, full-time.

    Simply get indoor outdoor carpet, it's cheap, can get wet and easy

  • @pukwudjivc

    Stop by Wal-Mart and in the camping area for about $1 each you can get the big nail type stakes instead of those cheap ones that bend when you look at them funny.

    Why don’t you look at an Outdoor RV Mat. Some are weaved so you can go through the weave with the stakes and not damage the mat.

    Have you used it on a windy day? If so, how well did it hold up, please?

    • @LoftisPartyofSix
      @LoftisPartyofSix  4 роки тому

      It was fairly windy at this location in the video and it did great. I would take it down if it’s going to get really windy.

    That looks very interesting. I was wondering how well it might work on the beach. It can get windy. My husband is a hunter as well. Many possibilities.

      We haven’t tried it there so I’m not sure.. I would say staking it down or anchoring it really good in the sand would be a must.

    • @billanddeb
      @billanddeb 4 роки тому

      There are additional anchoring points at each hub. Amazon has tent stakes designed for Sandy soil. They literally screw in. Using those stakes and anchoring them to the hubs will be a great help in windy situations. We've never set ours up on sand (yet) but we have been in high winds with our Gazelle anchored in this manner (with stakes for Rocky soil) with no issues. Great review. We love our Gazelle Gazebo.

    We bought this sand free mat. Sand falls through so you don’t have to sweep it all the time. It is super light weight and folds up very small. We absolutely love it!
    We also have the same type tent but we got the Clam Brand. We love it just as much!
