  • Recent years have seen an explosion of innovation in health care and life sciences. In 2023, the FDA approved the world’s first CRISPR therapy to treat sickle cell disease and a new treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. The advent of generative AI, digital devices and wearables has also opened new frontiers, driving advancements that redefine how we approach, develop and experience medical care.
    UCLA Anderson alumnus Utpal Koppikar (’01), the CFO of Alphabet’s precision health care company Verily, pointed out that the frontrunner in the race to dominate personalized medicine delivery will be the company that gets through the data rights barrier.
