digging a dead animal pit for power county, yup going to throw rover, mr. ed, bettsy, and anything else without opposable thumbs in heremaps.google.com...
It’s always a pleasure to watch a true catskinner at work! I appreciate an operator who knows how to use his rippers, most guys bury the whole ripping chassis instead of just 2/3rds of the shank, which causes undue wear on both. Jay, a man and his machine, is a beautiful thing! 🙏🇺🇸💪💪🤘
I appreciate the other skilled hands noting in words how skilled you were in performing this particular task. People like me who have never operated such a machine can't fully comprehend how much skilled precision was utilized simply by watching a video. Expert opinions by similar workmen spell out explicitly whether the operator knows his trade or not, and to what degree.
D-9s are great machines. We dug a pit like this with our D9G one time to bury trees we cleared on a road allowance and while my dad was digging the hole with the D-9 I was gathering up the brush with the D6D. I worked all morning pushing these trees in a pile next to the hole he was digging. After lunch, with one push of the D9G, all my morning's work ended up in the hole.
JPaydirt,I just recently started watching some of your videos. I like them. Especially some of the scenery. It must be nice to be out in BFE with nobody around for miles. Peaceful.
In a million years some university archaeologist is going to find all these bones and deduce that pigs, sheep, dogs, cattle and goats were all living communally and were all mysteriously wiped out while sleeping by some unknown force.
I was working on a development pushing the rock dump on a 8t and the guy asked me if i could dig a couple of test holes with it i said yea he said he'd be back in a hour with the engineer to test the dirt for a possible borrow pit after a half hour all ya could see was the top of the cab i was having fun that day
Nice smooth cuts hell of an operator there. Plus scrapers would have to make big circle set up and the dozer would have to push then back up. In a slot doze like this dozer will do the work faster.
Hmm I believe it is powered by Caterpillar D353 diesel engine which I never had to made hands on experience in engine rebuild and troubleshooting. Because here in Pakistan these old and gold yellow iron jewel are no more. Only some D10N, D8K, D6D and D7G track type tractor TTT are available to cut n dig the soil
No seepage being that deep and close to the river???very interesting.. But guess I've been in Florida waay too long.. Love your vids.. I'm going to subscribe.. Thanks for sharing..got me through my weekend with the flu. 😰😰👍👍👌👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Co. "A" 84th. Engineer Battalion Vietnam 69/70 we operated a quarry and crusher site and we had two D-9's that were painted their CAT yellow, along with our regular equipment.
You ever noticed how much your knees bash against the side panels when you get the wiggle going. I mean you don't notice it during the day but some nights phew and look at the shiny steel on the panel lol
I can guess a few reasons to bury vs burn: Forego the cost of accelerants, Forego any dangers of fire spreading during dry and windy conditions, Maintain discretion such that outside parties are not alerted to the volume or frequency of disposed animals (In the case of diseased cattle that could be alarming to neighbors, buyers/consumers, or regulatory types.), Reduce the risk of spreading fungiforms for disease that would normally escape open burning temperatures (chronic bovine encephalitis or wasting disease comes to mind).
Now i see wy dozers are so popular in US not a singel rock in the ground. Here in Sweden you have some top soil max 6inch and then rock hard dirt mixed whit small rocks and boulders, the ground is so hard from when pressur from the ice aged.
Running equipment I never worked a day....well, wait.....there were those times stuck in mud, no equipment for Many miles, chainsaw a 6' tree chunk and chain it to the back of the track. Easy out, then the work started retrieving that good chain😊😊
mate its the tidiest 9G around its a credit to you guys. noticed it pushing up hill at a fair speed has it got v 9H spacer plate engine with more hp in it. max
Hello my name is Denis from Russia.Great you have video about Caterpillar repair!!!!! I myself work at Caterpillar D9L.You can shoot video by adjusting the engine CAT3412. I can not find anwyhere this Manual. Sorry for my English!!!!!
i like the multi shank ripper and semi u dozer , seems to be the way to go , i am running a 8N with a single shank and angle dozer works ok but not as efficent ,
hello,i would love to move them in usa. do not know anyone who needs an operator and mechanic earthmoving.ho always worked in that field .excuse my English "I'm italian"thanks so much
I love watching equipment like this, working, but wouldn't a funeral pyre, do the job a whole lot quicker , not to mention less costly...........but then we wouldn't have gotten to see the Cat. doing it's thing here !
+jpaydirt Sorry, it's spelled 'pyre' not prye,....but in any case it's a form or cremation. Best way to have it explained is to look up 'funeral pyre' on Google,...you'll see it there for sure. Cheers.
good video buddy as all ur,s are. i dont personally like coming on peoples channels & criticising but i just got 1 little problem. im a gambling man & i,d bet a months wages that good looking D9H is actually a older model D9G. sorry if im being a bit picky but i like the 9G as much as the 9H anyway.
That's how so many dinosaur bones ended up in piles together. D9 Cat !

Your videos have come a long way baby. That ol’ 9 is pristine. It should be in a car show.
Great machine ,lots of power just like the D7G ,very versatile and great on steep slopes. 👍👍👍
Kind of pretty Germans like war they started 2 of the biggest

I saw that ole girl in action! On that day! Good vids Jeff! Keep up the good work! CAT POWER!! FOREVER!
I have seen many a d9 pushing a scraper up a hill while scraping....gotta love the big ones.
Meanwhile... contract work ongoing near Area 51... 2019

Not enough of them.

I just love it when a dozer blows black smoke like that
I'm 84 years young. Loved when I operated any bull dozer.
In a million years some paleontologist is going to have a great time here. A field day?

A least the chain sprockets don't jump like the high drive ones do. great work.
Beautiful cuts. Beautiful machine. What a fantastic video
Love the feel of that wiggle when you've got your depth just right
You ever noticed how much your knees bash against the side panels when you get the wiggle going. I mean you don't notice it during the day but some nights phew and look at the shiny steel on the panel lol
That’s not as easy as it looks. Good operator.

this is the best video description of slot dozing I have ever seen. Love those old 9's.
D9 Legend of bulldozers!!!!!
Well spotted G/H... still a very tidy and good tractor,
it's harder to reverse back through the trench w/o gouging the wall.
Qual a finalidade de abrir vala e extradição de areia ou caixão para pavimentação
It's tough to dig like that and keep a flat bottom and straight sides that deep, this guy is good
looks like ten people drive Priuses!
80 now
D9H - better than any modern machine
last time i saw a cat dig like this, they were looking for the water table for a reservoir.
We had a euclid tc12 do that once. He found it. The tc12 is still.in it.
Nice work and good looking old 9
I keep waiting to see if there will ever be these older dozers on a push plate together
Were did you find such good. dirt I have never seen such dirt ever were I have ever dug
you would be in pure ROCK inside of 6 inches
Running equipment I never worked a day....well, wait.....there were those times stuck in mud, no equipment for Many miles, chainsaw a 6' tree chunk and chain it to the back of the track. Easy out, then the work started retrieving that good chain😊😊
Using a method like this would be a good way to quickly dig out a hole for a bunker and then bury it. Is it difficult to dig like this?
Slot dozing run with it big boy don't stop you can carry more!!!!
Mass Grave, or a hell of a jump!?
That thing needed a Switch Blade Turbo on it!!!!!!!
Nice blade control.......im an apprentice and learned something from you..thanks for posting this....
That would be a sick step down to a step up jump lol
Good dry ground in Florida you would already be stuck,, have you ever used a big excavator so easy
Man I can smell the wet dirt, I ll never forget that.....
looks like a scene from the movie 'hud'
Nice D9 tractor
That is not a DH that is a d9g
Is that OK if I call that a BACKHOE with extra wide bucket.
Part of my plant operators course thirty years ago at c.i.t.b was to do this with a d6.
Very good work cat d9H.
looks like something evel knievel would run a bike up!!!
makes me a bit jealous i had to do a similar thing with a d6c in the middle of summer to bury 65 heifers
Nice machine for looking for gold.....
I never saw an H model with an air cleaner like the older 66A G models had...🤔
As it turns out it's actually a G model. They put a Cab on it and when they repainted they only had H model Stickers for it.
Yeah, he mentions that in another video.
those D9's are a beast
IS this in AUS IS it for camels!?
Were you worried at all about the walls collapsing?
No, because of the material it stands vertical for years
mate its the tidiest 9G around its a credit to you guys. noticed it pushing up hill at a fair speed has it got v 9H spacer plate engine with more hp in it. max
rover, mr. ed, bettsy, and anything else without opposable thumbs are a lot more valuable than most of the human beings I know.
most impressive‼️🥂

Couldnt get away with that around here. You'd hit a boulder after 2 feet....or bedrock.

I would not want to drink water from a well there!

Power County, as in Montana?
Thanks for reply.can i ask you a question? If you do not bother you
wait shhhhhhhhhhhhh.... ...... just listen to the power behind that thing.......lovely huh?
Nice old D9
Why not turn around at the end and move dirt both directions?
Before an enema, only one.
setting v rack v same as v H would that bring it up to 410 hp.
I wonder if Uncle Ted and his ego would fit in that pit?
Like this D9H; Thanks for sharing :-)
Be cool to bury a couple of shipping containers converted to dwellings and love in them!

@@Jpaydirt my favourite is when they say turn your rippers around so you can do that backing up.
