I have literally never dunked my pizza into any kind of sauces. My mother god rest her soul was Italian…she thought it was blasphemous to do that lol. It looks so good though I might break the “rules”.
Your mother had the right idea. A truly good pizza doesn’t need to be dipped in fake cheese sauces and ranch, those heavy sauces just cover up the taste of the pizza. I’m guilty of doing it at times with the mediocre pizza chains here in Canada, but imagine being in Naples, with a beautiful authentic pizza in front of you, the dough carefully made and stone cooked to perfection with the freshest high quality tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella, basil and olive oil…and then imagine dunking it in a pile of ranch 🥴
