  • ALL NEW! Here is the close to Card Sharks from May 1980 with an embedded ticket plug and a slow, long credit roll (They went through the entire theme). Won't see any of this on GSN anymore...

🌝When I see the Card Sharks 1978 long closings from my 20's to today, I love the outfits and hair of the female contestants!!😍

I'm so lame I think if there was just a 30 minute show with nothing but promotional fee plugs I would watch it. For some reason I think it's particularly cool to watch retro products being shilled on old game shows.

Except for that NBC guy talking over the credits, that would have been the best Card Sharks close ever!

Dodgerfn5 I totally agree with you. Even though I was 2 years old during this episode, I used to love when the closing music had to restart itself again bcz of the long credit row.

Great extended closing, especially when the music runs out and then has to restart.

Marc Breslow was a busy guy around this time. He was directing Card Sharks, Match Game and TPIR.

+T David foley How do you suppose Breslow got around so he could direct *all three* G-T shows?

+Zachary Dunlap-Tunnage that would have been 4 (long) days a week. I each for sharks and match, 2 for tpir. Plus tpir and match had a lot of the same crew at television city.

T David foley Sounds like torture! :-(
Still, he managed to pull it off?
      Also, why *2* for TPIR?

+Zachary Dunlap-Tunnage as an hour long show, tpir taped over 2 days.

T David foley I see. Still, like I said in the earlier post, how did Breslow managed to pull this off?!

Is it just me or the audience members seem to be younger on the Bob Eubanks hosted CBS version of Card Sharks?!

Nice long closing credits sequence. Of course, in today's time (as of September 15, 2017), the credits would be in a crunched format. That is, it would only be visible in only about the bottom fourth of the screen. It would also flash by so fast, one would need Superman like vision to even get a good, detailed reading of the credits.

I guess there was a Geritol giveaway at the doors... :D

NBC's Howard Reig, who worked alongside the likes of Don Pardo, Bill Wendell and Wayne Howell at 30 Rock, was the announcer who read the promo over the "Card Sharks" credits.

The audience is nothing but senior citizens..LOL...The guy at 0:28 with his hand on his forehead looks like Martin Landau.

Of course the audience is going to be senior citizens. These shows taped in the morning and afternoons when most people were at work, and it's probably not summer so people were at work. Lol

Adam B. Smith You should see an episode of the Bob Eubanks hosted CBS version of Card Sharks. The audience members are a little bit younger there.
