    The police education in Norway is a bachelor degree, 3 years. So with proper education it's possible to handle drunk people like this gentleman without anybody get injured or killed. Mind you, the Norwegian police don't wear a gun as part of their day to day gear

    They have translated it badly. This guy had been arrested 22 times for being intoxicated in a public space and probably having the same or worse behaviour as he did here. it's called "fyllearrest" in Norwegian and you are released after you've slept off your drunkness // "Sovet av deg rusen" //. it is not like a normal jail. it's simply to keep yourself and others safe from harm.

    • @julianbrisner4560
      @julianbrisner4560 Рік тому +9

      Also this guy is most likely an alcoholic. There are no options for these people other than "fyllearrest", unless they are willing to go to rehab.. you can get rehab covered by the state, but it's not easy getting it and you have to prove that you have actually tried stuff to get well by yourself.
      On this show they also change the persons voice most of the times. it's because we know where they are and that means people that live in that area may recognize their voice. Norway has quite a strict law when it comes to protecting peoples personal lives.

      We need something like that in England. But I'm not sure we'd have enough room to put them all. They'd have to requisition a couple of football stadium to house all the Saturday night drunks.

    • @Fedorevsky
      @Fedorevsky 9 місяців тому

      We don't have room for everyone in Norway either. Especially in weekends they fill up the capacity rather quickly and at that point they'll just have to arrest them or send or drive them home depending on the severity of their drunken behavior. When you get orders to go home like that they give you a certain timeframe you need to stay at home to sober up and you will be arrested if you are spotted outside before the time given. @@goodyeoman4534

However, there is a recent legislation that is up for consideration now to have police armed at all times, so we might be moving towards having armed police in Norway going forward, this is due to the recent rise of higher and more frequent risk situations.

    I can't imagine how it is being a police officer in America, Where something as simple as a normal traffic stop can get you killed. I have huge respect for the men in blue in America. I know crime isn't as bad in all places, But going to work well knowing that it might be you're last day puts you on edge, Pulling people over not knowing if they will pull a gun on you. It's sad. Here in Norway we have it good. We have cases of Police brutality aswell. and I honestly don't know how it is being an officer in blue. But I think the Norwegian police versus the American police have it 10 000times easier.
