- Does anyone ever really read the description? If so, this is a video meant to be a fun ride on less than ideal conditions. The Baby G is more than capable of handling it! It was mostly uphill with significant elevation changes. Thanks for Watching
Awesome! I enjoyed the ride along. I swear they’ve paved over all the roads here in Tennessee.
Those FSR's are glorious. I'd almost consider moving back to the PNW just to ride those trails a couple of times a week. Glad to hear about your upgraded suspension. That seems to be where manufacturers skimp at that segment/price point.
yes I think so. it is nice to ride 10 minutes and be out in the forest. Thanks for watching!
1:05, it always makes me laugh when standard cars show up in our videos where we are off roading and adventure riding. I always edit them out. Great video, as usual, man.
So true! they're wherebthey should be. haha. Thanks for watching
Good video/sound quality. I agree the Rally Raid Suspension on my G310 makes the bike feel much more “planted”. Just starting to finally cool off enough in Oklahoma to start riding again!
thanks for the compliment. now get out there! lol
Where do you ride? I have a g310gs I'm in OKC. I haven't found any good trails except for the OAT
Washington state. Thanks for watching
I can't believe you ride wet forest service roads at 40 MPH, although the packed dirt isn't as bad as the pea gravel they use around here. I went moto camping with a couple of friends last weekend and there were a few miles of national park forest service roads to get to our campsite. A little faster is better on gravel so the bike is more stable and rides over it, similar to riding faster on steel bridge grating to avoid the knobbies from sticking into the openings in the grating.
Even though I'm a big guy and a lot of my riding has been with camping equipment, and I'm not gentle on the starts and stops, I'm now well over 9000 miles on the original Metler Tourance tires on my G310GS, which is twice as many miles as I was expecting. I bought Shinko 804/805 tires almost a year ago for better off road performance but I'm still waiting to wear out the Metler tires. I'm almost there.
I may bite the bullet and upgrade the suspension on my baby GS. BMW really should make a G310GS Adventure, with a 4+ gallon fuel tank, good suspension, an aluminum bash plate and engine guarding.
The tires I have, have a lot of traction so it provides a lot of confidence. I am careful though.
yes people do read the desc... im still on the stock metrzler tyres, which dont handle the PNW mud as well as I would like. By gosh I love the little baby GS.
thats ok. wear them out and get some battlaxe ax41s. thanks for watching!
oh and thanks for reading the desc!
I sure do like your bike now!!😂
hahaha that made me laugh, why didn't you like it before? lol
Yes the bike is so much more stable on this stuff with the RR suspension. What is your baseline setup on the Rear Shock? How many clicks on HS and LS settings?
I have not adjusted it yet. I need to put some weight on the back. it works great as is.
Who makes the brace for your GPS mount? Mine vibrates so much off-road I stopped using it. And I agree, the RR suspension is awesome!
this guy with two thumbs pointed at self. I bought a aluminum bar from home depot, measure, cut, bend and drilled holes. there is a video of it on my channel. it is pretty easy to make and works great. I was about to give up as well. let me know if you have any questions and thank you for watching!
@@Sasqmoto found the video! Excellent info, thanks!
I try to remember that there is a fixed amount of traction in any situation that can be used for acceleration/deceleration, turning or braking. Many times, I'll brake hard, ease off the brakes and then turn, rather than trying to turn and brake at the same time which could exceed the available traction. Many newbs will try to accelerate or decelerate while cornering and low side.
on road you can, but off road is different epeciallly during different conditions. I have never low sided a motocycle 😀

moo2 you too
