    Big learning leap for a project engine I am doing. Have read a few books about carbs mainly automotive types but, This seems simpler and more straight foreword in the operation and more open source hardware. Thanks for the plug idea never took that into consideration in how the engine is working under load.

    Please help. I have my needle in position 5, super rich, that’s how my kart runs fastest. Should I change the pilot jet to a bigger one and then bring the needle down to position 3 or 4? Is my understanding that if the needle is in position 1 or 5, you should change the pilot jet to a smaller one or bigger one, so the needle position ends up in position 3, Am I correct? Please help, thanks 🙏

    outstanding video, I have a small question, regarding the bleeding holes on the pilot jet, when the holes are in the bottom means that a lean mixture and when they are up it means a reach mixture ?

    • @SparkysGarage
      @SparkysGarage  5 років тому

      haitham saadany specifically for this machine and these carbs. The the air screw that covers the pilot jet controls air flow. Left or counterclockwise allows more air which is leaner.

    alright so i have a 270 main w/ 25 pilots needle is set either 3rd or 4th not sure however its the needle that came with my dynojet moose racing jet-kit. I run a k&n like yours w/ airbox led no snorkel toomey 5 pipes and as far as I can see its a perfect jetting set-up, the plugs have this nice tan-ish brown color runs great. I was wondering if i get rid of the airbox completely and install the pot k&n's with outerwears what should my main jet size be, 280&340 mains came with the kit i bought.

    @quintonking1098 8 років тому

    My Banshee was just rejetted with a 30 pilot jet, needle at the 4th clip, air screw at 1.5 turns, and 290 main jets. Mods are K&N Air Filter with no air box lid, FMF Gold Series Fatty w/ Powercore Silencer. Sunday it started bogging when it was supposed to hit the powerband. Plus my exhaust is only blowing smoke out of the left pipe when you tap the throttle, which I think is just a fouled sparkplug but do you think the powerband bog is a jet issue or air leak problem?

    Sir I am using TVS Suzuki Shogun. Carb is Mikuni VM20. Stock pilot jet 20, main jet 100 and Needle jet size is 8 and needle position to 2. But for the performance upgradation, I installed pilot jet to 25, main jet to 110. After the trial I noticed that there was too much of fluttering and floods. Like the bike doesnt move freely in 2nd, 3rd gear and 4th gear. What should be the problem and how do I over come with this. Please reply or email at the earliest.

    good video and got to ask you a question. ive looked on google and cannot find anything, so im hoping you can help. 01 kx65 with power core2 slip on, outlaw air filter and wiseco piston (stock) and carbon reeds (stock). its hard to start when cold and it wants to shut off when first accelerate. do you know what size jetting I need? thx

    • @SparkysGarage
      @SparkysGarage  10 років тому

      I have no idea where to start on that for you. Most engines will not run will when they are cold. You should make your adjustments based on how easy it is to start, and how well it runs when warm. With these small displacement engines it is very hard for them to hold an idle when cold.
      One recommendation is to buy one idle jet size bigger and one smaller. Try one, if it gets worse then but the one in that's two sizes in the opposite direction.
      So lets say its a 25 (off the wall number). Then buy a 24 and 26. If it runs worse on the 24 then put the 26 in and try that.
      Hope this helps.

If I roll on it will run like a bat outta hell. It only has a FMF slip on. And I redid the carb when I bought it. Did not know he did custom jetting. Now it has factory jets. Should I go up a few pilot jet sizes?

      Devin Madsen Do not change your oil mixture for the weather. Your best bet is to go over to blasterforum dot com and ask for jetting advice. Im really only familiar with the banshee and the blaster runs slightly different due to having a different cylinder size and exhaust design.

    When the temp drops do you go up on the jet or down on the jet ?

      When the temp drops you need a smaller jet.

    whats the go if i i have my fuel screw all the way in and only just starts to get a high idle, smaller pilot jet?

      @SparkysGarage  7 років тому

      Fuel screw all the way in means you cannot block anymore air, so you need to add fuel. Bigger pilot.

    thanks

      +mustangmike04gt46 Idle jet is lean.

    When the temp drops and you need to change your jet size, are you changing to a bigger jet or a smaller jet?
    In other words does temperature drop create a more lean or rich condition?

    • @SparkysGarage
      @SparkysGarage  9 років тому +1

      +oHerroPrease an air temp drop making air more dense and making a leaner condition. You need a larger jet for more fuel.
