Fender and Tube Screamer sounds very good together, I like that. I have used a 66 Fender Super Reverb and TS for many years and it sounded very good. PBO
Thank u for this review. It was very helpful im glad you played more than talked so i may get a full understanding of this amp. I prefer this review more than many others than i have seen.
I got this for my son a few weeks ago and it is such a good amp that I got another guy to buy one, I was blessed to get mine used but in brand new condition for $200 and it came with casters(new one doesn't) the foot switch and a nice Fender cover which the amp doesn't come with. It has really good beefy distortion but if you want that super bright distortion you might need to get a pedal. 2-12's 100w you can't beat it.
Extremely helpful video, kind Sir. I'm going to trade for one of that very same amp tomorrow, and I was wondering what it would sound like with my TS-9. Thanks to your video, I now know.
I'm using this amp for over 1 year, its great for practising (if you find the right spot for the volume, cus its damn loud, once you got the volume right I recommend never touching it again XD). I also play with friends in a basement, it keeps up with a drummer EASILY. Very cheap. Combine it with a Boss Distortion DS-1 pedal or another one that you like, the drive on the amp is crap compared to that :P. Sounds very good clean too. Keep the mids low, bass and treble high for nice metal sound
The TS9 tube screamer sounds amazing with a tube amp. The frontman series are good amps for the price but in order to get that SRV sound you'll need the tube amp.
plug a strat into an mxr compression pedal into this amp and use the clean channel . adjust the level on the mxr pedal for slight grit. perfect tone. If you want good distortion plug a les paul into the mxr into the gain channel (all the way up). the pedal takes this amp from a 7 to a 9. try it ...you will love the results. I gig with this amp and get all kinds of compliments. I leave my tube amps home..lol
@BillysBMW yeah it is analogue and it is so loud you can not stand it! it will hurt your head! man buy it you will love it and it is just $300.00 bucks! thanks for looking!
@klv400 i mean i'm getting a new guitar amp and i wonder whever you thought a roland cube would be better then a fender frontman man for stuff like dist and blues
I wouldn't put a ts9 in the effects loop. If you had delay or reverb yes or chorus yes. What it does is bypasses the preamp and lets the effect color only the power amp section. If you use delay on the input with a ts9 it boost the delay as well. Running in the loop the delay wouldnt change by the boost from the TS9. If you run the distortion channel and needed a clean boost the effects loop works great and won't compress your distortion tone. TS9 on the clean does nothing in the effects loop.
Fender or roland ??? serious question no, "how could you fucking decide between a roland and fender man, fender is like fucking awesome, you must be stupid to think like that blah blah blah" for stuff like clean, distortion, cruch and blues ???

I agree with you - it does sound really good. It actually sounds "tube-ish" to me, but that may be the way it was recorded. Thanks for sharing!
